Bug#367802: if /tmp is completly empty and kde is started as user, directory rights in tmp are wrong
Package: kde Version: 5:45 Severity: important Situation: completly clean /tmp directory. Also all . directories (like ..ICE-Unix .X11... etc are removed) if kde is started as a normal user, the .ICE-Unix directory is created as 777 with user/group of the user who started kde, but kde crashes during start with this error KLibrary: /usr/kde/lib/kcm_kdnssd.so: undefined symbol: init_kdnssd after this X quites with an error. Now if you changed the user/group of the .ICE-Unix directory to root/root you can start kde normal again. -- System Information: Debian Release: testing/unstable APT prefers testing APT policy: (650, 'testing'), (500, 'unstable'), (1, 'experimental') Architecture: i386 (i686) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Kernel: Linux 2.6.16.11 Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=ja_JP.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Versions of packages kde depends on: ii kde-amusements5:45 the K Desktop Environment games an ii kde-core 5:45 the K Desktop Environment core mod ii kdeaddons 4:3.5.2-1 add-on plugins and applets provide ii kdeadmin 4:3.5.2-1 system adminstration tools from th ii kdeartwork4:3.5.2-1 themes, styles and more from the o ii kdegraphics 4:3.5.2-1 graphics apps from the official KD ii kdemultimedia 4:3.5.2-2 multimedia apps from the official ii kdenetwork4:3.5.1-2 network-related apps from the offi ii kdepim4:3.5.2-1 KDE Personal Information Managemen ii kdeutils 4:3.5.2-1 general purpose utilities from the ii kdewebdev 4:3.4.3-2 web development apps from the offi kde recommends no packages. -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe". Debian bug tracking system administrator (administrator, Debian Bugs database) --- Begin Message --- Package: kdelibs-data Version: 4:3.5.2-2 Severity: normal When you execute the command grep -E "=\*\" `dpkg --listfiles kdelibs-data | grep mimelnk` you'll see that some .desktop-files define file name patterns to match both upper case and lower case extensions while others only contain a pattern to match lower case extensions. This seems to be completely arbitrary. E.g. the pattern in x-python.desktop is *.py while the pattern in x-ruby.desktop is *.rb;*.RB;*.ruby;*.RUBY. I think this should be unified so all Patterns also match the upper case form of the listed extensions. Files created on a Windows system often have an upper case extension. With the current situation such files are not associated with the appropriate programs in many cases. Furthermore I think there is no rease to consider the file program.py to be a Phython program and program.PY not to.
