Bug#348892: kdelibs-data: please use SSL/TLS certificates from ca-certificates package

2006-01-19 Thread Tobias Gruetzmacher
Package: kdelibs-data
Version: 4:3.5.0-3
Severity: wishlist

It would really be nice if KDE uses the SSL certificates from the
ca-certificates package instead of using its own file. Currently, it
only uses the certificates in /usr/share/apps/kssl/ca-bundle.crt. I
think, this could be made possible by making that a symlink to
/etc/ssl/certs/ca-certificates.crt and depending on ca-certificates.

Bug#348610: udev and legacy hotplug scripts

It seems to me that the hotplug script is invoked by udev instructed from the

Bug#348610: udev and legacy hotplug scripts

In KDE 3.5, it no longer does this. But yes, now I recall that it does do
what you say with KDE 3.4; however, this practice matches the scripts of
many other packages (libgphoto2, etc.) and still should not result in net
boot delays.

Sam Morris wrote:
The script /etc/hotplug/usb/logitechmouse causes a long delay during
boot, while udev waits 'for /dev to by fully populated'. From my tests,
it seems that DEVICE isn't even set in the script's environment, so the
script is timing out while waiting for a file with an empty file to be
created. I suggest adding something like this to the top of the script:

DEVICE, etc. should be passed from udev to the script. That's how the script
works (again, it's the same with libgphoto2).

Cheers,
Christopher Martin

Indeed, doing in /etc/udev :

you get many hits in libgphoto2.rules too. But when searching for the

My kcontrol is the latest in sid (3.5). Is this a bug of kcontrol ?

No, that file is generated by the packaging scripts of libgpghoto2-2. So
it's not listed as owned by that package.

Concerning libgphoto2.rules, package libgphoto2-2 does not provide that

Running Sid, libgphoto2-2 does provide /etc/hotplug/usb/libgphoto2

Bug#348958: kopete: dependency on obsolete libmeanwhile0 makes kopete uninstallable

2006-01-19 Thread Michael Biebl
Package: kopete
Version: 4:3.5.0-3
Severity: grave

kopete is linked against libmeanwhile0 which has been superseded by
libmeanwhile1. As libmeanwhile0 has been removed from the archive this
makes kopete uninstallable.

Regards,
Michael
