Bug#296255: konqueror: Drag and drop of file to Thunderbird is broken
reassign 296255 mozilla-thunderbird stop here (Hi Alexander, we received this bug against konqueror, but it seems to me that Thunderbird is at fault here. Please reassign back if my reasoning below is bogus.) * Michal J. Gajda [Mon, 21 Feb 2005 12:51:15 +0100]: > Package: konqueror > Version: 4:3.3.2-1 > Severity: normal > When file is dragged from Konqueror window (or desktop) to Thunderbird > window, then instead of the attachment, the URL is added. > Nautilus gets it correctly in the same context. Let's see. When I drag a file (e.g., an image) from Konqueror to the Compose window of Thunderbird, two things can happen: (a) that I drop it in the textarea, in which case the URL of the file is pasted (what you experience). (b) that I drop it in the upper half of the window. Just by having the dragged file hover there, the Attachments entry list appears, and when I drop it the file gets added to there. However, when _sending_ such message, Thunderbird spits out the following: "There was a problem including the file in the message. Would you like to continue sending the message without this file?" The strange thing is that if I right click in the file in the Attachments list, and I select 'Open', the file is opened correctly, which leads to think that Thunderbird has the right URL. I am a little puzzled by all this, any insight welcome. Bug#296822: kcontrol: URI for Printer on parallel port is broken
Package: kcontrol Version: 4:3.3.2-1 Severity: important I used the Add Printer Wizard in kcontrol to set up my printer (if it matters, it is a Kyocera Mita FS1010). The printer is connected via the parallel port. After selecting "Local printer (parallel, serial, USB)" the wizard continues to the Local Port Selection Panel. If I select Local System -> Parallel -> Parallel Port #1 the URI field shows "parallel:/dev/unknown-parallel0" I hardly noticed that this is nonsense. I just noticed that my printer did not work at all. After changing the URI to "parallel:/dev/lp0" my printer worked. For normal users this will be a serious showstopper. Bug#289055: kdm always shows username
Hi, I just wanted to point out that I have almost the same problem with kdm. I did a fresh installation of testing, added two users and selected kdm as my default display manager. I wanted one of the users to be selected by default. But whatever I configure in kcontrol gets ignored. I am stuck with the "select previous user" behaviour. It seems that the kcontrol module for kdm just messes up the config file. Can someone fix this please? Greetings! Ronny -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe". Bug#284853: kde: Media handling from desktop icon is broken
Hi, I really dont want to be such a nag, but ... is there actually someone going to fix this? There where several new KDE versions in testing since I reported the bug but it is still not fixed. I am not a hardcore KDE developer, so I cant fix it myself. I am just a poor user wasting his time by using debian testing, constantly reporting bugs and hoping that one day debian gets useable... Hello Adeodato On Thu, 24 Feb 2005, Adeodato Simó wrote: * Tomas Pospisek [Wed, 23 Feb 2005 15:28:03 +0100]: This still happens under KDE 3.3.2. I get the exactly same behaveour as described in KDE bugreport http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=90073. I read your comment, but can't reproduce with acroread here. The crucial comment in the KDE bugreport is this one: _ I was just able to reproduce this bug as many times as I wanted. As soon _ as I restarted klipper it went away and I could not reproduce it any _ more. I can not reproduce the bug "from zero", that is from a fresh KDE start on, just like that. But once the bug happens, that is KDE's input "freezes", I can kill acroread to unfreeze KDE's input and from that point on reproduce the bug again and again /untill I kill klipper/ at which point the problem goes away. Any idea how that bugreport at KDE can be reopened? As far as KDE developers are concerned, the issue is fixed, since Qt 4.0 includes the fix (sure?) and they have a patch [1] in qt-copy that solves the issue.
