Note that the package(s) have simply been removed from the tag
database and may (or may not) still be in the pool; this is not a bug.
The package(s) will be physically removed automatically when no suite
references them (and in the case of source, when no binary references
it). Please also remember that the changes have been done on the
master archive (ftp-master.debian.org) and will not propagate to any
mirrors (ftp.debian.org included) until the next cron.daily run at the
earliest.

Packages are usually not removed from testing by hand. Testing tracks
unstable and will automatically remove packages which were removed
from unstable when removing them from testing causes no dependency
problems. The release team can force a removal from testing if it is
really needed, please contact them if this should be the case.

We try to close Bugs which have been reported against this package
automatically. But please check all old bugs, if they where closed
correctly or should have been re-assign to another package.

Thank you for reporting the bug, which will now be closed. If you
have further comments please address them to 619...@bugs.debian.org.

Hi there.

KDE allow users to mount removable media via HAL.
HAL has some system-wide settings for media mounting
(volume.policy.mount_option.* keys which are accessible via
libhal_volume_policy_get_mount_options()).
This settins are depricated for now, but gnome, ivman, pmount-hal and
may be other soft still use this settings.
Non-uft8, non-latin1 systems need codepage=,iocharset= for mounting some
media (e.g. vfat).
KDE don't allow to configure mounting, to force using of this settins,
and doesn't use mount options from HAL.
(Look at http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=133456 also)

So KDE doesn't use HAL settins (as most analogous software do), and
doesn't allow Russian (and other non-latin1) non-utf8 users mount vfat
media in their local codepage. If we force KDE a little bit, it will use
HAL settings and that will solve our problem.

Unability to mount vfat with iocharset, codepage is very serious problem
with makes KDE's mounting useless for most of Russian (and other non-latin1)
users.

Unfortunately I've found this problem so late. If it's impossible to
include the following patch into Etch release, may be it's possible to
push it into one of following proposed-update builds? And into r1?

kdebase-kio-plugins from experimental looks also affected by this bug.

Regards, Alexander.

Patch is very simple:

It reads mount options from HAL with libhal_volume_policy_get_mount_options(),
add options from there to mount options used in mount process, and remove utf8
option if meet iocharset in the HAL mountoptions.

Patch is attached.

Package: kde-window-manager
Version: 4:4.3.1-1
Severity: important

Context: this is a machine with several users (in several
simultaneously-running sessions on the same seat) and only 1.5GB of
RAM, so things get swapped out before one user comes back to the seat
while others use it.

In my session I have one main desktop with light apps, and another
one which holds a handful of firefox windows. When I switch to this
FF desktop, it takes some time for it to get responsive - I am not
sure it is only a matter of FF being swapped out, since even the
active window frame drawn by kwin does not get drawn before a couple
of seconds.

Now if I do not wait for the desktop switch to stabilize after
Ctrl-F2, and start going Alt-TAB-TAB in the hope to reach a particular
FF window rapidly, it sometimes happen that the keyboard stops
responding:

- no wm shortcuts (alt-tab, ctrl-Fn, etc)
- no key event receieved by the active window
- still able to switch desktop and apps with the mouse
- still able to Ctrl-Alt-Fn to another VC and use the keyboard there

Now if I killall kwin and switch back to X, I can then use the
keyboard again and restart one from my xterm, and all is good (until
the time I get impatient again).

What kind of additional information would be useful here ?

Bug#624520: kdebase-runtime: Missing oxygen style engine

maybe the style is now shipped somewhere else?

 $ dpkg -L kdebase-runtime|grep oxygen

It has been moved to kdebase-workspace (binary package kdebase-workspace-bin).

Ah! Sorry had been trying to search it on packages.debian.org but it
seemed to keep giving errors, probably due to the packages being on
experimental at the time. And didn't remember to “dpkg -S” for it on
the machine where I upgraded the whole desktop.

So, kdebase-workspace-bin dependencies are quite heavy, would you be
amenable to moving it back to kdebase-workspace or maybe moving the
engines to another separate package or similar, for installations that
don't need/want the whole desktop?

So my guess is that the style engines (previously in the form of a
shared object) are now provided through the .svgz files under
  /usr/share/kde4/apps/desktoptheme/ (by kdebase-runtime-data), but I
could not easily find what other package is supposed to load them.

The files in desktoptheme is the svg theme for plasma itself (the taskbar,
 teh
clock, the plasma widgets on desktop, ...)

Ok, yes that makes more sense than my attempt to a guess. :)

thanks,
guillem

Bug#629432: Upgrade to kde4libs 4:4.6.3-3 breaks kdm

2011-06-06 Thread Peter Karbaliotis
Package: kde4libs
Version: 4:4.6.3-3
Severity: grave
Tags: sid
Justification: renders package unusable

After upgrading my system to version 4:4.6.3-3 of kde4libs packages, kdm failed
to start properly, leaving a blank screen with blinking cursor. There were no
error messages in either /var/log/Xorg.0.log or /var/log/kdm.log. Downgrading
to 4:4.6.3-2 fixed the problem.

Bug#629123: Downgraded libqca2-plugin-ossl

I've downgraded the package libqca2-plugin-ossl with:

Version table:

$ sudo aptitude install libqca2-plugin-ossl=0.1~20070904-4

After a restart of Kopete, I can connect again. The bug may be in
libqca2-plugin-ossl or maybe the API has changed and Kopete cannot use the new

Bug#545139: fixed in akonadi 1.3.1-4

2011-06-06 Thread Magnus Holmgren
On lördagen den 30 april 2011, you stated the following:
 Changes:
  akonadi (1.3.1-4) unstable; urgency=low
  .
* Add patch 04_socket_location.diff to allow akonadi-server to run when
HOME is mounted to the network filesystem (Closes: #545139). Thanks to
 Ansgar Burchardt for the patch.

After upgrading to that version, kmail stopped working because it (or rather
libakonadi-kde4, or libakonadiprivate1?) still tries to use the old socket
path. What have I missed regarding how clients find the socket? (No socket
path is defined in ~/.config/akonadi/akonadiserverrc, so the new default is
used.)

2011-06-06 Thread Philip Ashmore
Package: qt4-demos
Version: 4:4.7.3-1
Severity: normal

I ran qtdemo and selected the Demonstrations - Browser - Launch

Result: A dialog titled Failed to launch the example, containing the text
Could not launch the example. Ensure that it has been built.

Looking at the source, it appears that this is a QML application.

When I tried to run it directly with qmlviewer, I discovered that qmlviewer
is not installed.

According to Debians package search / package contents web site,
no package contains qmlviewer.

Bug#629475: qt4-demos: browser demo doesn't start

2011-06-06 Thread Philip Ashmore

qmlviewer is packaged inqt4-qmlviewer.

The browser app still doesn't start from qtdemo.

I'm getting the following error when I run

  $ qmlviewer /usr/lib/qt4/demos/declarative/webbrowser/webbrowser.qml

file:///usr/lib/qt4/demos/declarative/webbrowser/webbrowser.qml:43:1: module
QtWebKit is not installed
 import QtWebKit 1.0
 ^
