März 2010, Ralf Treinen wrote: python-kde4 contains, at least on amd64, dependencies on python-sip4 (= none), python-sip4 ( none+~) which is of course rubbish (and even syntactically wrong, as none is not a legal version number allowed by policy). Raising the severity as some tools just choke, ie kdebindings has the same depends in sid currently, and this totally breaks piuparts.d.o, thus I have disabled sid testing in piuparts for several weeks now. cheers, Holger signature.asc Description: This is a digitally signed message part.

Then the message list goes hyperactive: First new messages are added (to the bottom of the list in my case) causing the previous entries to scroll up. Then the new messages are temporarily removed, and the list scrolls back. Finally the new messages are re-added. The resulting flashing, scrolling and updating is very irritating. This happens even if there are no new messages. In that case it scrolls back and forth a bit, and when it stops updating the current message is no longer the one I had selected but the previous one. Repeatedly pressing F5 with no new messages causes the selection to alternate between the last and next-to-last message. Clearly a mail check should be a no-op from the user's perspective if there are no changes. I tried turning off threaded view, but it happens regardless of that. -- System Information: Debian Release: lenny/sid APT prefers testing APT policy: (990, 'testing'), (500, 'unstable'), (1, 'experimental') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.6.24-rc4-lg (PREEMPT) Locale: LANG=sv_SE.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=sv_SE.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Versions of packages kmail depends on: ii kdebase-kio-plugins 4:3.5.8.dfsg.1-2 core I/O slaves for KDE ii kdelibs4c2a 4:3.5.8.dfsg.1-3 core libraries and binaries for al ii kdepim-kio-plugins 4:3.5.8-1KDE pim I/O Slaves ii libart-2.0-22.3.19-3 Library of functions for 2D graphi ii libaudio2 1.9.1-1 Network Audio System - shared libr ii libc6 2.7-3GNU C Library: Shared libraries ii libfontconfig1 2.5.0-2 generic font configuration library ii libfreetype62.3.5-1+b1 FreeType 2 font engine, shared lib ii libgcc1 1:4.2.2-4GCC support library ii libice6 2:1.0.4-1X11 Inter-Client Exchange library ii libidn111.1-1GNU libidn library, implementation ii libjpeg62 6b-14The Independent JPEG Group's JPEG di libkcal2b 4:3.5.8-1KDE calendaring library di libkdepim1a 4:3.5.8-1KDE PIM library ii libkleopatra1 4:3.5.8-1KDE GnuPG interface libraries ii libkmime2 4:3.5.8-1KDE MIME interface library ii libkpimidentities1 4:3.5.8-1KDE PIM user identity information ii libksieve0 4:3.5.8-1KDE mail/news message filtering li ii libmimelib1c2a 4:3.5.8-1KDE mime library ii libpng12-0 1.2.15~beta5-3 PNG library - runtime ii libqt3-mt 3:3.3.7-9Qt GUI Library (Threaded runtime v ii libsm6 2:1.0.3-1+b1 X11 Session Management library ii libstdc++6 4.2.2-4 The GNU Standard C++ Library v3 ii libx11-62:1.0.3-7X11 client-side library ii libxcursor1 1:1.1.9-1X cursor management library ii libxext61:1.0.3-2X11 miscellaneous extension librar ii libxft2 2.1.12-2 FreeType-based font drawing librar ii libxi6 2:1.1.3-1X11 Input extension library ii libxinerama11:1.0.2-1X11 Xinerama extension library ii libxrandr2 2:1.2.2-1X11 RandR extension library ii libxrender1 1:0.9.4-1X Rendering Extension client libra ii libxt6 1:1.0.5-3X11 toolkit intrinsics library ii perl5.8.8-12 Larry Wall's Practical Extraction ii zlib1g 1:1.2.3.3.dfsg-6 compression library - runtime Versions of packages kmail recommends: ii procmail 3.22-16Versatile e-mail processor -- no debconf information ---End Message--- ---BeginMessage--- Fixed-upstream, assuming fixed. Here is the description: Keyboard navigation with arrow keys into the KDE file selector follows a pretty strange algorithm. Up and Down keys do sometimes select the Previous and Next file in the list, but sometimes skip some of them and jumps directely a few files before or after. This looks like bug #456933 reported for konqueror. The next/previous algorithm seems to be related to the length of the filenames. Create a directory with the following files: a b1234 c d123 e f1 g1234 h12345678901 i1234 j12345678901 z then within kate invoke Open file, and navigate with keyboard into the file list portion, starting with file a. If you press Down again and again, you'll get: a c d e f g i j z b and h are skipped, which are sensibly longer than a and g. But j is not, suprisingly. Once at z, press Up again and again, you'll get: z i g f e d c a Here, j, h and b are skipped. Note that changing the font to fixed/monospace does not change anything, though I suspected it would. Well, I'd be really interested in knowing the development process that lead to such a strange behavior. That's really puzzling. Yours for more information. All four accounts use SSL/TLS, three with plaintext passwords and one with GSSAPI authentication. The plaintext passwords are stored in the KDE wallet. When KMail starts, it asks for the password to unlock the wallet. When I enter the password, KMail shows an error dialog box with the message that the process for the protocol imap://... has died unexpectedly, referring to the IMAP server that uses GSSAPI. After I press OK, KMail shows new messages fetched from the other three accounts, but it apparently didn't succeed in connecting to the one with GSSAPI. I have to refresh that account manually to initiate a new connection and get the new mail. The problem does not appear if I enter the password quickly, within a few seconds after the dialog box appears. But if I wait more than that (and I usually do, since this happens at login when many other processes are starting), I consistently get this error message. The same files are skipped every time, but different sets of files are skipped when using the down and up keys. It seems files with longer names tend to be skipped. Steps to reproduce: 1. Create a directory with three zero-length files names a, bbb and c. 2. View this directory in Konqueror. 3. Select multi-column mode. 4. Position to the first file a. 5. Press the down arrow once. The selection will jump from a to c. -- System Information: Debian Release: lenny/sid APT prefers testing APT policy: (990, 'testing'), (500, 'unstable'), (500, 'stable'), (1, 'experimental') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 2.6.24-rc5-melech (SMP w/2 CPU cores; PREEMPT) Locale: LANG=sv_SE.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=sv_SE.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Versions of packages konqueror depends on: ii kcontrol4:3.5.8.dfsg.1-2 control center for KDE ii kdebase-kio-plugins 4:3.5.8.dfsg.1-2 core I/O slaves for KDE ii kdelibs4c2a 4:3.5.8.dfsg.1-3 core libraries and binaries for al ii kdesktop4:3.5.8.dfsg.1-2 miscellaneous binaries and files f ii kfind 4:3.5.8.dfsg.1-2 file-find utility for KDE ii libacl1 2.2.45-1 Access control list shared library ii libart-2.0-22.3.19-3 Library of functions for 2D graphi ii libattr11:2.4.39-1 Extended attribute shared library ii libaudio2 1.9.1-1 Network Audio System - shared libr ii libc6 2.7-4GNU C Library: Shared libraries ii libfontconfig1 2.4.2-1.2generic font configuration library ii libfreetype62.3.5-1+b1 FreeType 2 font engine, shared lib ii libgamin0 [libfam0] 0.1.9-2 Client library for the gamin file ii libgcc1 1:4.2.2-4GCC support library ii libice6 2:1.0.4-1X11 Inter-Client Exchange library ii libidn111.1-1GNU libidn library, implementation ii libjpeg62 6b-14The Independent JPEG Group's JPEG ii libkonq44:3.5.8.dfsg.1-2 core libraries for Konqueror ii libpng12-0 1.2.15~beta5-3 PNG library - runtime ii libqt3-mt 3:3.3.7-9Qt GUI Library (Threaded runtime v ii libsm6 2:1.0.3-1+b1 X11 Session Management library ii libstdc++6 4.2.2-4 The GNU Standard C++ Library v3 ii libx11-62:1.0.3-7X11 client-side library ii libxcursor1 1:1.1.9-1X cursor management library ii libxext61:1.0.3-2X11 miscellaneous extension librar ii libxft2 2.1.12-2 FreeType-based font drawing librar ii libxi6 2:1.1.3-1X11 Input extension library ii libxinerama11:1.0.2-1X11 Xinerama extension library ii libxrandr2 2:1.2.2-1X11 RandR extension library ii libxrender1 1:0.9.4-1X Rendering Extension client libra ii libxt6 1:1.0.5-3X11 toolkit intrinsics library ii zlib1g 1:1.2.3.3.dfsg-7 compression library - runtime konqueror recommends no packages. -- no debconf information ---End Message--- ---BeginMessage--- It's fixed-upstream. Some weeks ago all logins at the thin-client failed. First I thought it is because I did not update the thin-client for ages (it happend once before that terminals running older versions of X became incompatible with the server, e.g. keyboard selection stopped working, ...). Now I updated the thin-client system and noticed that logins still fail. I even tested locally with Xephyr and noticed that XDMCP really stopped working. You can reproduce the bug as follows: - enable XDMCP in /etc/kde3/kdm/kdmrc - allow a login window for any host in /etc/kde3/kdm/Xaccess - restart kdm and log in - open a terminal window and call Xephyr :1 -ac -query localhost - try logging in On a Debian stable system this works instantly. On a Debian testing system I see the login window and can type in the user name and password. When pressing the login button the screen just goes blank for a moment and the login window reappears. PS: I tested the same procedure with GDM and there I even do not get the login window anymore. So maybe the bug is somewhere deeper in the system than just KDM... --- System information. --- Architecture: i386 Kernel: Linux 2.6.22-3-686 Debian Release: lenny/sid 500 testing security.debian.org 500 testing ftp.ch.debian.org --- Package information. --- Depends (Version) | Installed ===-+-= kdelibs4c2a (= 4:3.5.8-1) | 4:3.5.8.dfsg.1-4 libc6 (= 2.6.1-1) | 2.7-4 libdbus-1-3 (= 1.1.1) | 1.1.1-3 libgcc1(= 1:4.2.1) | 1:4.2.2-4 libpam0g (= 0.99.7.1) | 0.99.7.1-5 libqt3-mt (= 3:3.3.7) | 3:3.3.7-9 libstdc++6 (= 4.2.1) | 4.2.2-4 libx11-6| 2:1.0.3-7 libxau6 | 1:1.0.3-2 libxdmcp6 | 1:1.0.2-2 libxtst6| 2:1.0.3-1 kdebase-bin(= 4:3.5.8.dfsg.1-2) | 4:3.5.8.dfsg.1-2 kdebase-data( 4:3.5.8.dfsg.1) | 4:3.5.8.dfsg.1-2 kdebase-data( 4:3.5.8.dfsg.2) | 4:3.5.8.dfsg.1-2 debconf (= 1.2.9) | 1.5.17 OR debconf-2.0 | libpam-runtime (= 0.76-14) | 0.99.7.1-5 xbase-clients | 1:7.2.ds2-2 ---End Message--- ---BeginMessage--- Version: 4:3.5.9.dfsg.1-2 The bug you reported has been fixed in KDE 3.5.9 ---End Message---

I have always a view where a ToDo list on the left of the window and the right side of the window has the full week view. The headers of these week day are displayed multiple times. As soon as the window gets a refresh (changing the week or something else), the headers are ok again. It looks like that the headers are written, then the geometry of the window changes which will trigger a rewrite of the headers again (wihtout clearing the old headers). As soon as I have the bug nummer of this bug, I will send a snapshot showing the error.
