I am using KMail for my mails. I use GPG for encrypting the mails.
As you are aware, GPG intergrates properly with KMail (as far as usage
is concerned).

When I send an encrypted message to a mutt user <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>, mutt
does not recognise it as encrypted mail. The user has to save the msg and
then decrypt it manually.
This mutt user is using testing release and updates every two days.

The same used to happen while sending message to that user from pine earlier.

Also, when that user sends me an encrypted message, the following is what I
see in my mail body:

> > Encrypted message
> > Cannot decrypt message.
> >
> >
> >
> > Content could *not* be decrypted.
> >
> > reason:No Crypto plug-in settings found.
> > proposal:Please specify a plug-in from the 'Settings->Configure
> > KMail->Security' dialog.
> >
> >
> > End of encrypted message

Interestingly, when I send out encrypted messages to a pine user
<[EMAIL PROTECTED]>, that user, gets the messages properly from my Kmail.

Is there a plugin that is a part of mutt that is absent for kmail??
Why is Kmail not complatible with messages coming from mutt?

Package: kmail
Version: 4:3.1.5-1
Severity: critical
Justification: causes serious data loss

1. Begin kmail
2. Edit mbox with kmail
* changes are not saved by kmail (!)
3. Edit mbox with mutt or procmail
* changes are saved by mutt as they are made
* procmail ... is procmail, so changes are saved
4. Exit kmail
* changes made in step 2 are saved
* changes made in step 3 are lost !!

When the changes made in step 3 include adding messages to an mbox file,
those messages are lost. Since I use procmail to sort my mail, leave
lots of programs (like kmail) running on my computer all the time and
check my mail remotely with mutt, this makes kmail unusable for me.

Thanks for all your work! I'd like to use kmail: multiple identities,
snappy kde, smooth gpg, addressbook integration... very nice.

Hi,

I have configured my KDE fonts as I like them, and it works fine allover
KDE. But in kmail I want to use a mono spaced font for message display
and not the default non mono fonts. So I turned on the switch, so I can
set my fonts for kmail myself.

When I do this and I select my normal Header display mode "standard",
the subject is displayed in bold anymore as so are the infos from gpg
and so on. And there is no way to turn it on somewhere. The font
supports bold weight.

Seems like a bug for upstream.

Best regards,
Oliver

I get this if I run it from commandline, unfortunately I have gdb but can't get

working, it only didn't want to send mail through SMTP. Then after I restarted
KDE it
started crashing. I removed all kde* with apt-get remove --purge and kwin,
kicker, ksmserver,
ksysguardd, *qt*, *arts*, removed ~/.kde and installed KDE 3.1.5 but it still
crashes.

I use kmail in gnome 1.4 environment.

Sometimes - not always - kmail doesn't permit me work with received mail
attachments:
putting the mouse on them indicates something like "part:2", and the
corresponding right
button operations are "open URL:" and "View" (if I remember correctly).

In this situation I cannot do nothing with the attachments.

The last time it happened, was resolved opening a nested kde session. There,
all right.
The only thing: konqueror hung up. Coming back to the parent gnome session, all
was right.

I remember that while the attachments didn't work, "ps ax" produced a line like
"kdeinit:
dcopserver --nosid --suicide", while the "--suicide" arg wasn't present during
the nested
kde session. However, another time it appears going back to the original gnome
session with
kmail running (this way without attachment problems).

Justification: renders package unusable

I am resubmitting this bug, as it has reappeared after it
seemed fixed several weeks ago. There have been kde library
updates in that time. I believe this problem is specific
to the debian kmail package; I could not get a yellowdog
system to repeat the crash. If you wish I will submit upstream
as well. Here's the crash trace:

Bug#362700: kmail: cached-IMAP bugs maybe fixed in 3.5.3; please pull in changes

2006-04-14 Thread Adam Porter
Package: kmail
Version: 4:3.5.2-1
Severity: important

-BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-
Hash: SHA1

There are some serious IMAP bugs in KMail as of now and several previous
versions, like:

http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=106030

However, at
 it says:

KMail
* Fix crash in disconnected IMAP (rev 526818)

Could Debian perhaps pull in that branch rev to possibly fix these bugs sooner
than the 3.5.3 release?

Bug#362677: ark: shouldn't recommend arj

2006-04-14 Thread Filipus Klutiero
Package: ark
Version: 4:3.5.2-1
Severity: minor

Upstream #104404 requests arj support in ark. Yet, ark recommends
arj...I never used arj, but a quick look showed that ark failed to open
arj archives, and apparently doesn't let create some.
If I missed some arj support, I think it would be good to downgrade the
dependency level to a Suggests anyway.

Bug#362653: konqueror: error message uses wrong encoding

2006-04-14 Thread Jens Seidel
Package: konqueror
Version: 4:3.5.1-1
Severity: minor

Hi,

I was recently out of disk space and tried to find a new hard disk on my
favourite shop. The following warning occured:

Speichern der Lesezeichen in /home/jens/.kde/share/apps/konqueror/bookmarks.xml
nicht möglich. Der angegebene Fehler lautet: Auf dem Gerät ist kein
Speicherplatz mehr verfügbar. Die Meldung wird nur einmal angezeigt. Die
Ursache sollte so rasch wie möglich beseitigt werden. Wahrscheinlich ist die
Festplattenkapazität erschöpft.

English:
Could not save bookmarks in /home/jens/.kde/share/apps/konqueror/bookmarks.xml.
The returned error is: No diskspace available on device. The message is
displayed
only once. Fix the problem as soon as possible. Probably the hard disk is full.

The problem is that the returned error message is wrongly encoded.

Whereas the system used UTF-8 as default, konqueror assumes ASCII (latin1).
Expected: "Auf dem Gerät ist kein Speicherplatz mehr verfügbar."
Recieved: "Auf dem Gerät ist kein Speicherplatz mehr verfügbar."

That's the result of converting an UTF-8 encoded string from latin1 to UTF-8.

Jens

Ark confused me by telling that zip is not in the path (and it did not
load a zipped file). Package zip was installed. Then I found out that it
was really "unzip" which was needed by ark, and it wasn't installed. So
the error message was a little bit misguiding.

Bug#362634: kdebase-kio-plugins: Mounting vfat usb-thingies goes well, but the progress indicator never dissapears

2006-04-14 Thread Sune Vuorela
Package: kdebase-kio-plugins
Version: 4:3.5.2-1
Severity: important

When trying to plugin a ext3 formatted memstick, a dialog box appeaers
asking what to do. If I choose 'open in new window' a information box
with a mounting progress bar appears, it mounts, the information box
with the progress bar dissapears and a konqueror window appears with
access to the memstick.

Trying the same thing with a vfat-formatted memstick, does almost work
the same way, except sometimes, the information window with the progress
bar never dissapears, but I have full access to the memstick.

Any help to provide more info is appreciated.

/Sune
