Bug#527287: systemsettings: Standard Keyboard Shortcuts is a cancer
Package: systemsettings Version: 4:4.2.2-2 Severity: normal systemsettings - Keyboard Mouse - Standard Keyboard Shortcuts: I am trying to delete some shortcuts. I click on a shortcut, and what appears to be the upper left corner of something that might be intended to look like a window-within-the-window appears. It contains radiobuttons for Default and Custom. Say I want to clear the custom setting: * I click on the icon that looks like a pencil and paper (what a bizarre choice of icon to represent erasing something!). * I click on the Custom radio button (why this wasn't done automatically when I messed with Custom settings I know not). * Now it says None but there is no obvious way to ask the application to absorb my input. I press enter with the hope that the window-within-a-window will disappear and that my new entry will be accepted. OBSERVED BEHAVIOUR: All the settings are duplicated once. Having tried this 3 times, I now have 4 Forwards, 4 Fit to Page Heights, etc... for every action. And the stupid windowy-thing is still there, but now its text is rendered over the text of the menu behind, making it very difficult to read. To make matters worse, Alt-F2 isn't listed as a shortcut for anything, but KDE clearly traps it, as it isn't doing what I asked it to do, but rather opening a Run popup instead. When you fix this, please consider including instructions for fixing the duplicates that the bug created? -- System Information: Debian Release: squeeze/sid APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable'), (1, 'experimental') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.6.29-1-686 (SMP w/2 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Versions of packages systemsettings depends on: ii kdebase-runtime 4:4.2.2-1 runtime components from the offici ii kdelibs5 4:4.2.2-2 core libraries for all KDE 4 appli ii libc6 2.9-10 GNU C Library: Shared libraries ii libfontconfig12.6.0-3generic font configuration library ii libqt4-dbus 4.5.1-2Qt 4 D-Bus module ii libqt4-xml4.5.1-2Qt 4 XML module ii libqtcore44.5.1-2Qt 4 core module ii libqtgui4 4.5.1-2Qt 4 GUI module ii libstdc++64.4.0-3The GNU Standard C++ Library v3 ii libx11-6 2:1.2.1-1 X11 client-side library systemsettings recommends no packages. systemsettings suggests no packages. -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-qt-kde-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of unsubscribe. Bug#527291: systemsettings: Alt+F2 has gone rogue!
Package: systemsettings Version: 4:4.2.2-2 Severity: normal The keyboard shortcut Alt-F2 is not listed anywhere I'd expect. I would like to turn it off (it arrogantly overrides a shortcut that I have asked Sawfish to use) but it's not under System Settings - Keyboard Mouse and I can't think where else it would be. It is very unpleasant to have settings for various things spread all over the place rather than in one central area. It was disabled in my KDE3 configuration. Apparently the configuration updater--which otherwise did a pretty decent job--didn't copy it over. -- System Information: Debian Release: squeeze/sid APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable'), (1, 'experimental') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.6.29-1-686 (SMP w/2 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Versions of packages systemsettings depends on: ii kdebase-runtime 4:4.2.2-1 runtime components from the offici ii kdelibs5 4:4.2.2-2 core libraries for all KDE 4 appli ii libc6 2.9-10 GNU C Library: Shared libraries ii libfontconfig12.6.0-3generic font configuration library ii libqt4-dbus 4.5.1-2Qt 4 D-Bus module ii libqt4-xml4.5.1-2Qt 4 XML module ii libqtcore44.5.1-2Qt 4 core module ii libqtgui4 4.5.1-2Qt 4 GUI module ii libstdc++64.4.0-3The GNU Standard C++ Library v3 ii libx11-6 2:1.2.1-1 X11 client-side library systemsettings recommends no packages. systemsettings suggests no packages. -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-qt-kde-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of unsubscribe. Bug#527006: kdegraphics should NOT try to use the WARMING_UP symbols yet
Sane only intends to support the WARMING_UP status in 1.1.0 and since current is 1.0.20, kdegraphics (specifically libksane) is wrong for trying to use it. It should have appropriate #ifdef's to check if it is defined and it not, fall back to a delay loop or similar, just as the upsteam sane code does in 1.0.20. For a while libsane's git tree did have it enabled, but they #if 0 the WARMING_UP stuff before releasing 1.0.20. -- Len Sorensen -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-qt-kde-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of unsubscribe. Bug#526135: Additional information
Hello, now the crash already occurs when I switch to the day or week view in KOrganizer. This is very annoying and makes KOrgranizer unusable for me. I started KOrganizer under gdb and checked what causes the exception. The SIGFPE is caused by line 1870 in the file kdepimlibs-4.2.2/kcal/kdepimlibs-4.2.2/recurrencerule.cpp. This line is periods += ( mFrequency - 1 - ( ( periods - 1 ) % mFrequency ) ); The debugger told me that mFrequency is zero, which explains the exception. I do not know why this is the case and where this member variable is set. Kind regards, Benjamin -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-qt-kde-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of unsubscribe. Hello, I have found a workaround. Setting the initial value of mFrequency in line 706 of recurrencerule.cpp to a value other than zero (I tested one) fixes the bug for me. Bug#527345: kdebase-workspace: No focus for KickOff menu
Package: kdebase-workspace Version: 4:4.2.2-2 Severity: normal Alt+F1 is assigned to (or can be) KickOff Menu. In KDE 4.1, when pressing Alt+F1, KickOff menu had the focus. Same is not the case in KDE 4.2. Even after pressing Alt+F1, one has to use the mouse to click on the kickoff menu to let it have focus. Checked in recent Kubuntu. This problem is not there. So much be a Debian specific bug.
