Bug#509715: [kaudiocreator] Error "No encoder has been selected." when launching
Package: kaudiocreator Version: 4:3.5.9-2 Severity: normal When launching kaudiocreator before any configuration, one gets the error No encoder has been selected. Please select an encoder in the configuration. This is upstream bug 85598, which is still considered "wishlist". To workaround, go to the encoder settings, "register the defaults", then restart KAudioCreator. --- System information. --- Architecture: i386 Kernel: Linux 2.6.26-1-amd64 Debian Release: 5.0 990 testing security.debian.org 990 testing gulus.usherbrooke.ca 500 unstablegulus.usherbrooke.ca --- Package information. --- Depends (Version) | Installed ===-+-== kdelibs4c2a(>= 4:3.5.9) | 4:3.5.10.dfsg.1-0lenny1 libartsc0(>= 1.5.9) | 1.5.9-2 libasound2 (>> 1.0.16) | 1.0.16-2 libc6(>= 2.7-1) | 2.7-16 libgcc1(>= 1:4.1.1) | 1:4.3.2-1 libkcddb1 (>= 4:3.5.9) | 4:3.5.9-2 libqt3-mt (>= 3:3.3.8b) | 3:3.3.8b-5 libstdc++6 (>= 4.1.1) | 4.3.2-1 kdemultimedia-kio-plugins (= 4:3.5.9-2) | 4:3.5.9-2 -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-qt-kde-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe". Bug#509661: Uses 100% of cpu
Package: kopete Version: 4:3.5.10-2 Severity: normal Using a jabber account. Every time I try to browse chat history, kopete freezes. When I write *top* in terminal, on the top stays kopete. If I wait for 5-6 minutes, the program responds. Bug#509563: /usr/bin/artsd: CPU overload, Sound server fatal error
Hello, trečiadienis 24 Gruodis 2008, jūs rašėte: > Op Tuesday 23 December 2008, schreef Modestas Vainius: > > Disable KDE Sound System in the Control Center or try different driver or > > use alternative player for system notifications. > > The problem stays when i want to play some sound! Disable Sound System in KDE Control Center. You will only lose notifications (which you can enable by setting another player in the advanced notification configuration if I remember correctly). Frankly, KDE 3 sound system called aRTS is crap, its development was abandoned long ago and all sane KDE3 apps moved away from it long ago. Check application settings and make them use Xine, ALSA or OSS directly. > 1. Its killing my CPU. So disable Sound System. As explained above, aRTS is not a critical part of KDE and even KDE 3.5 itself moved away from it as far as possible. > 2. No sound and "CPU overload, Sound server fatal error" when i want to > play something. The CPU really go's over the top. First of all, check if you have sound working in general with e.g. (from linux virtual terminal): $ aplay /dev/urandom (install alsa-utils package). If you don't, it is not surprising aRTS does not work and freaks out. -- Modestas Vainius signature.asc Description: This is a digitally signed message part.
