Bug#639300: please build against unixodbc-dev instead of libiodbc2-dev

2012-06-01 Thread ciel
Ubuntu already linked soprano against libvirtodbc0 rather than
libiodbc2.Since it isn't libodbc1, do you think it is still bad?
And why is Steve's patch dirty?
Here on Debian wheezy, I needed to "fix" libmyodbc dependencies using
ubuntu package, which is much more dirty since I cannot update soprano
using apt anymore(no PPA)...

I'm also getting these messages, so perhaps I can help troubleshoot.

Invalid Service : "/usr/share/applications/usbview.desktop"

2012-06-01 Thread shirish शिरीष
Hi all,
I just came by this when running today's updates.

kbuildsycoca4 running...
kbuildsycoca4(28131)/kdecore (services)
KServicePrivate::init: The desktop entry file
"/usr/share/applications/usbview.desktop"  has Type=
"Applications/System/Hardware" instead of "Application" or "Service"

kbuildsycoca4(28131)
KBuildServiceFactory::createEntry: Invalid Service :
"/usr/share/applications/usbview.desktop"

I have both GNOME 3.4 and KDE 4.7 as I do change the look and feel now
and then although predominantly a GNOME user.

I dunno if this error/bug means anything or not hence putting it on
the mailing list. Doing a simple cat of the .desktop file shows this
:-

$ cat /usr/share/applications/usbview.desktop
[Desktop Entry]
Name=usbview
Comment=View USB devices attached to system
Exec=/usr/bin/usbview
Terminal=false
MultipleArgs=false
Type=Applications/System/Hardware

Also looked and came across this bug which was reported in circa 2010
on the same thing.

http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=585110

so probably it's the same thing that I saw today. I have also
subscribed to the bug if somebody does comment on that bug itself.

Please CC me if anybody replies as I'm not subscribed to either list.
