qt4-x11 override disparity

2006-10-31 Thread Debian Installer
There are disparities between your recently accepted upload and the
override file for the following file(s):

qt4-designer_4.2.1-2_i386.deb: package says section is devel, override says kde.

Either the package or the override file is incorrect. If you think
the override is correct and the package wrong please fix the package
so that this disparity is fixed in the next upload. If you feel the
override is incorrect then please reply to this mail and explain why.

[NB: this is an automatically generated mail; if you replied to one
like it before and have not received a response yet, please ignore
this mail. Your reply needs to be processed by a human and will be in
due course, but until then the installer will send these automated
mails; sorry.]

Bug#394534: kpilot: Confirmation of this bug

2006-10-31 Thread Johannes Ranke
Package: kpilot
Followup-For: Bug #394534

I have exactly the same problem. kpilot 3.5.4-1 works and kpilot
generally has worked well for a long time for me. After upgrading to
kpilot 3.5.5-1 neither the addressbook nor the calendar are synced any
more. I downgraded to 3.5.4-1 - problem gone.

Cheers,

Johannes Ranke

Thanks for the tip; QT += opengl (instead of CONFIG += opengl) does
exactly what I was expecting.

However, the current etch docs may be out of date. My
  file:///usr/share/qt4/doc/html/qmake-variable-reference.html
makes no mention at all of a QT variable, and lists opengl along
with all the others used via CONFIG.

Package: libqt4-dev
Version: 4.2.0-2
Severity: normal

qmake with QT += sql adds the following dependency: -lmysqlclient_r
This only works if libmysqlclient15-dev is installed ...

If I recall correctly, prior to version 4.2 of this package, qmake
didn't generate a Makefile with -lmysqlclient_r and -lsqlite and -lpq.

Why has this changed in 4.2 ?

[A bit reformated so that it is almost readable in a mailreader.]

This is due to the fact the GNU (GNU/Hurd) is not detected in the actual
Makefile, that's why I propose a patch fixing this (as a dpatch, see
the first attached file). I'm not sure that upstream has to add anything
specific for that OS; at least the build runs OK.

A second issue is the unconditional use of PATH_MAX, which is a POSIX
incompatibility (as briefly described on the hurd-devel-debian page[1]).

 1. http://www.debian.org/ports/hurd/hurd-devel-debian

Since this problem is being fixed directly with upstream AFAIK, I
include as a second attachment another dpatch, which is a workaround
to that, setting PATH_MAX to an arbitrary value using #ifndef/#define,
so that the package could be built before upstream releases a new
version of some files.

[Here ends my important bug report, what follows is wishlist but is
related to what's just written above, so I guess I'd better put it
alltogether.]

Since I noticed that mkspecs files were available for hurd-g++, I
decided to give theme a try, patching debian/rules to use the following
flag:  -platform hurd-g++

I noticed several troubles (located in the mkspecs/hurd-g++/* files):
 -lICE is missing
 -lpthread(s?) is missing

As the package is built correctly (TTBOMK) with linux-g++, I'd suggest
that upstream synchronizes hurd-g++ directory from linux-g++ by copying
it, so that it could be used some day for some hurd-specific options.
At the moment, that mkspecs file is really outdated.

Thanks for your attention. Cheers,

--
Cyril Brulebois

PS: I'd tag the whole upstream but I guess that applying my diffes as
dpatches is an option until upstream has accepted (or not) them, thus I
don't. Feel free to fix this if I'm wrong.

I'm usually connected to the freenode network and connected to one
channel. since a system update about a week ago kopete is really slow
when I'm in a irc channel. as long as I don't log in to irc, everything
is fine.
beeing slow means, that it takes at least over 30 seconds that something
happens when i click something. also, when the window is hidden, and
it's displayed again, it takes about the same amount of time until the
kopete window is redrawn.

NOTE: this is since an update about a week ago.

I think that's been updated in the 4.2 docs. However, you still have
this:
