Bug#287460: ocrad: kooka: OCR not implemented, requiered ocrad not part of debian.

2004-12-27 Thread Mike Mestnik
Package: kooka
Version: 4:3.3.1-2
Severity: normal
File: ocrad

Kooka should, in the mean time, be made to use another form of OCR. Also
ocrad is currently in mentors but is missing buld-depends.

Providing a built deb for ocrad would be a good idea. Also there should be
a README.debian file explaining all this.

My guess is that few people have "Align to Grid" and a vertical gap in that
grid somewhere (I do have this), and that few people have kicker at the top
of the screen (I have it at the bottom). Since it requires a combination
of those to see the bug, it does not surprise me too much that you are the
only one reporting it.

Bug#287424: konqueror: Thinks /sys is a hard disk

2004-12-27 Thread Martin Orr
Package: konqueror
Version: 4:3.3.2-0pre1
Severity: minor

When I navigate to devices:/, konqueror shows "Hard Disc [/sys]" along with
my real hard disks. However, /proc, /dev, /dev/pts, /dev/shm and
/proc/bus/usb do not appear so there must be a list of virtual mounts
somewhere which /sys should be added to.

Here is the contents of /proc/mounts:
rootfs / rootfs rw 0 0
/dev/root / ext3 rw 0 0
none /dev devfs rw 0 0
proc /proc proc rw,nodiratime 0 0
sysfs /sys sysfs rw 0 0
devpts /dev/pts devpts rw 0 0
tmpfs /dev/shm tmpfs rw 0 0
/dev/hda1 /mnt/winxp ntfs
ro,noatime,nodiratime,uid=0,gid=0,umask=0222,nls=iso8859-1,errors=continue,mft_zone_multiplier=1
 0 0
usbfs /proc/bus/usb usbfs rw 0 0

And /etc/fstab:
# /etc/fstab: static file system information.
#
#
proc/proc procdefaults0 0
/dev/hda2 / ext3defaults,errors=remount-ro 0 1
/dev/hda3 noneswapsw 0 0

/dev/hdc/media/cdrom0 iso9660 ro,user,noauto 0 0
/dev/fd0/media/floppy0 autorw,user,noauto,umask=0077 0 0
/dev/sda1 /media/usb1 autorw,user,noauto,umask=0077 0 0
/dev/sda2 /media/usb2 autorw,user,noauto 0 0

/dev/hda1 /mnt/winxp ntfsdefaults,ro,umask=0222 0 0
/dev/hdd1 /mnt/play1 autorw,user,noauto 0 0
/dev/hdd2 /mnt/play2 autorw,user,noauto 0 0
/dev/hdd3 /mnt/play3 autorw,user,noauto 0 0
/dev/hda4 /mnt/play4 autorw,user,noauto 0 0

While I have 3.3.2-0pre1 installed, I am fairly sure this bug is present in
3.3.1 and indeed for some time before that.

Bug#247793: Update

2004-12-27 Thread Martin Orr
severity 247793 minor
tags 247793 + upstream
thanks

This bug no longer causes problems for SDL, which has worked around it by
the seemingly odd method of playing an empty stream before calling arts_free
the first time. It turns out that this works for a similar reason as the bug
occurs in the first place: the Arts::readObject()
template is used by libmcop when playing the stream and found by the dynamic
linker in libsoundserver_idl.so thereby creating a circular dependency and
preventing libsoundserver_idl.so, which depends on libkmedia2_idl.so, from
being unloaded.

Bug#279993: Bug Still Present in 3.3.2

2004-12-27 Thread Georg Wittenburg
Hello!

I just upgraded to the experimental 3.3.2 packages (see
http://lists.debian.org/debian-kde/2004/12/msg00150.html) and I'm still
getting this behavior. Icons move up one square on the "grid" each time I
start KDE. Kicker is on top of the screen and Icons -> "Align to Grid" in the
desktop RMB menu is checked. I've updated the related bugreport on the KDE
side at http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=47627

Can anybody reproduce this? What about my setup could be so strange that I'm
the only one getting this?

Regards,
   Georg

Hello,

After recent upgrade (when I use Konqueror as web browser), the
"Document/Open With Mozilla" menu entry no longer shows up.

Mozilla is indeed still installed.

(I realise this bug may comes from mozilla, but I do not know and I
let you reassign this bug report to mmozilla, if it needs to).

In the past, the background color was set appropriately for this

Bug#287395: kdebase: not warning when khotkey is disabled at kde start

2004-12-27 Thread Mathieu Roy
Package: kdebase
Version: 4:3.2.2-1
Severity: normal

Hello,

It could be very useful to have a warning printed when we configure a
keyboard shortcut while khotkeys is disabled by default on the KDE
session.

As far I understand, khotkeys get started when such shortcut is
configured. But someone may have the daemon not configured to be
started at startup and do not understand what would cause his
shortcuts to be ignored the next time he start a session (not knowing
it is khotkey that handle it, maybe not even knowing there is
something called khotkeys).

If you intend to reply to me, please remove the invalid string from my
address.

Bug#287379: juk: Short pause when changing tracks

2004-12-27 Thread Peter Hicks
Package: juk
Version: 4:3.3.1-1
Severity: normal

When changing tracks on juk, there is a short pause after the initial second
of the song is played whilst, I guess, juk calculates the length of the
song. This is quite irritating, and doesn't happen when replaying the same
MP3.

Bug#287373: Error when printing from KDE app: "kdeprint_lpd.la" not found

2004-12-27 Thread Hans van Buitenen
Package: kdeprint
Version: 4:3.2.2-1
Severity: normal

While trying to print from any KDE app i get this error 3 times:

There was an error loading kdeprint_lpd. The diagnostic is:
Library files for "kdeprint_lpd.la" not found in paths

After this the print dialog apeares but my printer is not listed.
This printer however is working fine, i kan manage it when i start
kcontrol as root an I can also print from non-k apps such as open office

I have tried to repair e few packages:
 kdeprint
  kdesktop
with: apt-get --reinstall install

but this doesn't help
The K helpdesk sends me to the distribution owner.

I have searced for this file with
http://packages.debian.org/cgi-bin/search_contents.pl?word=kdeprint_lpd.la&searchmode=searchfiles&case=insensitive&version=testing&arch=i386
but fond nothing so i'm not completely sure the error belongs to
kdeprint

Please request info to: hans.van.buitenen at xs4all.nl
since am not (yet) on any Debian lists.

Bug#287097: Experimental kdelibs-data conflicts with Sarge openoffice.org-mimelnk

2004-12-27 Thread Nikita V. Youshchenko

> The openoffice.org-mimelnk from Sid doesn't conflict.

If so, a versioned conflict should be added. Really.
Even if the conflicting version is no longer in sid or sarge, it may be
still on users' systems, so upgrade will be pain for them unless proper
versioned conflict is there.
