koffice override disparity

2009-05-28 Thread Archive Administrator
There are disparities between your recently accepted upload and the
override file for the following file(s):

koffice-dev_2.0.0-1_amd64.deb: package says section is kde, override says
libdevel.

Please note that a list of new sections were recently added to the
archive: cli-mono, database, debug, fonts, gnu-r, gnustep, haskell,
httpd, java, kernel, lisp, localization, ocaml, php, ruby, vcs, video,
xfce, zope. At this time a script was used to reclassify packages into
these sections. If this is the case, please only reply to this email if
the new section is inappropriate, otherwise please update your package
at the next upload.

Either the package or the override file is incorrect. If you think
the override is correct and the package wrong please fix the package
so that this disparity is fixed in the next upload. If you feel the
override is incorrect then please reply to this mail and explain why.
Please INCLUDE the list of packages as seen above, or we won't be able
to deal with your mail due to missing information.

[NB: this is an automatically generated mail; if you replied to one
like it before and have not received a response yet, please ignore
this mail. Your reply needs to be processed by a human and will be in
due course, but until then the installer will send these automated
mails; sorry.]

Bug#530886: kde-window-manager: trying to enable desktop effects freezes computer

2009-05-28 Thread Armin Berres
tags 530886 upstream
thanks

Hello,

the bug you reported is a KDE bug. Please report it via
Help - Report bug... menu item of the respective application
or by visiting https://bugs.kde.org/ and following instructions
to report a new bug.

Debian Qt/KDE maintainers do not have resources to deal with
non Debian-specific bugs and therefore it is unlikely that
your bug will be solved if you do not report it to KDE developers
directly (unless it is/has been reported by somebody else).

Whenever you open a bug report or find an existing one on the KDE
bug tracking system, you can couple both this Debian bug and the
KDE bug together by sending a mail with the text below to
cont...@bugs.debian.org (replace KDE-BUG-URL with the address of
the bug report on https://bugs.kde.org/)

Bug#530921: kmail does not respect LC_TIME setting in some places

2009-05-28 Thread Dmitriy Pinchukov
Package: kmail
Version: 4:4.2.2-1
Severity: normal
Tags: l10n

Kmail 4.2.2 does not always respect the LC_TIME locale setting.

$ locale
LANG=uk_UA.KOI8-U
LC_CTYPE=uk_UA.KOI8-U
LC_NUMERIC=uk_UA.KOI8-U
LC_TIME=C
LC_COLLATE=uk_UA.KOI8-U
LC_MONETARY=uk_UA.KOI8-U
LC_MESSAGES=C
LC_PAPER=uk_UA.KOI8-U
LC_NAME=uk_UA.KOI8-U
LC_ADDRESS=uk_UA.KOI8-U
LC_TELEPHONE=uk_UA.KOI8-U
LC_MEASUREMENT=uk_UA.KOI8-U
LC_IDENTIFICATION=uk_UA.KOI8-U
LC_ALL=

LC_TIME is C, so week day names must be rendered in english, but they're
rendered in uk_UA in the headers of message groups when date aggregation option
is selected for the messages list.
An example screenshot is available at
http://shapirus.kicks-ass.org/files/kmail.png and it's also attached to this
bug report.

  Done, here it is in the attachment; I've done it with all the -dbg packages

Hello,
Finally, after some testing and trying I figured that responsible for
plasma crashing is worldclock. I removed it from plasma configuration
files and finally I got plasma working. If you need any additional
information please don't hesitate to ask.

Bug#530934: kopete: Not connected on startup

2009-05-28 Thread Vincent Smeets
Package: kopete
Version: 4:4.2.2-1
Severity: normal

Hallo,

The status of kopete is not set to online on startup.

I have the setting Behaviour-Initial Status set to Online. I have
also one account, a WLM-account with password saved and NOT Exclude
from connect all set.

Kopete is starting up with the state Offline. In case I set the state to
Online manualy, it changes the state without problems.
I was expecting kopete to startup in the Online state.

Regards,
Vincent Smeets

Hello,

the bug you reported is a KDE bug. Please report it via
Help - Report bug... menu item of the respective application
or by visiting https://bugs.kde.org/ and following instructions
to report a new bug.

Debian Qt/KDE maintainers do not have resources to deal with
non Debian-specific bugs and therefore it is unlikely that
your bug will be solved if you do not report it to KDE developers
directly (unless it is/has been reported by somebody else).

Whenever you open a bug report on the KDE bug tracking system, or
you find that the bug has been already reported on it, you can couple
both this Debian bug and the KDE bug together by sending the mail with
the text below to cont...@bugs.debian.org (replace KDE-BUG-URL with
the address of the bug report on https://bugs.kde.org/)

Package: kmix
Version: 3.3.0-1

It's not possible to associate switches with keyboard shortcuts anymore. For
example on my notebook there's a switch called external amplifier which
mutes the sound hardware and also controls a mute LED. When right-clicking on
the control, the menu only allows me to select which channels should be shown
and to disable the menu. Normal slider controls are not affected.
This bug is only existant in the 3.3.0 version of kmix, older versions (that
didn't have a seperate tab for the switches) don't have that problem.

This bug seems fixed in Kmix 4.2.2-1

This version of konqueror-nsplugins should probably conflict with
gtk-qt-engine; any attempt to start the flash plugin results in an
immediate crash, every time, if gtk-qt-engine is enabled.

This crash doesn't occur when using gtk-qt-engine-kde4, or neither of them.

This applies at least to gtk-qt-engine 1:0.8-4, and is working with
gtk-qt-engine-kde4 1.1+svn145-1.

I can provide a backtrace if anyone is interested in trying to fix this, but
I'm assuming that compatibility between these versions isn't much of a
priority, which is why I suggest that the packages should conflict.

Looking through KDE's websvn at the versions of kdebase uploaded to Debian, it
seems this is likely the first KDE4 version that included the fix mentioned

Unfortunately a fixed KDE 3.5 did not make it into lenny.

Package: konqueror-nsplugins
Version: 3.5.9.dfsg.1-5

At present adobe flash player plugin version 10 beta1 (beta2 is bugged) is
unusable with konqueror-nsplugins (frequently crash).
The revision http://websvn.kde.org/?view=revrevision=824777 correct this
problem for kde 4.
I rearrenged the patch to be applied on 3.5.9 version (attached).
With this patch i'm able to use flash 10 beta1 in kde 3.5.9 since June without
any problem.
Is there any chance to have this patch applied in lenny release of kde? it
will make kde 3.5.9 compatible with future release of flash.

Regards,
Andrea.

Workaround a certain popular plugin's version 10 beta's inability
to figure out that 13 16.

(AKA, stub out some ABI r16 methods that get called despite us claiming only ABI r13 support.
I could perhaps do more than stuff, but I can't find any docs!)

Looking through KDE's websvn at the versions of kdebase uploaded to Debian, it
seems this is likely the first KDE4 version that included the fix mentioned
earlier in this bug report.

Unfortunately a fixed KDE 3.5 did not make it into lenny.

Bug#513881: reason for crash

2009-05-28 Thread Josh Metzler
I've been looking at konqueror-nsplugins, and I think I see why it is crashing
with gtk-qt-engine installed. Basically, nspluginviewer is a qt4 application
that loads plugins, including some that are gtk based (such as flashplugin-
nonfree). When such a gtk using plugin is loaded and gtk-qt-engine is in use,
both qt3 and qt4 are loaded. It is similar to the situation mentioned here:

http://labs.trolltech.com/forums/topic/414

Where Trolltech said it would not work with default builds of qt3 and qt4. So
I think the Conflicts is appropriate to add.

Josh

Bug#530979: kopete: bashism in /bin/sh script

2009-05-28 Thread Raphael Geissert
Package: kopete
Severity: important
Version: 4:4.2.2-1
User: debian-rele...@lists.debian.org
Usertags: goal-dash

Hello maintainer,

While performing an archive wide checkbashisms (from the 'devscripts' package)
check I've found your package containing a /bin/sh script making use
of a bashism.

checkbashisms' output:
 possible bashism in ./usr/bin/kopete_latexconvert.sh line 30 (should be
 '.', not 'source'):
 source ~/.tex2imrc

Not using bash (or a Debian Policy conformant shell interpreter which doesn't
provide such an extra feature) as /bin/sh is likely to lead to errors or
unexpected behaviours.
Please be aware that although bash is currently the default /bin/sh there was
a release goal for Lenny to make dash the default /bin/sh[1], and has been
proposed for squeeze as well[2].

If you want more information about dash as /bin/sh, you can read:
http://lists.debian.org/debian-release/2008/01/msg00189.html

For more information supporting this goal please refer to Debian Policy,
section 10.4, at:
http://www.debian.org/doc/debian-policy/ch-files.html#s-scripts

Hints about how to fix bashisms:
Sometimes these bugs are already fixed in Ubuntu, look at the PTS.
If not already fixed you can read:
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/DashAsBinSh

If you still don't know how to fix the bashisms don't hesitate to reply to
this email, or tag the bug as 'help'.
