Bug#540735: to facilitate the upgrade

2009-08-10 Thread Yaroslav Halchenko
It seems that #540735, forbidding setup of printers in KDE4, be due to
outdated system-config-printer

manually building vanilla upstream 1.1.11 and adjusting PYTHONPATH
allowed to don't see original message of #540735 and get deeper to the
'No module named kpushbutton' which (my wild guess) is due to forgotten
to build module for kpushbutton.sip in python-kde4... just .sip is
shipped within -dev

but back to #493331 -- newer upstream seems to be in need for kde4 to
function properly

Bug#540883: QClipboard can no longer set selection

2009-08-10 Thread Robert J. Macomber
Interesting.. the same program run on another, fairly similar, system
has no problems whatsoever. Even running the client on the `broken'
system talking to the X server on the `working' system works. So
whatever the problem I'm having is, I'm not sure it's related to Qt as
such. Though I'm puzzled why setting the selection would work in one
place in the cliptest program but not in another, or why it's only Qt
apps -- at least cliptest and the other program that started me
investigating -- that seem to be affected.

Bug#540965: kdeaccessibility: FTBFS on GNU/kFreeBSD

Severity: important
Tags: patch
User: debian-...@lists.debian.org
Usertags: kfreebsd

Hi,

your package FTBFS on non-Linux architectures due to the alsa part. It'd
be nice to have some oss replacement at some point, but I guess it's OK
to make the package buildable, at least for the other components. Builds
fine on GNU/kFreeBSD once patched.

Thanks for considering.

KiBi.

Bug#540883: QClipboard can no longer set selection

2009-08-10 Thread Robert J. Macomber
Package: libqtgui4
Version: 4:4.5.2-1

When QClipboard::setText(QString, QClipboard::Selection) is called
"late" (meaning at least from an event handler, but I haven't narrowed
it down completely) retrieving the selection in another client doesn't
work. More particularly, ownership of it gets set, but other clients
cannot retrieve the data.

I've attached a small program which demonstrates the problem. After
launching, a window containing a button will show up. Before pressing
that button, retrieving the primary selection via "xsel -v -v -v -v"
displays something like:
  xsel: Window id: 0x5e1 (unmapped)
  xsel: Timestamp: 3983411207
xsel: Maximum request size: 4000 bytes
xsel: Got window property: requestor 0x5e1, property 0x321, target 0xf4
UTF8_STRING, length 12 bytes
  Hello world!
That text was set by calling QClipboard::setText in main. After
pressing the button, it changes to:
  xsel: Window id: 0x5e1 (unmapped)
  xsel: Timestamp: 3983455616
xsel: Maximum request size: 4000 bytes
  xsel: Conversion refused
  xsel: Conversion refused
This time, the selection was set by calling QClipboard::setText in a
slot attached to the button's clicked() signal.

I've traced through the execution of the event handler as well as I
can in gdb. At line 1020 of qclipboard_x11.cpp, something very odd
happens in the "bad" case that I cannot explain. It suddenly jumps
down past all the bits which actually put the data in the event to
line 1109, sending an empty reply to the reqesting client.

This behaviour is new. In previous versions of the qt package, other
clients were able to retrieve the selection as expected in all
circumstances.

Bug#540850: kdeinit4: plasma-desktop keeps polling filesystems in /etc/fstab

2009-08-10 Thread Jan De Luyck
Package: kdelibs-bin
Version: 4:4.3.0-1
Severity: normal

I've bumped into this very strange problem on my debian/sid KDE4 installation.
I've been looking, but not able to find a reason.

Filed bug also on KDE BTS: http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=202309

Contents:

When starting KDE4, the panel & desktop take ages to show up (upwards from 20+
minutes).

I've attached strace to the "kdeinit4: plasma-desktop" process, which seems to
be doing continuous loops of:

Find new clients in the Scandinavian Countries

2009-08-10 Thread Fair Media
Find new clients in Sweden, Norway and Finland

Reserve a stand in The Leading Property Shows in the Nordic Region

for
BUYING PROPERTIES ABROAD

International Property Exhibitions in Sweden, Norway & Finland organized by
Fair Media International, the largest organizer of exhibitions in the Nordic
region. The exhibitions are an important marketplace for exhibitors from all
over the world who want to market their properties to buyers in Sweden, Norway
and Finland.

Sweden, Norway and Finland
This is a wealthy region with some 20 million inhabitants. The climate in these
countries, with very short summers and long and cold winters, means that many
people are buying properties in warmer climates as holiday homes or for
retirement.

Reasons to target Scandinavian buyers at the Autumn exhibitions:
• Scandinavian clients still have a strong economy
• Nearly 100% of the visitors speak English
• 250,000 people in the region are, according to research, going to buy
homes
overseas in the coming years as a second home, a permanent home or as an
investment
• Excellent opportunity to get direct access to the Nordic marketplace
where
you will meet thousands of potential buyers

19th - 20th September Stockholm Sweden
17th - 18th October Malmoe, Sweden
7th - 8th November Oslo, Norway

Bug#540799: kde theme: sticky thumb/tack is black (lost icon?)

2009-08-10 Thread Justin Piszcz

Package: kdebase
Version: 4.2.4-1

I have a second system that is showing the same problem.

Distribution: 32-bit/testing

After an apt-get dist-upgrade a few days ago (testing) and cleaning up
several hundred old packages, the thumb/tack on the top left corner of the
theme I am using is now black, is there a specific package that handles this
icon within the theme, or?

Probably an issue I caused(?) which package missing would cause this?

See attached or check the image here: (3.5KiB)

koffice override disparity

2009-08-10 Thread Archive Administrator
There are disparities between your recently accepted upload and the
override file for the following file(s):

koffice-dev_2.0.2-1_i386.deb: package says section is kde, override says
libdevel.

Please note that a list of new sections were recently added to the
archive: cli-mono, database, debug, fonts, gnu-r, gnustep, haskell,
httpd, java, kernel, lisp, localization, ocaml, php, ruby, vcs, video,
xfce, zope. At this time a script was used to reclassify packages into
these sections. If this is the case, please only reply to this email if
the new section is inappropriate, otherwise please update your package
at the next upload.

Either the package or the override file is incorrect. If you think
the override is correct and the package wrong please fix the package
so that this disparity is fixed in the next upload. If you feel the
override is incorrect then please file a bug against ftp.debian.org and
explain why. Please INCLUDE the list of packages as seen above, or we
won't be able to deal with your request due to missing information.

Please make sure that the subject of the bug you file follows the
following format:

Subject: override: BINARY1:section/priority, [...], BINARYX:section/priority

Include the justification for the change in the body of the mail please.

[NB: this is an automatically generated mail; if you already filed a bug
and have not received a response yet, please ignore this mail. Your bug
needs to be processed by a human and will be in due course, but until
then the installer will send these automated mails; sorry.]
