Thanks to snapshot.debian.org, I can confirm that qtcreator 1.3.1-3 currently in Debian "Wheezy" Testing can be run successfully with Qt packages up to 4.7.1-2. Bug#642153: qtcreator: "Program received signal SIGBUS, Bus error" at startup
Package: qtcreator Version: 1.3.1-3 Severity: important Qt Creator crashes at startup with a bus error. I can briefly see the main window being drawn (completely empty, just the Qt Creator title window, with Qt Creator icon and system buttons are shown). I don't know if it will help, but console also reports unaligned accesses (ia64-specific issues?) and QSslSocket messages: emeric@longspeak:~$ qtcreator qtcreator.bin(11188): unaligned access to 0x2000121ade0e, ip=0x2cd9c0c1 qtcreator.bin(11188): unaligned access to 0x2000121ade76, ip=0x2cd9bfc0 qtcreator.bin(11188): unaligned access to 0x2000121adede, ip=0x2cd9c0c1 qtcreator.bin(11188): unaligned access to 0x2000121adee6, ip=0x2cd9c0c1 qtcreator.bin(11188): unaligned access to 0x2000121adeee, ip=0x2cd9c0c1 QSslSocket: cannot resolve SSLv2_client_method QSslSocket: cannot resolve SSLv2_server_method Bus error I remember having used Qt Creator successfully in the past (I don't remember which version though). Strangely enough, all qtcreator packages available in snapshot.debian.org are dying with a bus error. I thus wonder if the problem isn't coming from Qt itself. Anyway, please find in attached the stacktrace I've recorded with libqt4*-dbg packages installed (I can't find qtcreator-dbg in Debian repositories). -- System Information: Debian Release: wheezy/sid APT prefers testing APT policy: (500, 'testing') Architecture: ia64 Kernel: Linux 2.6.38-2-mckinley (SMP w/2 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=fr_FR.utf8, LC_CTYPE=fr_FR.utf8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Versions of packages qtcreator depends on: ii libc6.12.13-18 ii libgcc11:4.6.1-4 ii libqt4-help4:4.7.3-5 ii libqt4-network 4:4.7.3-5 ii libqt4-sql-sqlite 4:4.7.3-5 ii libqtcore4 4:4.7.3-5 ii libqtgui4 4:4.7.3-5 ii libstdc++6 4.6.1-4 ii libunwind7 0.99-0.3 Versions of packages qtcreator recommends: ii gdb 7.3-1 ii gnome-terminal [x-terminal-emulator] 3.0.1-1 ii make 3.81-8.1 ii qt4-demos 4:4.7.3-5 ii qt4-dev-tools 4:4.7.3-5 ii qt4-doc 4:4.7.3-5 ii qtcreator-doc 1.3.1-3 ii xterm [x-terminal-emulator] 271-1 Versions of packages qtcreator suggests: ii cmake ii git [git-core] 1:1.7.5.4-1 ii subversion 1.6.17dfsg-1 -- no debconf information Starting program: /usr/bin/qtcreator.bin [Thread debugging using libthread_db enabled] [New Thread 0x24b73190 (LWP 11059)] [New Thread 0x2000113b7190 (LWP 11062)] [New Thread 0x200012153190 (LWP 11063)] [New Thread 0x200013037190 (LWP 11064)] [New Thread 0x200013837190 (LWP 11065)] [New Thread 0x2000187ff190 (LWP 11074)] [New Thread 0x200018fff190 (LWP 11075)] [New Thread 0x2000197ff190 (LWP 11076)] [Thread 0x2000187ff190 (LWP 11074) exited] [New Thread 0x2000187ff190 (LWP 11077)] [Thread 0x200018fff190 (LWP 11075) exited] [New Thread 0x200019fff190 (LWP 11078)] [Thread 0x2000187ff190 (LWP 11077) exited] [Thread 0x200019fff190 (LWP 11078) exited] [New Thread 0x200019fff190 (LWP 11079)] [Thread 0x2000197ff190 (LWP 11076) exited] [New Thread 0x2000197ff190 (LWP 11080)] Program received signal SIGBUS, Bus error. 0x223360b0 in __sigsetjmp () from /lib/ia64-linux-gnu/libc.so.6.1 #0 0x223360b0 in __sigsetjmp () from /lib/ia64-linux-gnu/libc.so.6.1 No symbol table info available. #1 0x208bd410 in gray_convert_glyph_inner (worker=0x6fff5658) at painting/qgrayraster.c:1590 error = 38177702 #2 0x208be780 in gray_convert_glyph (worker=0x6fff5658) at painting/qgrayraster.c:1715 bottom = top = middle = error = -40088 bands = {{min = 0, max = 42}, {min = -41088, max = 1610616831}, {min = -41136, max = 1610616831}, {min = -41152, max = 1610616831}, {min = 1, max = 0}, {min = 0, max = 0}, {min = -43760, max = 1610616831}, {min = 0, max = 0}, {min = 0, max = 536870912}, {min = 786672, max = 1610612736}, {min = 87952648, max = 536870912}, {min = 32960200, max = 536870912}, {min = 2883642, max = 0}, {min = 0, max = 1077411840}, {min = 0, max = 0}, {min = 128, max = 768}, {min = 1792, max = 0}, {min = 3296, max = 0}, {min = 0, max = 0}, {min = 2, max = 0}, {min = 3, max = 1610612736}, {min = 5257228, max = 1610612736}, {min = -41152, max = 1610616831}, {min = -0, max = 1610616831}, {min = -41128, max = 1610616831}, {min = -41100, max = 1610616831}, {min = -41084, max = 1610616831}, {min = -41068, max = 1610616831}, {min = -41052, max = 1610616831}, {min = -41038, max = 1610616831}, {min = 3, max = 536870912}, {min = 2648160, max = 1610612736}, {min = -41400, max = 1610616831}, {min = 23424, max = 23424}, {min = 7983168, max =
Problems with refresh of desktop...
Hello, I am using some toshiba with ATI from familly 3xxx // CPU AMD 64bit I have upgraded yesterday my laptop to debian wheezy - 18/09/11 I am using here also new kernel 3.0.0-1 AMD64 For graphical interface I use radeon driver from distro: xorg-xserver-radeon In general all works fine after login until there is needed any usage of taskbar / and so plasma module /. If I would press any icon from taskbar it will display black rectangle and if I do this one or two more times, I finish with black screen in background and correct mouse arrow. As a kind of exercise I have installed additionally old kxdocs taskbar: - and if I will use that menu all works fine, if I try to use any function related to kde taskbar I finish again with black screen. I have googled a while and I have found that in the older version of KDE there were some problems with cache. I have tried to disable that one, but it does not seem to make any change in my case. Would You give any suggestions how to tackle it farther? Any suggestions?
