Bug#748314: kde-runtime-data: kuiserver parse initrd at each kde startup

2014-05-15 Thread xavier
Package: kde-runtime-data
Version: 4:4.12.4-1
Severity: critical
Justification: breaks the whole system

Dear Maintainer,

Dear Maintainer,

kuiserver parse initrd at each kde startup AND output errors in [/var/log/]
syslog, user.log and messages.
This can be seen as not critical, but the critical problem is in the log output.
While parsing initrd is totally useless and slow down the system a bit, the log
output is the problem that makes the system unusable.
Because it output one line per "character" fond in initrd file. In a few days
and some reboot or logout / login my little hard drive was full.

I've already search in kde's bug system and forums (and googling a bit too) but
found nothing related. Search was made with keywords kuiserver, initrd and $
I've also checked my config (.config, .local and .kde) and found nothing.

   * What led up to the situation?

update to last kde packages and systemd

   * What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or
 ineffective)?

nothing

My best to the team
Xavier (zeroheure)

Bug#668134: AArch64 fix for the same issue

2014-05-15 Thread Marcin Juszkiewicz
Take a look at upstream change [1] done for AArch64 support. It
simplified code in similar way as sh4.diff did.

Package: klipper
Version: 4:3.5.5a.dfsg.1-6
Severity: minor

In the actions menu that pops up when highlighting a URL in KDE, Klipper
makes a reference to Firefox. Per Debian's relationship with Mozilla, it
should refer to Iceweasel instead.

I have tested the behaviour with the current version of klipper in stable
4:4.8.4-6 and the reported bug no longer exists since the list of applications
is no longer defined in /usr/share/kde4/config/klipperrc but is generated from
the listed of installed applications.
For example on my desktop Konqueror, Iceweasel and others are listed, with no
reference to Firefox.

Bug#748200: kdebase: no suspend-to-disk via kdemenu

2014-05-15 Thread Hans-J. Ullrich
Package: kdebase
Version: 5:66
Severity: normal

Dear Maintainer,

Dear maintainers,

I discovered, that it is not possible, to suspend-to-disk via kdemenu or event
(like
closing lid). Although the button suspend-to-disk (in German "Tiefschlaf") is
existent,
pressing it has no effect.
On the other hand, if I do this:

$ dbus-send --print-reply  --system --dest=org.freedesktop.UPower
org/freedesktop/UPower org.freedesktop.UPower.Hibernate

it is suspending to disk and working perfectly.

It would be nice, if you could take a look at it.

Thank you very much!

Best regards

Hans-J. Ullrich

Bug#748198: ark: Ark fails to produce a valid .zip archive

2014-05-15 Thread Eric Chapman
Package: ark
Version: 4:4.12.4-1
Severity: important

Dear Maintainer,

   * What led up to the situation?
Open a directory in Ark and save it as a .zip archive. Or use the
Dolphin/Konqueror service menu to compress
a directory as a zip file.
   * What was the outcome of this action?
Ark produced a .zip file of the correct size, but it couldn't be extracted by
any of the normal unzip programs.
   * What outcome did you expect instead?
A valid .zip archive.
