Bug#254057: Update of kdelibs4 and kdelibs-bin solved the problem
Package: kde Version: 4:3.1.2 I wrote earlier to say this bug (254057) afflicted me. The issue was solved tonight when I updated to kdelibs4 and kdelibs-bin from unstable. The versions went from 4:3.2.2-2 (testing version) to 4:3.2.3-2 (unstable version) on both packages. This resolved the problem for me, and I now have all widget styles available. $ apt-show-versions -a kdelibs4 kdelibs44:3.2.3-2 install ok installed No stable version kdelibs44:3.2.2-2 testing kdelibs44:3.2.3-2 unstable kdelibs4/unstable uptodate 4:3.2.3-2 $ apt-show-versions -a kdelibs-bin kdelibs-bin 4:3.2.3-2 install ok installed No stable version kdelibs-bin 4:3.2.2-2 testing kdelibs-bin 4:3.2.3-2 unstable kdelibs-bin/unstable uptodate 4:3.2.3-2 Maybe the movement of these packages to testing should be expedited, since they seem to solve this problem. Keramik-Style lost after Update
Dear Debian-Qt/KDE-Maintainer-Team, I did an apt-get update apt-get -u dist-upgrade on my two Debian testing systems today. This worked nicely. However, after a reboot, the KDE-Keramik-Style was gone. What I have found out via google is that this might be due to a qt3.1 update. Is there any way to solve that other than going back to a previous Qt-versions? Please apologize if you have posted this problem + solution elsewhere already. If so please kindly send me a link. Bug#258868: kpilot: Character code conversion is NOT bi-derectional
Package: kpilot Version: 4:3.2.2-2 Severity: normal I started to use palm Zire (which has been used with Macintosh iSync) in combination with kpilot. Before stating the trouble I experienced, it would be better to explain character coding confusion in Japanese. In linux, euc-jp has been standard for Japanese character code. Unfortunately, however, the other OS, such as Windows and Macintosh have used shift-jis as standard until recent. Palm also uses shift-jis as Japanese character code. In kpilot, you can specify the characotr code used in Palm. Therefore, I specified shift-jis and tried Hotsync. For the first Hotsync, it was fine. The addressbook entries (shift-jis) in Palm were converted to euc-jp and transferred tokaddressbook. Nothing was wrong both in kaddressbook and Palm addressbook. However, after the second Hotsync (and thereafter) addressbook entries in the Palm were not correctly displayed. I guess that kaddressbook entries were transferred WITHOUT charactor code conversion. -- System Information: Debian Release: testing/unstable APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.6.7 Locale: LANG=ja_JP.eucJP, LC_CTYPE=ja_JP.eucJP Versions of packages kpilot depends on: ii debconf [debconf-2.0] 1.4.29 Debian configuration management sy ii kdelibs4 4:3.2.3-2 KDE core libraries ii libart-2.0-2 2.3.16-5 Library of functions for 2D graphi ii libc6 2.3.2.ds1-13 GNU C Library: Shared libraries an ii libfam0c102 2.7.0-5client library to control the FAM ii libgcc1 1:3.3.4-3 GCC support library ii libice6 4.3.0.dfsg.1-6 Inter-Client Exchange library ii libkcal2 4:3.2.2-2 KDE calendaring library ii libmal1 0.40-3 A library of the functions in mals ii libncurses5 5.4-4 Shared libraries for terminal hand ii libpisock80.11.8-10 Library for communicating with a P ii libpng12-01.2.5.0-6 PNG library - runtime ii libqt3c102-mt 3:3.2.3-4 Qt GUI Library (Threaded runtime v ii libreadline4 4.3-11 GNU readline and history libraries ii libsm64.3.0.dfsg.1-6 X Window System Session Management ii libstdc++51:3.3.4-3 The GNU Standard C++ Library v3 ii libx11-6 4.3.0.dfsg.1-6 X Window System protocol client li ii libxext6 4.3.0.dfsg.1-6 X Window System miscellaneous exte ii libxrender1 0.8.3-7X Rendering Extension client libra ii xlibs 4.3.0.dfsg.1-6 X Window System client libraries m ii zlib1g1:1.2.1.1-3compression library - runtime -- debconf information: * shared/pilot/port: ttyUSB1
