That's right, libscience4 has been removed in 4.7.

libpng1.5 is not even started, and won't be in the short term, neither
affect us directly.

Stop misreading things and spreading false information in public bug
reports.

Less than what you might think.

(and avoid misreading Debian's developer-mostly tools when you have no
clue about their meaning...)

Bug#661603: kalzium: Update to Kalzium in experimental not possible/put on hold

2012-02-29 Thread shirish शिरीष
Dear Alexander,
 I am not a developer/packager but a user just like you and I also
have the same thing. I think those issues will be resolved as and when
KDESC4.7 transition is completed and its going to take quite some
time.

Some things to show/share :-

$ apt-show-versions -a kalzium
kalzium 4:4.6.5-2 install ok installed
kalzium 4:4.4.5-2 stable   ftp.debian.org
kalzium 4:4.6.5-2 testing  ftp.debian.org
kalzium 4:4.6.5-2 unstable ftp.debian.org
kalzium 4:4.7.4-1 experimental ftp.debian.org
kalzium/testing uptodate 4:4.6.5-2

$ sudo aptitude install kalzium=4:4.7.4-1
The following NEW packages will be installed:
  avogadro-data{a} kde-runtime{ab} libavogadro1{a}
libboost-python1.48.0{a} libopenbabel4{a} python-avogadro{a}
The following packages will be REMOVED:
  libscience4{u}
The following packages will be upgraded:
  kalzium{b}
1 packages upgraded, 6 newly installed, 1 to remove and 0 not upgraded.
Need to get 11.4 MB of archives. After unpacking 29.5 MB will be used.

   Breaks: kdebase-runtime (< 4:4.7.2) but 4:4.6.5-1+b1 is
installed.
The following actions will resolve these dependencies:

 Remove the following packages:
1) kalzium
2) kdeedu

 Keep the following packages at their current version:
3) kde-runtime [Not Installed]

Accept this solution? [Y/n/q/?]

What this means that there would be a bunch of stuff I would need to
pull in from experimental so its just not libscience4 but perhaps
other things as well.

As far as transitions are concerned, you should look at
http://release.debian.org/transitions/ and more to the point
http://release.debian.org/transitions/html/kde4.7.html

If you go down the page you see it in depends on libarchive and
libpng1.5 transitions being completed.

While libarchive is almost on the verge of being completed, libpng1.5
is again held by transitions on numpy, libtiff4-symbols,poppler0.18
and maybe couple of others.

All in all, this would take a while. Till all these transitions are
not completed I don't think you will see any movement for the better.

Bug#638454: [akonadi-kde-resource-googledata] COnfirm on kde 4.7.4

2012-02-29 Thread Valerio Passini
Package: akonadi-kde-resource-googledata
Version: 1.2.0-1+b1

--- Please enter the report below this line. ---
The same happened to me and it seems a problem with upstream
(see http://forum.kde.org/viewtopic.php?f=215&t=99139).
I think that Debian should move to a more recent kdepim as soon as 4.7.4
enters testing.
