Bug#347369: kmail shows strange characters overlayed over email text

2006-02-02 Thread Ph. Marek
Although, on further reflection, this seems unuseable on some occasions.
And there are more visual problems.

The positioning of the quick-access-key-characters makes it hard to know which
key has which link associated.
And if the mouse is moved to the characters, but already reaches a link, the
link the mouse points to is shown in the statusline, but the character may
belong to another link.

Another visual problem:
While doing a screenshot, some of the characters have lost their background -
see the attached picture.

Regards,

Phil

Bug#347369: Acknowledgement (kmail shows strange characters overlayed over email text)

2006-02-02 Thread Ph. Marek
Another information: with 3.5.1 it seems to be mostly solved, apart from the
aesthetical markup-problem.

The characters are the quick-access keys (konqueror shows this help in the
status line); and with 3.5.1 they no longer appear somewhere in the document,
but only on links (eg. email addresses).

The minor issue is the visibility when marking text while showing these
quick-access keys.

Thank you.

Certainly.

After 'apt-get source kdeutils', sdd:

DEB_CONFIGURE_EXTRA_FLAGS := --without-xmms

to debian/rules. You can then remove xmms-dev from the Build-Depends in
debian/control, and build the package, though first you might want to edit
debian/changelog so that your locally rebuilt package has a higher version
number that the Sid package, or do something like:

echo "superkaramba hold" | dpkg --set-selections

to prevent the package from being upgraded automatically by apt-get,
aptitude, etc.

Cheers,
Christopher Martin

Would it be possible for the user to rebuild the package locally, i.e. some
apt-get source magic?

Cheers,
Kevin

kdewebdev override disparity

Hello,

Let's try to make it simple. ;-)

- kdesvn depends on kdesvn-kio-plugins;
- kdesvn-kio-plugins conflict with kdesdk-kio-plugins (see bug #345517)
- kdesdk depends on kdesdk-kio-plugins

so kdesdk and kdesvn can not be both installed.

kdesdk has a versioned dependency on kdesdk-kio-plugins so it's
imposible to make them both instalable by making kdesvn-kio-plugins
provide kdesdk-kio-plugins.

Apparently (but you should check with kdesvn maintainer) both
kdesdk-kio-plugins and kdesvn-kio-plugins provide the same
functionality. May it be possible to have kdesdk depends on
desdk-kio-plugins OR kdesvn-kio-plugins? That's what I have done with
my local compilation of kdesdk and everything has installed ok.

That would allow users to install both kdesdk and kdesvn without
having to select all kdesdk packages manualy.

Sincerely,

Yannick

Unfortunately, superkaramba is comprised of only one
binary, /usr/bin/superkaramba, so we can't split out XMMS support into a
separate package (if it were possible, we'd definitely do it).

For now, keeping XMMS support is probably a good idea, since XMMS is still a
popular package. But it is declining in popularity, and perhaps when KDE4
is uploaded post-Etch we'll finally disable it. Until then, you'll have to
have XMMS if you want superkaramba. But XMMS and gtk-1.2 don't take up much
space, and the Menu Editor can be used to remove XMMS from the KDE menu, so
it shouldn't really be a problem for users.

Cheers,
Christopher Martin

Bug#351063: keduca: shows questions and answers before the counter starts

2006-02-02 Thread Mathieu Roy
Package: keduca
Version: 4:3.5.0-4
Severity: normal

With keduca, you have the possibility of defining a time-span in which the user
is supposed to answer the question.

Problem: there is a dialog box that shows up, block the time count, and yet let
you read the question and answer, making the count virtually purposeless.

The dialog box itself seems to be more an annoyance than a feature, because it
implies that for each question, you get one more click. On a set of 100
questions, instead of 200 clicks, on reach 300 clicks... We should at least be
able to set off this dialog.

Bug#351062: keduca: always save as "compacted" unless we use "save as"

2006-02-02 Thread Mathieu Roy
Package: keduca
Version: 4:3.5.0-4
Severity: normal

keducabuilder always save tests as "compacted" unless we use "save as", which
is quite annoying since you end up being always forced to use "save as" when
you do not want compacted files.

Worse, each time you end up browsing file hieararchy because the file selector
always starts from your ~/

Bug#351055: keduca: slow as hell between each question when "randomize answers" is activated

2006-02-02 Thread Mathieu Roy
Package: keduca
Version: 4:3.5.0-4
Severity: normal

Keduca is slow as hell between each question when "randomize answers" is
activated.

It was not the case in the past (with the version in debian stable).

This is annoying because it is a very useful option, but waiting 5 seconds
between each question with the CPU at 100%, however powerful the computer is
(same effect with a decently recent P4 than with a venerable PII).

Bug#351029: kmail: crashes on startup

2006-02-02 Thread David Schmitt

Indeed, I installed 3.5.1-1 from incoming and kmail works again.

While I am aware, that KDE doesn't support partial upgrades, i would think
that the obviousness and severeness of this crash warrant a Conflict or an
appropriate Depends in kmail?

Bug#351029: kmail: crashes on startup

2006-02-02 Thread David Schmitt
Package: kmail
Version: 4:3.5.0-5+b1
Severity: important

Hi!

It seems as if kmail 3.5.0 has problems with the 3.5.1 libraries and
crashes on startup (see attached trace from kcrash).

Before upgrading the libraries, kmail worked without a hitch. Perhaps
this is related to http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=116773?

Package: kdeedu-doc-html
Version: 4:3.5.0-4
Severity: important

I've found that kdeedu-doc-html lacks a proper doc-base file for
kanagram, instead continuing to ship one that refers to the obsolete
kmessedwords package. On systems with dhelp installed and
kmessedwords garbage-collected (or never installed in the first
place), this resuls in an installation/upgrade error:

  Setting up kdeedu-doc-html (3.5.0-4) ...
cannot create dhelp file '/usr/share/doc/kde/HTML/en/kmessedwords/.dhelp': No
such file or directory
  dpkg: error processing kdeedu-doc-html (--configure):
subprocess post-installation script returned error exit status 2

Could you please fix this? I imagine it should be pretty straightforward.

BTW, I've also noticed that the kdeedu metapackage lacks a dependency
on kgeography; please let me know if you'd like a separate report for
that.

Thanks!

Package: kstars
Version: 4:3.5.0-3+b1

  Hello,

I'm trying to upgrade from KDE 3.4 to KDE 3.5 and I found the
following problem with dependencies:

Kstars asks for kstars-data 4:3.5.0-3+b1 but there is only
kstars-data 4:3.5.0-3

   The _exact_ error message is:

   kstars:
  Depende: kstars-data (=3D4:3.5.0-3+b1) pero se va a instalar 4:3.5.0-3

  Translation:
   kstars:
Depends: kstars-data (=3D4:3.5.0-3+b1) but 4:3.5.0-3 is going to be insta=
lled

I am running Debian sid on i386.

   Regards,
  Sergio

Klettres asks for klettres-data 4:3.5.0-3+b1 but there is only
klettres-data 4:3.5.0-3

   The _exact_ error message is:

   klettres:
  Depende: klettres-data (=3D4:3.5.0-3+b1) pero se va a instalar 4:3.5.0-3

  Translation:
   klettres:
Depends: klettres-data (=3D4:3.5.0-3+b1) but 4:3.5.0-3 is going to be ins=
talled

I am running Debian sid on i386

  Sergio
