Bug#756494: print-manager: Authentication Dialog cannot receive focus
Package: print-manager Version: 4:4.13.3-1 Severity: grave Justification: renders package unusable When configuring an existing printer through the printer KCM module (as normal user), authentication is not possible when clicking Configure, makig changes there, and pressing Apply. The authentication dialog pops up, but cannot receive focus. When the authentication dialog pops up as a result of checking the 'Default Printer' or 'Reject Print Jobs' checkbox, the authentication dialog is able to receive focus, and these settings seems to apply after auth. So it is likely due to two modal dialogs competing for focus -- System Information: Debian Release: jessie/sid APT prefers testing APT policy: (750, 'testing'), (700, 'stable'), (600, 'unstable') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Foreign Architectures: i386 Kernel: Linux 3.14-2-amd64 (SMP w/8 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Versions of packages print-manager depends on: ii kde-runtime 4:4.13.1-1 ii libc6 2.19-7 ii libcups21.7.4-1 ii libkdecore5 4:4.13.3-1 ii libkdeui5 4:4.13.3-1 ii libkio5 4:4.13.3-1 ii libqt4-dbus 4:4.8.6+dfsg-2 ii libqt4-declarative 4:4.8.6+dfsg-2 ii libqt4-network 4:4.8.6+dfsg-2 ii libqtcore4 4:4.8.6+dfsg-2 ii libqtgui4 4:4.8.6+dfsg-2 ii libstdc++6 4.9.1-1 Versions of packages print-manager recommends: ii cups 1.7.4-1 ii system-config-printer 1.4.3-4 print-manager suggests no packages. -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-qt-kde-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe". Upstream has said this is wrong to do as it's perfectly valid to not have baloo installed and be running e.g. dolphin. Also baloo-kf5 will be appearing sometime which is should be a drop in replacement. So it should rather be seeded in whatever meta-package is installed for people to install a Plasma and KDE Software desktop. My system encoding is in UTF8 For exemple, I received a zip file created on an other system containing some filename in iso8859-15 (or ms windows encoding), ark show them badly, but manage to extract them with there bad characters (it show ? in place of special chars). After that, i can't open that file or rename it, it tell me file not found !... As temporary workaround, I'm using 'mv' command to rename manually the file and it does the job ! It is not a regression, that behavior had always happened since I migrate to KDE4 (since 4.2 debian version)... Regards C. Specifying a folder works, i.e. running "dolphin ~/Desktop" shows the Desktop folder. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Run "dolphin trash:/" or click on the trash plasmoid f.e Actual Results: Dolphin runs and opens the user's home folder. Expected Results: The trash folder should be opened. It worked fine in 4.11.2. This not only applies to "trash:/", but also f.e. "smb://HOST", "desktop:/", "audiocd:/" and any others I tried. Clicking on the Trash icon in the places panel or entering the URL into the location bar does open the correct folder though. It still works fine with Konqueror, i.e. running "konqueror trash:/" does open the trash folder. This is fixed in 4.11.4. This affects launching Dolphin from the command-line but also actions which launch Dolphin, for example clicking on the Dolphin action in Device Notifier when a digital camera is plugged in or trying to open from krunner. This doesn't prevent anything, but causes issues for those who do not master KDE. --- System information. --- Architecture: i386 Kernel: Linux 3.11-2-amd64 Debian Release: jessie/sid 990 testing http.us.debian.org 500 unstable http.us.debian.org 1 experimental debian.mirror.iweb.ca --- Package information. --- Depends (Version) | Installed =-+-=== kde-runtime (>> 4:4.10) | 4:4.11.3-1 libc6 (>= 2.2) | 2.17-97 libgcc1 (>= 1:4.1.1) | 1:4.8.2-1 libkactivities6 (>= 4:4.11) | 4:4.11.3-1 libkcmutils4 (>= 4:4.11) | 4:4.11.3-2 libkdecore5 (>= 4:4.11) | 4:4.11.3-2 libkdeui5 (>= 4:4.11) | 4:4.11.3-2 libkfile4 (>= 4:4.11) | 4:4.11.3-2 libkio5 (>= 4:4.11) | 4:4.11.3-2 libknewstuff3-4 (>= 4:4.11) | 4:4.11.3-2 libkonq5abi1 (>= 4:4.11.2) | 4:4.11.3-1 libkparts4 (>= 4:4.11) | 4:4.11.3-2 libnepomukcore4 (>= 4:4.9.3) | 4:4.11.3-1 libnepomukwidgets4abi1 (>= 4:4.11.1) | 4:4.11.3-1 libphonon4 (>= 4:4.3.0) | 4:4.7.1-1 libplasma3 (>= 4:4.11) | 4:4.11.3-2 libqt4-dbus (>= 4:4.5.3) | 4:4.8.5+git192-g085f851+dfsg-2 libqt4-xml (>= 4:4.5.3) | 4:4.8.5+git192-g085f851+dfsg-2 libqtcore4 (>= 4:4.8.0) | 4:4.8.5+git192-g085f851+dfsg-2 libqtgui4 (>= 4:4.7.0~beta2) | 4:4.8.5+git192-g085f851+dfsg-2 libsolid4 (>= 4:4.11) | 4:4.11.3-2 libsoprano4 (>= 2.1.1) | 2.9.4+dfsg-1 libstdc++6 (>= 4.1.1) | 4.8.2-1 libxrender1 | 1:0.9.8-1 phonon | 4:4.7.1-1 Recommends (Version) | Installed =-+-=== ruby | 1:1.9.3 Suggests (Version) | Installed =-+-=== kdesdk-dolphin-plugins | -- Filipus Klutiero http://www.philippecloutier.com --- End Message --- --- Begin Message --- Version: 4:4.11.5-1 Hi, This issue was fixed upstream in kde-sc 4.11.4, thus I'm tagging the later uploaded versions as fixed. Please contact ow...@bugs.debian.org immediately.) -- 420893: http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=420893 Debian Bug Tracking System Contact ow...@bugs.debian.org with problems --- Begin Message --- Package: konqueror Version: 4:3.5.5a.dfsg.1-6 Severity: normal If system's /etc/fstab defines a partition with LABEL or UUID and with mount option "user" or "users", then Konqueror is unable to mount or umount such partitions. To reproduce: 1) Put something like the following to system's /etc/fstab: LABEL=volumelabel /mnt/mountpoint ext3 defaults,users,noauto 0 0 In which the "volumelabel" is real label of some partition. Find the label with "tune2fs -l /dev/hdXY | grep volume". Alternatively you can use UUID. 2) In Konqueror go to URL media:/ and try to mount this partition. A window pops up: "TITLE: Error - kio_media_mounthelper" / "Permission denied" / "OK". Still it is possible to mount this partition from shell with command "mount /mnt/mountpoint". "pmount LABEL=volumelabel" works too. Additional thoughts: Newer Linux kernels (2.6.20 or something) no longer name IDE disks with hda, hdb, hdc etc. but with sda, sdb, sdc etc. - just like SATA disks or removable media. This means that there is no guarantee anymore that even the system partitions (root, /home etc.) always have the same device names in /dev. Partitions must be referred to with LABEL or UUID as some Linux distributions already do. Hence this Konqueror bug is becoming more and more relevant. -- System Information: Debian Release: 4.0 APT prefers stable APT policy: (900, 'stable') Architecture: i386 (i686) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Kernel: Linux 2.6.18-4-486 Locale: LANG=fi_FI.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=fi_FI.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Versions of packages konqueror depends on: ii kcontrol 4:3.5.5a.dfsg.1-6 control center for KDE ii kdebase-kio-plugins4:3.5.5a.dfsg.1-6 core I/O slaves for KDE ii kdelibs4c2a4:3.5.5a.dfsg.1-8 core libraries and binaries for al ii kdesktop 4:3.5.5a.dfsg.1-6 miscellaneous binaries and files f ii kfind 4:3.5.5a.dfsg.1-6 file-find utility for KDE ii libacl12.2.41-1 Access control list shared library ii libart-2.0-2 2.3.17-1 Library of functions for 2D graphi ii libattr1 2.4.32-1 Extended attribute shared library ii libaudio2 1.8-4 The Network Audio System (NAS). If the (admittedly very annoying) passive pop-up notification is turned on, Konqueror will switch back to the tab where the pop-up happened. So if you're reading a certain story on a news site while loading a couple of others, suddenly the tab would switch. I understand the notification has no other way to indicate which site it belongs to but it's very annoying and completely wrong from a usability perspective, since you suddenly lose all context about where you are and have to reorient yourself about a) in which tab you are and b) what tab you were in. Bug#415364: marked as done (konqueror: completion list for location field has repeated entries)
Your message dated Wed, 30 Jul 2014 15:36:19 +0200 with message-id <20140730133619.gz3...@gnuservers.com.ar> and subject line Re: konqueror: completion list for location field has repeated entries has caused the Debian Bug report #415364, regarding konqueror: completion list for location field has repeated entries to be marked as done. This means that you claim that the problem has been dealt with. If this is not the case it is now your responsibility to reopen the Bug report if necessary, and/or fix the problem forthwith. (NB: If you are a system administrator and have no idea what this message is talking about, this may indicate a serious mail system misconfiguration somewhere. Please contact ow...@bugs.debian.org immediately.) -- 415364: http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=415364 Debian Bug Tracking System Contact ow...@bugs.debian.org with problems --- Begin Message --- Package: konqueror Version: 4:3.5.6.dfsg.1-2 Severity: minor The completion list that is shown as a drop-down list when you start typing an URL may contain repetitions. This is unhelpful and makes you look twice to check if there is any difference. The list should only show unique entries. It seems to happen when the entries are collected from two different sources, such as the available man pages and the recent list. For instance, type "man:man" in the URL field. The completion list shows (depending on installed packages) man:man man:mandb man:manpath man:manpage-alert which is fine. Now press enter to see the manpage for "man" (actually probably a disambiguation page, but never mind), and again type "man:man" in the URL field. Now it shows man:man man:mandb man:manpath man:manpage-alert man:man It gets even more obvious if the prefix is unique, then you get just two identical entries. -- System Information: Debian Release: 4.0 APT prefers testing APT policy: (990, 'testing'), (500, 'unstable'), (500, 'stable'), (1, 'experimental') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Kernel: Linux 2.6.21-rc4-melech Locale: LANG=sv_SE.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=sv_SE.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Versions of packages konqueror depends on: ii kcontrol 4:3.5.6.dfsg.1-2control center for KDE ii kdebase-kio-plugins 4:3.5.6.dfsg.1-2core I/O slaves for KDE ii kdelibs4c2a 4:3.5.6.r1.dfsg.1-2 core libraries and binaries for al ii kdesktop 4:3.5.6.dfsg.1-2miscellaneous binaries and files f ii kfind4:3.5.6.dfsg.1-2file-find utility for KDE ii libacl1 2.2.42-1Access control list shared library ii libart-2.0-2 2.3.19-1Library of functions for 2D graphi ii libattr1 1:2.4.32-1.1Extended attribute shared library ii libaudio21.8-3 The Network Audio System (NAS). Bug#610706: ark: crashes when opening/extracting rar-archives unsupported by unrar-free
Control: clone -1 -2 Control: reassign -2 unrar-free 1:0.0.1+cvs20140707-1 Control: retitle -2 "unrar-free: Segfaults extracting an unsupported file" Control: tag -1 + unreproducible Hi, > When trying to open or extract rar-archives that are not supported by unrar- > free while using unrar-free to provide /usr/bin/unrar Ark crashes. This > behaviour is not observed when either opening rar-archives that unrar-free can > extract or when using unrar-nonfree to provide /usr/bin/unrar. I can't reproduce the issue with the current sid version of ark. What I tested: I searched a random rar file on the web [1], and it caused unrar-free to segfault, the unrar command points to unrar-free. Using ark, it lists the content but can't extract the file (no error is shown). I tested rar file [2], and unrar-free fails to uncompress it (without segfaults), using ark, has the same behavior as before, doesn't extract, no error message is shown, but in any case, no crashes. So, the free rar support works badly, that's granted, but none of this seems to be the issue described by the submitter. Please, if you can still reproduce the issue provide a small rar file to test it. The files I'm testing it with are: [1]: http://sunsite.univie.ac.at/musicres/thammer/HammerSound/localfiles/soundfonts/Male_oohs.rar and: [2]: https://github.com/dolphin-emu/dolphin/raw/master/docs/WiiMote/HID_SPEC_V10.rar Happy hacking, -- “There are two ways of constructing a software design. Comments regarding kdepimlibs_4.13.3-2_amd64.changes
I am going to mark this package for accept, but debian/copyright really needs an update to list the current copyright holders/years. It looks like it was last touched in 2010. If you grep -ir copyright * and look for any results 2010 and later, with the exception of the 2010 copyright of the debian dir, those are not listed in debian/copyright. Bug#752003: ark: SCHILY.fflags headers added with contextual menu
Hi, The 4:4.13.1 version has an incomplete patch to use libarchive as the zip backend, writting a file ends with a badly named tar.gz file. In fact both files are wrong, but one has an additional PaxHeader subdirectory. The patch was fixed in the 4:4.13.2 version, and now ark uses libarchive correctly. Can you please confirm if this fixes the issue for you? Bug#725911: marked as done (ark: incompatible with latest unrar's output format)

Please contact ow...@bugs.debian.org immediately.) -- 725911: http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=725911 Debian Bug Tracking System Contact ow...@bugs.debian.org with problems --- Begin Message --- Package: ark Version: 4:4.10.5-1 Severity: normal Ark suggests either unrar (non-free) or unrar-free in order to correctly display and unpack RAR archives. Please note that such suggests is unversioned. The version of unrar in Wheezy was 1:4.1.4-1 and it worked quite well. In Jessie, however, unrar transitioned from the 4.x series to the 5.x series. In the transition, the output format *drastically* changed, and Ark cannot deal with it anymore. This is an example of the output of unrar 4.x, with its typical 'tabular' style (which, by the way, is very similar to the output of unrar-free). I invoked unrar with the same options as used by Ark itself. The text spans 79 columns, I hope it doesn't get wrapped by some mail processing. $ unrar-nonfree vt -c- -v RARaddin_48x48.theme.rar UNRAR 4.10 freeware Copyright (c) 1993-2012 Alexander Roshal Solid archive RARaddin_48x48.theme.rar Pathname/Comment Size Packed Ratio Date Time Attr CRC Meth Ver Host OSSolid Old --- winrar_theme_description.txt 70 76 108% 08-06-05 19:58 .A. I don't think that the issue can be solved hacking at the dependency level, using e.g. versioned suggests: unrar and unrar-free are managed through the alternatives framework, so there is no guarantee of which version the user has configured. Instead, the issue should probably be forwarded upstream, and solved by a major rewrite of the parser in Ark (and the new parser should be so smart as to tell apart the three formats: unrar 5.x, unrar 4.x and unra

Bug#756552: kde-workspace-bin: unable to unlock locked screen ("unlocking failed")
Package: kde-workspace-bin Version: 4:4.11.9-1 Severity: important When locking the screen (manually or automatically), it's not possible to unlock it. It's not accepting password. According to this https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/kde- workspace/+bug/1312849 there is a problem with running kcheckpass. I'm confirming that changing permissions with "sudo chmod 4755 /usr/lib/kde4/libexec/kcheckpass" solves the problem. * What led up to the situation? locking the screen * What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or ineffective)? typed the right password * What was the outcome of this action? not unlocking the screen -- System Information: Debian Release: jessie/sid APT prefers testing-updates APT policy: (500, 'testing-updates'), (500, 'testing') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Foreign Architectures: i386 Kernel: Linux 3.14-1-amd64 (SMP w/2 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Versions of packages kde-workspace-bin depends on: ii iso-codes 3.55-1 ii kde-runtime 4:4.13.1-1 ii kde-style-oxygen 4:4.11.9-1 ii kde-workspace-data4:4.11.9-1 ii kde-workspace-kgreet-plugins 4:4.11.9-1 ii kscreen 1.0.2.1-1 ii libc6 2.19-7 ii libcln6 1.3.3-1 ii libdbusmenu-qt2 0.9.2-1 ii libfontconfig12.11.0-5 ii libfreetype6 2.5.2-1 ii libgcc1 1:4.9.1-1 ii libgl1-mesa-glx [libgl1] 10.2.4-1 ii libice6 2:1.0.9-1 ii libjpeg8 8d1-1 ii libkactivities6 4:4.13.1-1 ii libkcmutils4 4:4.13.3-1 ii libkdeclarative5 4:4.13.3-1 ii libkdecore5 4:4.13.3-1 ii libkdesu5 4:4.13.3-1 ii libkdeui5 4:4.13.3-1 ii libkfile4 4:4.13.3-1 ii libkidletime4 4:4.13.3-1 ii libkio5 4:4.13.3-1 ii libknewstuff3-4 4:4.13.3-1 ii libknotifyconfig4 4:4.13.3-1 ii libkparts44:4.13.3-1 ii libkpty4 4:4.13.3-1 ii libkscreensaver5 4:4.11.9-1 ii libkworkspace4abi24:4.11.9-1 ii libnepomukcore4 4:4.12.4-1+b1 ii libpam0g 1.1.8-3 ii libphonon44:4.7.1-1 ii libplasma34:4.13.3-1 ii libplasmagenericshell44:4.11.9-1 ii libpng12-01.2.50-1 ii libprocesscore4abi1 4:4.11.9-1 ii libprocessui4a4:4.11.9-1 ii libqalculate5 0.9.7-9 ii libqimageblitz4 1:0.0.6-4 ii libqjson0 0.8.1-3 ii libqt4-dbus 4:4.8.6+dfsg-2 ii libqt4-declarative4:4.8.6+dfsg-2 ii libqt4-sql4:4.8.6+dfsg-2 ii libqt4-xml4:4.8.6+dfsg-2 ii libqtcore44:4.8.6+dfsg-2 ii libqtgui4 4:4.8.6+dfsg-2 ii libsm62:1.2.2-1 ii libsolid4 4:4.13.3-1 ii libsoprano4 2.9.4+dfsg-1.1 ii libstdc++64.9.1-1 ii libstreamanalyzer00.7.8-1.2 ii libudev1 208-6 ii libusb-0.1-4 2:0.1.12-24 ii libx11-6 2:1.6.2-2 ii libxcursor1 1:1.1.14-1 ii libxext6 2:1.3.2-1 ii libxfixes31:5.0.1-2 ii libxft2 2.3.2-1 ii libxi62:1.7.2-1 ii libxinerama1 2:1.1.3-1 ii libxkbfile1 1:1.0.8-1 ii libxrandr22:1.4.2-1 ii libxrender1 1:0.9.8-1 ii libxtst6 2:1.2.2-1 ii phonon4:4.7.1-1 ii plasma-desktop4:4.11.9-1 ii qdbus 4:4.8.6+dfsg-2 ii x11-utils 7.7+2 ii x11-xserver-utils 7.7+3 Versions of packages kde-workspace-bin recommends: ii plasma-scriptengines 4:4.11.9-1 ii policykit-1-gnome 0.105-2 ii polkit-kde-1 0.99.1-1 ii upower0.99.0-3 Versions of packages kde-workspace-bin suggests: ii x11-xkb-utils 7.7+1 -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-qt-kde-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe".
