Bug#254057: Update of kdelibs4 and kdelibs-bin solved the problem

2004-07-11 Thread James R. Phillips

Package: kde
Version: 4:3.1.2

I wrote earlier to say this bug (254057) afflicted me. The issue was
solved tonight when I updated to kdelibs4 and kdelibs-bin from
unstable. The versions went from 4:3.2.2-2 (testing version) to
4:3.2.3-2 (unstable version) on both packages. This resolved the
problem for me, and I now have all widget styles available.

$ apt-show-versions -a kdelibs4
kdelibs44:3.2.3-2 install ok installed
No stable version
kdelibs44:3.2.2-2 testing
kdelibs44:3.2.3-2 unstable
kdelibs4/unstable uptodate 4:3.2.3-2

$ apt-show-versions -a kdelibs-bin
kdelibs-bin 4:3.2.3-2 install ok installed
No stable version
kdelibs-bin 4:3.2.2-2 testing
kdelibs-bin 4:3.2.3-2 unstable
kdelibs-bin/unstable uptodate 4:3.2.3-2

Maybe the movement of these packages to testing should be expedited,
since they seem to solve this problem.

Thanks,

CVS commit by mornfall:

Do some bits of work on filter settings dialog. The setup button is
enabled dynamically and brings up the dialog now. It only creates
a bunch of labels and lineedits for now, and the settings are never
applied.

Keramik-Style lost after Update

2004-07-11 Thread Stephan Gromer
Dear Debian-Qt/KDE-Maintainer-Team,

I did an apt-get update apt-get -u dist-upgrade on my two Debian testing
systems today. This worked nicely. However, after a reboot, the
KDE-Keramik-Style was gone. What I have found out via google is that this
might be due to a qt3.1 update.
Is there any way to solve that other than going back to a previous
Qt-versions? Please apologize if you have posted this problem + solution
elsewhere already. If so please kindly send me a link.

Thank you for all your efforts
Yours
 Stephan

Bug#258868: kpilot: Character code conversion is NOT bi-derectional

2004-07-11 Thread Shin-ichiro Hiraga
Package: kpilot
Version: 4:3.2.2-2
Severity: normal

I started to use palm Zire (which has been used with Macintosh iSync)
in combination with kpilot.

Before stating the trouble I experienced, it would be better to explain
character coding confusion in Japanese.
In linux, euc-jp has been standard for Japanese character code.
Unfortunately, however, the other OS, such as Windows and Macintosh have
used shift-jis as standard until recent.
Palm also uses shift-jis as Japanese character code.

In kpilot, you can specify the characotr code used in Palm.
Therefore, I specified shift-jis and tried Hotsync.

For the first Hotsync, it was fine. The addressbook entries (shift-jis)
in Palm were converted to euc-jp and transferred tokaddressbook.
Nothing was wrong both in kaddressbook and Palm addressbook.

However, after the second Hotsync (and thereafter) addressbook entries
in the Palm were not correctly displayed.
I guess that kaddressbook entries were transferred WITHOUT charactor
code conversion.
