Bug#336305: kdm should launch Xsession with sh

2005-10-29 Thread Dimitri Ara
Package: kdm
Version: 4:3.4.2-4

kdm launches /etc/X11/Xsession with the user shell (zsh in my
case). This causes bugs. For example,
/etc/X11/Xsession.d/50xfree86-common_determine-startup (which is
sourced from /etc/X11/Xsession) contains :

grep -qs ^allow-user-xsession $OPTIONFILE

zsh expands ^allow-user-xession (to the list of files in the current
directory except allow-user-xession). A trivial workaround is to quote
^allow-user-xession. But this is clearly a bug of kdm, not of
Xsession. Xsession is a sh script (look at its first line) and so must
be launched with sh.

At least you should add

setopt noextendglob

in /etc/kde3/kdm/Xsession.

Re: Bug#336009: kalarm: crashes on anything sound-related after recent upgrades

2005-10-29 Thread Josh Metzler
reassign 336009 kdelibs 4:3.4.2-4
retitle 336009 kdelibs: causes random crashes in kde apps, needs recompile.
thanks

I found another crash caused by the gcc incompatibilities. KWrite crashed
when trying to save a php file using Save As. It is remarkably easy to
reproduce:

1) $ touch ~/empty.php
2) start kwrite
3) Bring up the File Open dialog
4) Make sure Automatic Previews are enabled
5) Select empty.php
crash
