Package: python-qt4
Version: 4.9.1-3
Severity: important

Dear Maintainer,
Today's python-qt4 package update rendered my KDE desktop completely
unusable. plasma-desktop crashes on startup due to plasmoid written in
python.

I am attaching dr Konqi crash report.
I also attach tar-gzipped plasmoid that triggers the segfault. This is
badly written python code that invokes external shell script every second
and displays it's output. I know nothing about python programming, but
this plasmoid serves me quite well.
(for those unfamiliar with KDE:
1. untar attached file
2. run 'plasmapkg -i uptime'
3. try to add Uptime plasmoid)

To ensure that problem is not caused by poor quality of plasmoid code, I
also tested on another python plasmoid on fresh configuration (new
user). The problem is reproducible. Another plasmoid I have tested is:
http://code.google.com/p/gmail-plasmoid/

I have downgraded python-qt4 and python-qt4-dbus packages to 4.9.1-1 and
problem ceased to exists; both plasmoids are running just fine.

This may or may not be related to bug 672108 - I am unable to tell.

Best regards
Mirosław Zalewski

kdevelop override disparity

2012-05-18 Thread Debian FTP Masters
There are disparities between your recently accepted upload and the
override file for the following file(s):

kdevelop-data_4.3.1-1_all.deb: package says section is devel, override says kde.
kdevelop-dev_4.3.1-1_amd64.deb: package says section is devel, override says
kde.
kdevelop_4.3.1-1_amd64.deb: package says section is devel, override says kde.

Please note that a list of new sections were recently added to the
archive: cli-mono, database, debug, fonts, gnu-r, gnustep, haskell,
httpd, java, kernel, lisp, localization, ocaml, php, ruby, vcs, video,
xfce, zope. At this time a script was used to reclassify packages into
these sections. If this is the case, please only reply to this email if
the new section is inappropriate, otherwise please update your package
at the next upload.

Either the package or the override file is incorrect. If you think
the override is correct and the package wrong please fix the package
so that this disparity is fixed in the next upload. If you feel the
override is incorrect then please file a bug against ftp.debian.org and
explain why. Please INCLUDE the list of packages as seen above, or we
won't be able to deal with your request due to missing information.

Please make sure that the subject of the bug you file follows the
following format:

Subject: override: BINARY1:section/priority, [...], BINARYX:section/priority

Include the justification for the change in the body of the mail please.

and have not received a response yet, please ignore this mail. Your bug
needs to be processed by a human and will be in due course, but until

Bug#672613: Recent binNMU should have fixed this

2012-05-18 Thread Jordan Metzmeier
I just tested it on my system and it is no longer segfaulting. Where
are details of binNMUs located? They do not appear to display on the

Bug#673464: RM: koffice -- ROM; dead-upstream, superseeded by Calligra

2012-05-18 Thread Ana Guerrero
Package: ftp.debian.org
Severity: normal

Please, remove koffice from the archive. The development of KOffice
is almost dead since most of the development team moved efforts
to Calligra.
For casual readers of this bug: note that Calligra is still not in
the Debian archive and might not to make it into wheezy. But KOffice
is not in a good state to be allowed into Wheezy.

Thanks,
Ana

Package: kdevelop-php
Version: 1.2.2-1
Severity: important
Tags: sid wheezy
User: debian-...@lists.debian.org
Usertags: ftbfs-gcc-4.7

The package fails to build in a test rebuild on at least amd64 with
gcc-4.7/g++-4.7, but succeeds to build with gcc-4.6/g++-4.6. The
severity of this report may be raised before the wheezy release.

abstractdeclarationbuilder.h:74:88: error: 'editorFindRange' was not declared
in this scope, and no declarations were found by argument-dependent lookup at
the point of instantiation [-fpermissive]

The full build log can be found at:
http://people.debian.org/~lucas/logs/2012/03/29-clang-gcc47/unstable-gcc47/kdevelop-php_1.2.2-1_unstable-gcc47.log
The last lines of the build log are at the end of this report.

Some hints on fixing these issues can be found at
http://gcc.gnu.org/gcc-4.7/porting_to.html

To build with GCC 4.7, either set CC=gcc-4.7 CXX=g++-4.7 explicitly,
or install the gcc, g++, gfortran, ... packages from experimental.

Bug#673482: transition: kdevelop 4.3

2012-05-18 Thread Pino Toscano
Package: release.debian.org
Severity: normal
User: release.debian@packages.debian.org
Usertags: transition

Hello,

I would like to request a slot for the KDevelop 4.3 transition.
This transition should be pretty self-contained and involving only few
sources, basically all and only the ones requiring manual sourceful
upload from experimental to unstable.

The transition involved the following sources:
  kdevplatform
  kdevelop
  kdevelop-php
  kdevelop-php-docs
  kdevelop-pg-qt

The SONAME bump is the usual one of the kdevplatform libraries:

* kdevplatform-dev, libsublime-dev (src:kdevplatform):
libsublime3 - libsublime5
kdevplatform3-libs - kdevplatform5-libs

All the sources are in experimental already, and even if some have been
just uploaded, I think they should not pose problems.

Thanks,
--
Pino

Bug#672825: qt4-x11: Various small problems building qt4-x11 on hppa

I suspect problems 2+3 are due to qt4 being compiled in a non-minimal
build environment, with an already installed qtwebkit. Can you confirm
they would eventually disappear if you build qt4-x11 in a minimal build
environment?

Regarding problem 1), I just adapted patch
07_trust_dpkg-arch_over_uname-m.diff (which is what does that change to
configure), so since the next upload should be fine.
Please note that switching from the 'generic' architecture (which is how
the latest version of qt4-x11 were compiled on hppa, at least by reading
the build logs) to a proper cpu-specific one *does* break the binary
compatibility of libQtCore.so.4 (in libqtcore4), so you will need to
recompile basically every Qt/KDE application/library.

environment?

Correct, qtwebkit is installed in my standard build environment.
Everything

is being built manually.

I can give it a try but it may not be easy. I have a schroot
environment

setup as I have been working to restart buildd on hppa.

Regarding problem 1), I just adapted patch
07_trust_dpkg-arch_over_uname-m.diff (which is what does that change

Ok. Probably, this doesn't matter as everyone that updates will
reinstall

the whole Qt/KDE environment.

Bug#672553: Tested and it works

2012-05-18 Thread Scott Kitterman
I've tested, in conjunction with the fix for #672552, this with KDE 4.7.4 in
Unstable and it produces working python and python3 bindings.

$ python3
Python 3.2.3rc2 (default, Mar 21 2012, 06:59:51)
[GCC 4.6.3] on linux2
Type help, copyright, credits or license for more information.
 import PyKDE4

The only think I would change is the name of the binary package. Similar to
how we did python-qt4, I think we should use the Python policy compliant name
for pykde4. That would be python3-pykde4 (instead of python3-kde4_.
