Bug#525763: Workaround?

2009-09-05 Thread Soren Stoutner
This is a problem for me as well. Is there any workaround besides using a
different package manager or running Synaptic in a desktop environment besides
KDE?

If possible, try to provide them it, else I will have to close this bug as I
can't reproduce it either.

Bug#545177: konqueror-nsplugins: process nsplugins does not kill itself

2009-09-05 Thread Hans-J. Ullrich
Package: konqueror-nsplugins
Severity: important

-- System Information:
Debian Release: squeeze/sid

Architecture: x86_64

Kernel: Linux 2.6.30-1-amd64 (SMP w/2 CPU cores)
Locale: lang=de...@euro, lc_ctype=de...@euro (charmap=ISO-8859-15)
Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash

Dear maintainers,

I discovered, that the process "nspluginviewer", which is initiated by
konqueror is still running, when konqueror was ended.

IMO this process should be ended, too, when konqueror is ended. The main
problem is, that the still running process "nspluginviewer" is consuming a
lot of cpu power (almost 10-15 percent), which causes two new things:

1. the cpu will not cool down (so on notebooks the cooler is always running)

2. inhibits to slow down cpu clock on mobile cpus.

It would be nice, if you could have an eye on this problem.

Thank you very much! Regards

Hans-J. Ullrich

I am unable to reproduce your problem, but there have been a few qt and kde
updates since you reported the bug, so I am not surprised.
I think the bug is fixed, feel free to reopen if the prblem is still there

Justification: renders package unusable

*** Please type your report below this line ***

Yesterday i made an dist-upgrade which worked with minor problems.
After that i executed the "apt-get autoremove" as suggested, because there
where so
much packages that seemed not to be used any more.

The autoremove worked and everything seems fine, but after reboot i get no

any more!
The system boots normal, the grafical login-screen comes up, but after logging
in
the background-screen still remains.
There are no symbols for initiating KDE, only the mouse-cursor is available.
It is like the same trying to start Gnome!

Now i will not use autoremove again.
