Bug#368883: rev 3896 - in trunk/packages/qt4-x11/debian: . patches

 Modified:

trunk/packages/qt4-x11/debian/patches/17_alpha_ice.dpatch
 Log:
Reverted the alpha patch update since it didn't work. Let's just fix
 the damn compiler instead.

sadly qt4 nneeds to enter testing.

I'm currently building a qt4 version on escher where I add in
opengl.pro:
QMAKE_CXXFLAGS_HIDESYMS -= -fvisibility-inlines-hidden

this is a bit of magic, but it seemed to worked correctly (at least, the
compilation has already compiled the FTBFS-ing part). If the
compilation works, I really think that fix should be uploaded as a
temporary solution, until alpha is fixed.

but that problem exist on gcc 4.{0,1,2} and is unlikely to be fixed very
soon :'(

Bug#370475: ksysguard: Process GID column shows PID

2006-06-05 Thread Roger Leigh
Package: ksysguard
Version: 4:3.5.3-1
Severity: normal

If I right-click in the process table, and select Show Column-GID, the
GID column does not display the GID as expected. It appears that the
column is actually the process group ID (PGID), rather than the GID, so
this may just be a confusing mislabelling.

It would be nice if this was renamed to PGID in the program and
documentation. Also, displaying the actual GID would also be a nice
feature request.

Regards,
Roger

please don't upload any new versions untill it's entered testing. RM's
are not very pleased of the qt4 mess, and testing needs it to unblock
etch for a lot of packages (mostly because of avahi).

the two arches where it FTBFS (m68k and s390) are not release candidate
and do not worth an upload yet.

now that this thing is over, note that you *REALLY* should have uploaded
a fixed 4.1.2 version for alpha, before the 4.1.3. there is too many
things depending upon qt to upload new releases untested, when there is
known compilation problems.

NB: the workaround I choose was to disable -fvisibilty-inlines-hidden in
the opengl module. I've tested the patch on escher and it worked.
This is of course very nasty and has to be removed as soon as
#369642 / http://gcc.gnu.org/PR27082 is fixed.

I suppose this might be a wishlist item, but it seems like such a
fundamental omission that I can only imagine it's a bug.

I can't select text, in order to paste it into another application. Not
 even as plain text.

kghostview is mainly gs frontend, kpdf should now be instead for viewing
pdf (and do have text copy feature).

Hangs and suck too much CPU time, when give it non-pdf
files with pdf extension. Looks like buffer overflow,
 can cause severe security hole.

I can not reproduce this behaviour, doing this with files from various
format, I just get a message saying something like can not open file of
type toto/titi;
So I'm closing this bug report, but if you can reproduce it, please reopen
it providing the file causing the problem.

thanks,

Bug#238442: I don't think this bug exists anymore

2006-06-05 Thread Graham

Hi,

I don't think this (very old) bug exists anymore. I'm running KDE
3.5.3 now, and Nimbus Sans L seems to be working fine.

I have no idea when it was fixed. I switched to Bitstream Vera as a
workaround to this bug, and have never switched back.
