Bug#321277: About your bug #321277 kxsldbg: Doesn't honor file encoding in Debian BTS

2008-01-25 Thread Ana Guerrero

 Hello Ana,
I don't have a KDE bugzilla account, and I don't intend to open one.

Here's what I tried to post:

 The input files are UTF-8.
kxsldbg displays them as if they were Latin-1. So it seems like kxsldbg
defaults to using Latin-1 as default output charset.

The files (they're attached here, too) contain a proper XML encoding
specification, and thus should not need any user-defined file type
hacks. kxsldbg should just use the encoding specified in the XML file.

Configure Editor doesn't do anything here, no dialog to input any
 settings.

It still crashes here, using versions
 kxsldbg3.5.8
 kdelibs3.5.8.dfsg.1
 libxml22.6.31.dfsg
 libxslt1.1 1.1.22

P.S. With the file name pattern comment I was referring to the open
file dialog extension patterns. It includes odd stuff such as .Xsl, but
 lacks the obvious .xslt
I don't see a reason why this would have to wait for KDE 4.

Well, the KDE development now is 99% focused in KDE 4, specially now it has
been released :) Still, there will be some bugfixes for KDE 3, but only for
very important bugs or for bugs the app maintainter is motivated to fix (in a
lot of cases backporting fixes i guess).

I'll paste your answer in the KDE SVN.

Ana

Please remove qt-gtk-engine - or wait for a newer version in some days.

I have no problems with a fixed gtk-qt-engine

Do you know how could I do for renaming a folder of a MIDI 3D jumper?

You must explore with the prompt for receiving the GUI to the laser display.

Bug#462583: kword: wrong foreground color

2008-01-25 Thread Ryo Furue
Package: kword
Version: 1:1.6.3-3+lenny1
Severity: normal

I set the KDE background colors to dark gray and foreground colors to
white. kword uses my background color but not my foreground. The
result is black text on dark gray, which is hard to see. I think if
you use the KDE background, then you should use the KDE foreground,
too; and if you ignore the foreground, then you should ignore the
background, too. (For example, the Writer of OpenOffice ignores the
KDE colors and simply shows black text on a white background, which is
good.)

I know a workaround is to customize colors in kword (not tested,
though), but I think the default behavior should better be fixed.

By the way, I tried to submit this bug to the KDE bug tracking system,
but it didn't allow me to proceed on the ground that Debian's KDE
(version 3.4.3, right?) is too old.

Best regards,
Ryo
