Bug#360185: konqueror: please do not recommend ksvg
Package: konqueror Version: 4:3.5.2-1 Severity: wishlist #28 was fixed by making konqueror recommend ksvg. I don't see why it would be unusual to use konqueror without ksvg, so I think the proposed fix for the bug should be adopted instead. -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe". Bug#242400: Re: Bug#242400: libarts1c2a: artsd prevents remote session from disconnecting
Easy workaround: ~. in terminal from where you started ssh. This will make ssh to close connection immidiatly. Not a general solution of course, but will fit in many practical cases. -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe". Trouble? Contact [EMAIL PROTECTED]
Bug#242400: libarts1c2a: artsd prevents remote session from disconnecting
Package: libarts1c2a Version: 1.5.1-1 Followup-For: Bug #242400 If you ssh into a system, run a kde app (such as kuser, say), and quit that application and log out, the connection won't be released because arts is still running. This odd behavior has been around for a very long time now -- this bug report is two years old -- could someone please propose a solution? If artsd is started automatically when a KDE app is started (even though in most cases when you run remotely there's no call for it), can it be told to shut down when that KDE app is closed? The problem is, that knetworkmanager requires a recent NetworkManager (>= 0.6). Packages for 0.6.2 are ready, we are just waiting for wpasupplicant-0.4.8 which is a requirement for NM-0.6. The maintainer of the wpasupplicant package, promised to upload 0.4.8 this weekend. NM-0.6.2 will follow shortly after and knetworkmanager after NM-0.6.2. This should all happen in one weeks time. KNetworkManager?
Before going over to Debian, I used SUSE. In the betas that came out, a new tool, NetworkManager, was implemented to handle wired and wireless networks. Worked damn well too using the KDE front end, KNetworkManager. I noticed that NetworkManager is available in unstable as network-manager (and as network-manager-gnome, with the same package info, oddly enough), but I didn't see KNetworkManager. Is anyone planning on packaging/maintaining this? Its probably the slickest network tool I've seen yet, which is why I was wondering. Thanks, Joseph M. Bug#357396: marked as done (quanta: Quanta crashes when typing source code)
Your message dated Thu, 30 Mar 2006 07:32:14 -0800 with message-id <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> and subject line Bug#357396: fixed in kdewebdev 4:3.5.2-1 has caused the attached Bug report to be marked as done. This means that you claim that the problem has been dealt with. If this is not the case it is now your responsibility to reopen the Bug report if necessary, and/or fix the problem forthwith. (NB: If you are a system administrator and have no idea what I am talking about this indicates a serious mail system misconfiguration somewhere. Please contact me immediately.) Debian bug tracking system administrator (administrator, Debian Bugs database) --- Begin Message --- Package: quanta Version: 4:3.5.1-1 Severity: important Quanta crashes very often when typing source code. Machine instability has been ruled out using several tests (memory, CPU, power, etc.). CPU: Pentium 4 3.0GHz with HT support enabled Kernel: 2.6.14-686-SMP Other applications seems to work properly and does not crash, so overall system stability is OK. This bug could be related to parsing activity when typing new text. Quanta crashes more frequently when typing block structures near the end of the document before closing the block, statement or other syntactical unit. Several other WEB developers reported crashes with similar behaviour. Changes made since the last save are lost when Quanta crashes, so it is very annoying. Bug#360081: kate: Kate is advided for "large files" but gets unusable on a 2.7M file
Package: kate Version: 4:3.5.1-1 Severity: minor "apt-cache show kate" shows that kate is for "Editing of big files". As I have some problems editing large files with other editors (nedit turned out to be the only usable one, so I use it despite its lesstif related problems), I installed kate and tried to open my first large .sql file. On my Pentium M 1.7Ghz, it needs some minutes 100% CPU to refresh its screen. It gets better when I disable dynamic word wrapping, but then it breaks completely when I scroll to the right. I've to admit that it's a special file, it's a PostGIS SQL dump of an admin area, so of the 2.7 MB, there are 12 lines of SQL commands and one line with 2.7MB length. For comparison, nedit keeps usable, and never lags/freezes more than 1-2 seconds, with dynamic word wrapping on. Your message dated Thu, 30 Mar 2006 03:47:12 -0800 with message-id <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> and subject line Bug#344377: fixed in kdeedu 4:3.5.2-1 has caused the attached Bug report to be marked as done. Rather than taking that approach, just install the font in /usr/share/fonts/truetype and it should Just Work. Also, if the font is in any way useful outside of the game (meaning not just random symbols), then you might consider putting it in a separate ttf-steve package. - Josh Triplett signature.asc Description: OpenPGP digital signature --- End Message --- --- Begin Message --- Source: kdeedu Source-Version: 4:3.5.2-1 We believe that the bug you reported is fixed in the latest version of kdeedu, which is due to be installed in the Debian FTP archive: blinken_3.5.2-1_i386.deb to pool/main/k/kdeedu/blinken_3.5.2-1_i386.deb kalzium-data_3.5.2-1_all.deb to pool/main/k/kdeedu/kalzium-data_3.5.2-1_all.deb kalzium_3.5.2-1_i386.deb to pool/main/k/kdeedu/kalzium_3.5.2-1_i386.deb kanagram_3.5.2-1_i386.deb to pool/main/k/kdeedu/kanagram_3.5.2-1_i386.deb kbruch_3.5.2-1_i386.deb to pool/main/k/kdeedu/kbruch_3.5.2-1_i386.deb kdeedu-data_3.5.2-1_all.deb to pool/main/k/kdeedu/kdeedu-data_3.5.2-1_all.deb kdeedu-dbg_3.5.2-1_i386.deb to pool/main/k/kdeedu/kdeedu-dbg_3.5.2-1_i386.deb kdeedu-doc-html_3.5.2-1_all.deb to pool/main/k/kdeedu/kdeedu-doc-html_3.5.2-1_all.deb kdeedu_3.5.2-1.diff.gz to pool/main/k/kdeedu/kdeedu_3.5.2-1.diff.gz kdeedu_3.5.2-1.dsc to pool/main/k/kdeedu/kdeedu_3.5.2-1.dsc kdeedu_3.5.2-1_all.deb to pool/main/k/kdeedu/kdeedu_3.5.2-1_all.deb kdeedu_3.5.2.orig.tar.gz to pool/main/k/kdeedu/kdeedu_3.5.2.orig.tar.gz keduca_3.5.2-1_i386.deb to pool/main/k/kdeedu/keduca_3.5.2-1_i386.deb kgeography-data_3.5.2-1_all.deb to pool/main/k/kdeedu/kgeography-data_3.5.2-1_all.deb kgeography_3.5.2-1_i386.deb to pool/main/k/kdeedu/kgeography_3.5.2-1_i386.deb khangman_3.5.2-1_i386.deb to pool/main/k/kdeedu/khangman_3.5.2-1_i386.deb kig_3.5.2-1_i386.deb to pool/main/k/kdeedu/kig_3.5.2-1_i386.deb kiten_3.5.2-1_i386.deb to pool/main/k/kdeedu/kiten_3.5.2-1_i386.deb klatin_3.5.2-1_i386.deb to pool/main/k/kdeedu/klatin_3.5.2-1_i386.deb klettres-data_3.5.2-1_all.deb to pool/main/k/kdeedu/klettres-data_3.5.2-1_all.deb klettres_3.5.2-1_i386.deb to pool/main/k/kdeedu/klettres_3.5.2-1_i386.deb kmplot_3.5.2-1_i386.deb to pool/main/k/kdeedu/kmplot_3.5.2-1_i386.deb kpercentage_3.5.2-1_i386.deb to pool/main/k/kdeedu/kpercentage_3.5.2-1_i386.deb kstars-data_3.5.2-1_all.deb to pool/main/k/kdeedu/kstars-data_3.5.2-1_all.deb kstars_3.5.2-1_i386.deb to pool/main/k/kdeedu/kstars_3.5.2-1_i386.deb ktouch_3.5.2-1_i386.deb to pool/main/k/kdeedu/ktouch_3.5.2-1_i386.deb kturtle_3.5.2-1_i386.deb to pool/main/k/kdeedu/kturtle_3.5.2-1_i386.deb kverbos_3.5.2-1_i386.deb to pool/main/k/kdeedu/kverbos_3.5.2-1_i386.deb kvoctrain_3.5.2-1_i386.deb to pool/main/k/kdeedu/kvoctrain_3.5.2-1_i386.deb kwordquiz_3.5.2-1_i386.deb to pool/main/k/kdeedu/kwordquiz_3.5.2-1_i386.deb libkdeedu-dev_3.5.2-1_i386.deb to pool/main/k/kdeedu/libkdeedu-dev_3.5.2-1_i386.deb libkdeedu3_3.5.2-1_i386.deb to pool/main/k/kdeedu/libkdeedu3_3.5.2-1_i386.deb libkiten-dev_3.5.2-1_i386.deb to pool/main/k/kdeedu/libkiten-dev_3.5.2-1_i386.deb libkiten1_3.5.2-1_i386.deb to pool/main/k/kdeedu/libkiten1_3.5.2-1_i386.deb A summary of the changes between this version and the previous one is attached. Bug#242641: order of entries in /etc/pam.d/kdm
Yo! I was hitting the '/etc/environment not read' problem and found this bug report. (i) I use kde from backports.org, so I don't know about the current state in kde/sid. (ii) is #242641 really about the order of entries in kdm or should I file a separate bug report? (iii) The obvious item on this list: are you going to do anything about it? I strongly suspect that the upstream tag is not appropriate for this issue, but I'll not remove the tag because the bug title speaks about something completely different. Please see the bug's history on why, I'm not competent enough to comment. cheers -- vbi -- Serving coffee on aircraft causes turbulence. pgp1Vr2LPvO2i.pgp Description: PGP signature

Bug#356876: Problems with kdelibs 3.5.1-4 (SID)
[cut all] I couldn't reproduce this problem with KDE upgraded to 3.5.2 (partial upgrade, but at least konqueror was upgraded). Please verify this and close the bug if appropriate (KDE bug was closed beforehand). Regards, Robert W polskim Internecie są setki milionów stron.
