Bug#363000: kmail: KMail should allow to specify a default SMTP server for each mail account

2006-04-16 Thread Ferenczi Viktor
Package: kmail

Severity: wishlist

KMail should allow to specify a default outgoing mail (SMTP) server for each
sender (configured mail account). This can ease the life for users with
multiple e-mail accounts and associated SMTP(S) services.

Bug#362998: quanta: Quanta eats all of CPU and it's GUI freezes when creating new file in a WebDAV based project

2006-04-16 Thread Ferenczi Viktor
Package: quanta
Version: 4:3.5.2-1
Severity: important

Create an empty, WebDAV enabled folder on a WEB server.
The folder is accessed via webdavs on port 1443 and
works fine with konqueror (webdavs://server.domain:1443)

Open Quanta on the client and create a new project.
Select WebDAV and configure the secure WebDAV access
on port 1443 as usual. The project should be created
successfully (but a bit slowly varying on your network
speed to the server).

Create a new index.php file in your project by right
clicking the root node in the project tree and selecting
new file. Enter index.php as the file name.

The index.php file will be created in the WEB folder,
but quanta will eat 100% CPU with a frozen GUI on the
client. It remains frozen after 30 minutes and must be
killed.

I reproduced this bug three times with identical result.
The bug occours when adding files to the project from
the WEB folder.

There is if you upgrade to the latest xorg packages.

Ideally, packages should still be updated to reference /usr/bin instead of
/usr/X11R6/bin, but this is no longer required for etch.

If the maintainers are going to point to /usr/bin/X for etch, one of two
things is required:

- provide a fallback to /usr/X11R6/bin/X if /usr/bin/X is not found, or
- depend on x11-common (>= 1:7.0.0)

and I would strongly advise *against* the latter, since it will make it much
harder for apt to calculate an upgrade path from sarge to etch.

Bug#362972: nice to have: an external interface for stop, skip to next, etc

2006-04-16 Thread Steve M. Robbins
Package: juk
Version: 4:3.5.2-2
Severity: wishlist

It would be nice to have a way to hook up those special "Play",
"Stop", "Reverse" and "Forward" keys on my keyboard to juk.

The package "hotkeys", for example, can be configured to run
a command like "xmms --stop". It would be nice if Juk had
a similar command-line interface.

Bug#362968: kdeadmin-kfile-plugins: kfile_deb not used by default

2006-04-16 Thread Filipus Klutiero
Package: kdeadmin-kfile-plugins
Version: 4:3.5.2-1
Severity: important
Tags: upstream

kfile_deb is not used by default since the kfile_deb.desktop uses
x-debian-package while kfile reports .deb-s as x-deb. This makes the
part of this package that should be the most useful on Debian broken by
default, so I'm marking important. I have opened #125692 to request a
fix from upstream.

Version 7.0.12 of x11-common and xserver-xorg should fix this IMHO.

When I choose "undo", the score is not updated. It remains the same as before
the undo, even though the actual count is now different.

Depending on the circumstanses, this can make you loose a game you should have
won, or make you win a game by more than 64.

Bug#362939: kdepim-dev need recompilation against lates x-dev packages

2006-04-16 Thread Michael Meskes
Package: kdepim-dev
Version: 4:3.5.2-1
Severity: normal

kdepim-dev still references .la libtool files, that no longer exist.
E.g. /usr/lib/libkonnector.la references /usr/lib/libXcursor.la and
/usr/lib/libXrender.la. This makes all packages build-depending on
kdepim-dev ftfbs. A recompilation as done with kdelibs4-dev should fix
this.

I can verify that it completely nuked my Debian install. Had to restart from
scratch using Kubuntu.

Whoops, missed this thread.

First of all, thanks to Peter for merging the changes and looking after
CDBS generally.

Guilty as charged :) Now that debhelper excludes them, and we
build-depend on a recent debhelper, I've dropped that line from
debian-qt-kde.mk. Thanks for the tip.

Upon running kmail, if you have an email that you click on in the inbox the
contents of that email are replaced with a blank email with blank To: From: and
no body. Exiting the application does not return the email to the spool.
Dropping to a console and viewing the mail spool from there shows the email
has, in fact, been replaced. See bug #130346 for information regarding what
happens when you *do* exit the program.

Current setup uses a local mail spool account. Upon exiting kmail, all emails
in the current mail spool are deleted. (Yes, I've checked ~/mail, ~/Mail, and
the spool file directly.)

I lost over 800 emails in one fell swoop. Not a very happy camper, but, such is
the price of running unstable. :-)

To verify the action I created a script to repopulate the mail spool with 256
blank emails (subject only). Once again, kmail deleted all emails.

There is also a second bug but I'll file a seperate one for that.

Is this still happening with current versions of KMail? I've had no such
problems. Does it happen with a clean config file? Can you try running
KMail as a different user?

If it's still happening despite all that, please post some info like:

Is this still happening? Please try upgrading your KDE packages in general.
I suspect this was not a problem with KMail, but a problem with KDE or other
libraries. I've seen crashes like this in the past that were caused by, for
example, running a version of KMail from testing while using kdelibs from
unstable. If so, I don't think this is exactly a KMail bug.

kdebase-kio-plugins

Everything there looks fine to me (it depends on the right version of kdelibs,
etc.), except for the kio-plugins, which don't have a version specified.
Shouldn't those also depend on the same version, i.e. 4:3.5.2-1?

Did this just start happening? Does it happen if you run kmail under a
different user account? Do any other KDE PIM apps crash? Could you attach
the backtrace from the kcrash handler?

Is this really a KMail bug? Aren't colors in filenames part of maildir in
general, not KMail? If so, it seems like this is...more of a general maildir
incompatibility with Windows/Samba than a KMail bug.

2006-04-16 Thread Adam Porter
I'm not sure what this egroupware xmlrpc thing is. Is that a remote
addressbook link/thing? :) If so, are you saying KMail is freezing when it
tries to look things up in it? If so, are you saying that it's caused not by
KMail specifically, but by the egroupware thing? Is it a problem in
egroupware causing a problem in KMail, which shouldn't hang because of an
egroupware problem? Who should this be assigned to/filed under?

It's been six months, are you still having this problem? If so, maybe you
could give some more info like:

* Your folder structure
* How many messages, in which folders
* How many search folders, and what each search consists of

This may have been fixed since 3.3.2, but if not, well, searches take time,
but they shouldn't cause freezes.

If I'm firing up kmail, creating new mail and typing several letters in

and not works anymore.

Since I made an upgrade of kmail, maybe one or two weeks ago, SSL/TLS
doesn't work anymore. Whenever I try to fetch or send emails using SSL or

progress bar hangs forever. Sending and fetching mails without encryption
still works though.

Kmail "forgets" the count of read and unread mails in several folders
frequently. Especially in the case where mails are moved to different
folders than incoming due to filtering, they are not recognized as new
unread mails in the folder they have been moved to. This way you cannot
recognize that there are new mails in these folders until you click on them.
Only then the counts get updated and new emails are counted as such
and also the folder name is displayed bold as it should be.

Probably unrelated to this bug: After I applied "compress all folders" I have
some unwanted additional folders such as inbox.compacted
That may have happened because I am really low on disk space and probably
had a disk full during compression?

Hi,

I just encountered Problems reading Mails in IMAP-Folders.
Sometimes if I select a Mail in the list (top-right hand side)
it would not show up in the message area (bottom right hand side).
selecting another Mail (which in some cases does not show up either)
and reselecting the previous one brings up the message.

I coukd reproduce this only for IMAP-folders but not always.

Greetings
Chris

It's been 1.5 years, and I suspect it was caused by the IMAP server not
responding. General improvements in the KDE IMAP code have probably resolved
this, and it WORKSFORME. :) Closing.

thanks

Marc,

It's been a while, several versions have passed. Could you post a backtrace
from 3.5.2 so I can forward it to KDE?

Thanks,
Adam

Rune, are you still getting this behavior with the current version of KMail?
3.1.5 was a long time ago. :)

Bug#280287: Can not test

2006-04-16 Thread helmut
Sorry, I don't have access to an NFS server anymore so
I can't test if problem still exists.

If you think it's appropriate just close the bug report,
it's in the kde-BTS anyway.

Helmut
