libspeex1.2~beta3 update soon, please check your package(s)

2008-03-19 Thread Ron

Hi,

You've received this because a shell script determined that you, or a
team address you get mail for, are among the people responsible for
dependencies of libspeex1. If the script was wrong, or you got too
many copies, my apologies, I'll have it taken out and shot shortly ...

The short story is, libspeex 1.2beta3 removes all the symbols from
libspeex that upstream had formerly declared were not part of its
stable API. All of those symbols are now provided by libspeexdsp.

Applications which did not use any of those symbols are going to be
fine, those which did are going to summarily break.

We've had the 'please bump the soname' discussion, and the answer
is still no. In theory the number of applications affected by this
is supposed to be small, and they are supposed to know who they are.

Unfortunately the maintainers of the libspeex package (including now
me) don't know who they are for certain -- so we need you all to put
up your hands and tell us. We'll need to make the new libspeex
package conflict with all such apps, and you'll need to rebuild them
with the new libspeex.

There is source for the proposed new packages here:
http://people.debian.org/~ron/speex/

If you have any other questions, need help figuring this out for
your package, or know the answer as to whether or not your package
is affected, please follow up to:
[EMAIL PROTECTED]

Thanks!
Ron

Bug#430020: I think i've found it

2008-03-19 Thread Ivo Anjo
I agree that this can be closed.

The problem in this case was that glXMakeCurrent failed (and that came
from mesa), and it caused kinfocenter to execute a very rare code
path, that called glXDestroyContext twice.

So I guess it is fixed on the two sides now: that path should not
execute anymore, and if in the future it does kinfocenter will not
call the destroy function twice.

Ivo

I have added a prune-nonfree script to kdepimlibs so we'll remember pruning
those files and re-packing the tarball with newer upstream releases.
I won't upload a repackaged tarball so this bug won't fixed until beginning of
april when KDE 4.0.3 will be released.

Bug#469834: kmail crash related to gpg?

2008-03-19 Thread Matthew Rosewarne
Is the console output or backtrace any different with KMail 3.5.9?

Also, did you upgrade "kleopatra" and "libkleopatra1" to 4:3.5.9-2? They're
responsible for much of the crypto-related functionality in KMail.

Thanks for you reply.

Please, consider CCing [EMAIL PROTECTED] in order to allow other
developers see the debug information you provide.

Well, I'm not a Kmail user and, sincerely, I've no clue about how it
internally works. Therefore, I've told another developer about this
issue and he offered to help you debugging the problem.

Thanks!

Bug#471694: kregexpeditor: Incorrect Hungarian translation in character range dialog

2008-03-19 Thread Gábor Braun
Package: kregexpeditor
Version: 4:3.5.8-1
Severity: minor
Tags: l10n

Clicking on the icon 'abI' a dialog comes up for constructing a regexp matching
one character. The bottom most frame (for specifying character ranges) looks
like this:

  Karaktertartományok

Feladó: Normál karakter Eddig: Normál karakter
Feladó: Normál karakter Eddig: Normál karakter
Feladó: Normál karakter Eddig: Normál karakter

Több bejegyzés

Here the word "Feladó" (meaning the sender of mail, email etc.) is incorrect.
It should be replaced with e.g. "Ettől".

Best wishes,

Suitesparse transition

2008-03-19 Thread Rafael Laboissiere
Dear maintainers,

The suitesparse transition is involving a quite large number of packages. I
prepared an igloo URL [1] with the ones I think are involved. Please,
correct me if I am wrong. The mips arch seems to be the main blocker now,
followed by hppa. The arm, mipsel, and s390 arches have also issues. The
openoffice.org package is the main knot in the web.

I would ask you to not upload the involved packages until we we are ready
for the transition.
