Bug#370342: Make etc/kde3/kdm/Xaccess automatically configurable
Hi, afaics, the solution suggested by luk could be done (debconf). Now, someone must implement debconf questions for /etc/kde3/kdm/Xaccess. I would be happy to include a patch for that :) for the record, Sune suggests: what about just providing a different kdm init script that points to a different confdir with your private config files ? cheers, Fathi -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of unsubscribe. Bug#479399: RFA: libpqxx -- C++ library to connect to PostgreSQL
Package: wnpp Severity: normal I request an adopter for the libpqxx package. I no longer have time to maintain it, and no longer make active use of it myself. The packaging is quite simple, and upstream are friendly and responsive (and Debian users). I'm CCing the maintainers of the reverse-build-deps of libpqxx to let you know about this. Thanks, Roger The package description is: C++ library to enable user programs to communicate with the PostgreSQL database backend. The database backend can be local or it may be on another machine, accessed via TCP/IP. Hi! what happens if you install them in the other order? It won't make a difference. The problem is that kdm's and gdm's init scripts are 'enabled' (they have symlinks in rcX.d/); so whenever insserv tries to recalculate the boot order it finds two init scripts providing the same service. The way around this issue is removing the rc2.d symlink of either gdm or kdm, the one that is not going to be used. I know this is not pretty, but that's how insserv works, as that's the only information it knows about (send feedback to Petter Reinholdtsen). On Monday 05 May 2008, Daniel Hess wrote: We have had a short discussion on #debian-edu channel on irc. Petter suggested that maybe x-display-manager can be dropped from both. Or maybe insserv should accept several providers of the same function? When no other packages or init-scripts need a running display-manager this could also be a workaround. I don't know how insserv works, but what ensures that all installed display manager initscripts are run ? (all display managers tests wether they are the default according to the debconf conifguration - and if not, the initscripts does nothing) In any case this is something that needs to be solved for gdm too, as the other way around (installing gdm when kdm is already installed) would also fail.
