Bug#460619: stalls (or hangs if called externally) opening encrypted '.zip' file.

2010-03-18 Thread A. Costa
Package: ark
Version: 4:4.2.4-1
Severity: normal

I'd say the bug remains, more or less. It's a bit different
this time, but still fails. Details:

# encrypt text file 'foo' in 'bar.zip', pw=melon
% B=/tmp/bar.zip ; F=/tmp/foo ; echo hello > $F ; zip -P melon $B $F
  adding: tmp/foo (stored 0%)
% ark $B

'ark' shows the archive contents list; hilite 'foo', click 'Preview', and:

Sorry - Ark
/!\ The internal viewer cannot preview this file.
  [OK]

...it can't view it. 'ark' doesn't prompt for a password.

>From 'ark', click 'Extract', and 'ark' asks for a location to extract
'foo'. Does not ask for a password. Press OK, 'ark' creates a
directory with 'foo' in it, seemingly extracted? No, the file is just
garbage characters, probably still encrypted. See attached 'foo'.

Summing up, it doesn't hang or stall anymore, but it fails, and
neglects to warn the user it fails. This bug shouldn't be closed, but
might profitably be renamed to something like: "'Extract' encrypted
'.zip' file outputs garbage."

HTH...

It can still be reproduced with the Lenny version of kmail. No idea about
Squeeze. If you want to know that, you'll have to try it yourself.

> If not, can we close this old bug report ?

As it is an upstream issue anyway I have no huge problems with that.

Hi,

you reported http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=526848 some time
ago. Since then, libspectre had several releases. Can you please verify
whether the bug you reported is still present with libspectre 0.2.4-1 or
later? Can you also please specify whether this happens with all postscript
documents or just a specific one, for the latter, can you please attach that
document (if possible)?

Eckhart

Bug#527121: printer-applet: error message "client-error-bad-request" pops up on every startup

2010-03-18 Thread Stefan Seide
> > every time i am logging in or starting printer-applet manually from

probably - but i cannot really test the new version.

i had the older
python-sip4 4.9-x
python-qt4 4.6-x
python-kde4 4.3.4-1

i cannot update to python-sip4 4.10 because dependency on python-kde4
4.3.4-1+b1 that depends on
python-sip4 ( < +~ ) AND
python-sip4 ( >= )  (NOT AVAILABLE)

The two dependencies together cannot be fullfilled (at least aptitude says
so). Uninstalling python-kde4 i was able to upgrade python-sip4 to 4.10-2 but
cannot install printer-applet now, because it depends on the uninstallable
python-kde4 ...

regards,
Stefan

Bug#574559: oxygen-icon-theme: device icons are missing mounted/umounted versions

2010-03-18 Thread James Zuelow
Package: oxygen-icon-theme
Version: 4:4.3.4-1
Severity: minor

After updating my KDE desktop from Lenny to Squeeze my device icons lost
their mounted/umounted versions.

I find the visual indicator of the device's status is very handy, especially
for things like mount points for remote filesystems such as CIFS, NFS,
etc.

Cheers!

Maybe. Apt-get here says that upgrading 'ark' means 'konqueror' and
other packages would be removed. I'm not eager to lose 'konqueror',
unless it's changed names or there's some other way to keep it. KDE
oriented advice welcome...
