Hi,

the current version fails to build on GNU/Hurd.

It needs two small tweaks, attached as patches:
- debian.diff: to exclude network-manager-dev from the build-depends
- 04_hurd.diff: making the gnu os being recognized by GG as "linux";
please note applying this patch requires relibtoolization, likewise it has
been done for the kfreebsd patch (you can just edit the 99_relibtoolize.patch
  and apply the change there)

Thanks,

Hello maintainer,

While performing an archive wide checkbashisms (from the 'devscripts' package)
check I've found your package containing a /bin/sh script making use
of a bashism.

checkbashisms' output:
> possible bashism in ./usr/bin/startkde line 370 ($UID should be "$(id
> -ru)"):
> KDE_SESSION_UID=$UID

Not using bash (or a Debian Policy conformant shell interpreter which doesn't
provide such an extra feature) as /bin/sh is likely to lead to errors or
unexpected behaviours.
Please be aware that although bash is currently the default /bin/sh there was
a release goal for Lenny to make dash the default /bin/sh[1], and has been
proposed for squeeze as well[2].

If you want more information about dash as /bin/sh, you can read:
http://lists.debian.org/debian-release/2008/01/msg00189.html

For more information supporting this goal please refer to Debian Policy,
section 10.4, at:
http://www.debian.org/doc/debian-policy/ch-files.html#s-scripts

Hints about how to fix bashisms:
Sometimes these bugs are already fixed in Ubuntu, look at the PTS.
If not already fixed you can read:
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/DashAsBinSh

If you still don't know how to fix the bashisms don't hesitate to reply to
this email, or tag the bug as 'help'.

The udev-rules from this package (stored in /etc/udev/rules.d) are out of date,
because they are using "SYSFS" and so on instead of ATTR{} and ATTRS{}
I get lot of error-messages at boot-time (takes a long time...)

There is no such package in squeeze. Please purge it.

Bug#566123: /etc/udev/logitechmouse.rules: udev rules are out of date

2010-01-21 Thread Jakob Schuerz
Package: kcontrol
Version: 4:3.5.9.dfsg.1-6
Severity: normal
File: /etc/udev/logitechmouse.rules

The udev-rules from this package (stored in /etc/udev/rules.d) are out of date,
because they are using "SYSFS" and so on instead of ATTR{} and ATTRS{}
I get lot of error-messages at boot-time (takes a long time...)

regards

Jakob

Bug#502530: channel settings changed with new login

2010-01-21 Thread Jose Manuel Delgado Mendinueta
-BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-
Hash: SHA1

I was suffering this bug for a long time (6 months). Yesterday I removed
all pulseaudio packages (with the exception of the essential libraries,
libpulse0, etc.) and now kmix seems to work well.

The reason I installed pulseaudio some time ago was my sound card (HDA
Intel) wasn't well supported by 2.6 kernels until recently, and Phonon
failed sometimes complaining that no ALSA souncard was available.

All in all, I got rid of PulseAudio and everything seems to work well now.

Cheers,

mendi

Bug#566113: /usr/lib/utempter/utempter has wrong group and permissions

2010-01-21 Thread Christoph Pleger
Package: libutempter0
Version: 1.1.5-2

Hello,

I downloaded your package source and used it to create the two packages for
lenny. After installing package libutempter0, the
command 'ls -l /usr/lib/utempter/utempter' shows the following:

-rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 4848 2010-01-19 14:08 utempter

I think that these are not the correct permissions and ownerships, but that
the file must be owner root, group utmp with setgid bit set. debian/rules
tells that it was the intention of the package maintainer to set ownerships
and permissions like this, but that had no effect on the installed file.

By the way, in debian/rules the chmod and chown commands must be called in
opposite order, because chown removes the setgid bit.

Regards
  Christoph
