Bug#375258: kmail: wishlist( archiving old email )

2006-06-24 Thread Gordon Haverland
Package: kmail
Version: 4:3.5.2-1+b2
Severity: wishlist

kmail (and ALL other email client packages) need a way of archiving OLD
emails! Ideally, this should be a method which can either generate a
file based archive (compressed tar?) or output to a database (SQL).

The latest KDE also includes its own inotify support, so gamin doesn't
add anything to KDE either. Thus there would be no reason for us to
adopt gamin as a KDE team package. (Of course I can't speak for all
team members as individual developers.)

Bug#375233: akregator: Default command for external browser doesn't work

2006-06-24 Thread Stefan Borggraefe
Package: akregator
Version: 4:3.5.2-1+b2
Severity: minor

The current default command for the external browser

firefox -remote 'openURL(%u,new-tab)'

doesn't work if firefox isn't already started. However

firefox %u

always works. Please change the default for this setting to the latter
command. Thanks! :-)

Bug#375226: RFA: gamin -- File and directory monitoring system

2006-06-24 Thread Josselin Mouette
Package: wnpp
Severity: normal

The GNOME team is willing to give away maintainership of the gamin
package. The GNOME VFS library now has builtin inotify support, making
gamin useless on a GNOME desktop. Furthermore, it has some nasty bugs
and is unmaintained upstream.

Bug#374214: Improve integration of of kdmrc changes done from KDE and those from dpkg

Well, I doubt we either could or would want to change the way conffiles
are updated by dpkg. I think that by getting upstream to fix how kdmrc
is altered by the KDM Control Centre module (not stripping comments,
etc.), then users updating would get a usable amount of 'diff' output
to judge whether or not to replace their kdmrc or keep their own
copies.

Christopher Martin

This was just committed upstream, so the next package will contain the
fix. We're just waiting for Daniel Schepler to upload kdepim 3.5.3 and
his other modules, for the time being...
