Re: Minor change caused a 50 MB package to be redownloaded basically unchanged
Hi, pirmadienis 04 rugpjūtis 2008, David Starner rašė: This update, a minor patch to phonon-xine and a change listed as no changes needed, caused a 50 MB download. That's excessive; wouldn't it be much better to build these packages in such a way that a minor code change doesn't cause a new upload for a 50 MB icon package? The only solution would be to split kdebase-runtime source package. That is not such a bad idea, actually. However, for now you will have to live with current situation. P.S. 4.1.0-2 was necessary to finally get kdebase-runtime into testing (hopefully). -- Modestas Vainius [EMAIL PROTECTED] signature.asc Description: This is a digitally signed message part.

Bug#493684: [knetworkconf] knetworkconf is broken
Package: knetworkconf Version: 4:4.1.0-1 Severity: important --- Please enter the report below this line. --- knetworkconf does not work. It does not appear as a service in systemsettings. In order to do that, one must change /usr/share/kde4/services/kcm_knetworkconfmodule.desktop to something like # KDE Config File [Desktop Entry] X-KDE-RootOnly=true Type=Service X-KDE-ServiceTypes=KCModule X-DocPath=knetworkconf/index.docbook Icon=knetworkconf #Icon=preferences-system-network Exec=kcmshell4 kcm_knetworkconfmodule X-KDE-Library=kcm_knetworkconfmodule X-KDE-PluginKeyword=knetworkconf X-KDE-ParentApp=systemsettings X-KDE-System-Settings-Parent-Category=network-settings note that X-KDE-ParentApp is set to systemsettings Once this is done, the service appears in systemsettings but then an error dialog pops up saying that an XML file could not be parsed. After that knetworkconf is unsusable. Incomplete upload found in Debian upload queue
Probably you are the uploader of the following file(s) in the Debian upload queue directory: qt4-x11_4.4.1-1.diff.gz qt4-x11_4.4.1-1.dsc qt4-x11_4.4.1.orig.tar.gz This looks like an upload, but a .changes file is missing, so the job cannot be processed. If no .changes file arrives within 23:25:25, the files will be deleted. If you didn't upload those files, please just ignore this message. Bug#473182: kaffeine may locks KDE launch
I think kaffeine is the problem, it sometimes locks at closing it, it is appareantly closed, but it is still running in memory (it is listed in ps output), after that, if you try to run kaffeine again to play another movie, it conflicts with the still running kaffeine and does not start. If you repeat this several times, it finally turns KDE crazy, doing hard to start a KDE application. I am using GNOME since a few days, but i can remember that i have had this kind of problems with kaffeine recently using KDE + kaffeine from lenny packages. I have to say that i also usually use Kubuntu and here i have never found these issues with Kaffeine, i think it is a Debian matter. Anyway, i will turn to KDE 3.5.9 to check if i can reproduce this and another bugs. Thanks you.
