Bug#775114: [libkdeui5] KRecursiveFilterProxyModel: The model was not working properly
control: severity -1 grave thanks This patch should be included as it fixes a critical bug in kdelibs which renders Kontact unable to show user data. The data is actually there, but not visible or accessible to the user, and therefore is often perceived as a data loss issue. The patch itself is small (-11/+5 lines), contained entirely in private code in the affected library, and comes with a unit test to ensure quality. There is a pending upstream review request to include it upstream which has gone unanswered thus far: https://git.reviewboard.kde.org/r/120119/ We are unsure when it will land upstream due to this lack of attention to the request, but the bug it fixes continues to affect users. So despite waiting for upstream response, it is already being packaged in Fedora packages as well as being shipped to large institutional users (at least one of which uses a Debian OS as the desktop client) by downstream companies such as Kolab Systems. By including this well-tested and already deployed patch, Debian can ensure that users relying on Kontact working well (among other KDE applications which use this same functionality) will not need to go elsewhere (e.g. another downstream) for a patched version of the kdelibs package. Bug#766201: akonadi: using two akonadi-clients on the same imap account results in endless report of new emails
control: reopen -1 766201 thanks Hi, *sigh* it does not make that much fun reopen bugs like closing them :) Many thanks for all these informations. We are nearly at the stage to send this upstream. All in all I would say, the problem are the local filter bogofilter. 'Cause this one modfies the mail (adds headers), so akonadi uploads the new content and the other client sees this new mail and reporcess the mail again with bogofilter. I would suggest you to disable bogofilter and all local filters, to look if the issue has gone. Than we are sure, that this bug is related to bogofilter/local filters. In file dialog for attachments, enable Aside preview. Then browse through files. In my case it's enough to point on a file (without click). If they are plain text, or pictures, preview shows normally. If they are pdf, odt, zip, whole kmail crashes (Segfault). Sometimes I see the KDE crash handler sometimes not. It seems like it crashes on files which it cannot preview by itself and needs some external application. This behavior is the same if i run kmail alone or within kontact. Hi Sandro, yes, youre right. When i disable the bogofilter the game ends immediately... I attached the bogofilter log ... Thx! Kai Am Montag, 19. Bug#775765: does weird things on suspend via K menu
Package: kde-plasma-desktop Version: 5:84 Severity: normal Hi, this may be related to systemd. Things have gotten so complex since then that I am at a loss about how to find out which actual component is to blame. I hope that someone more knowledgeable will be able to properly triage and reassign this. It may be possible that this is a duplicate, which I was not able to determine myself for the same reasons. When I tell my system to suspend to RAM via K Menu - Leave - Suspend to RAM, it properly goes to sleep. However, when I wake it up again, I find myself at a useable, unlocked desktop with a dialog open saying that authentication is necessary to suspend the system. When I enter my password in that dialog, the system goes to sleep again. The ugly bug is: When I tell the system to suspend, it suspends twice in a row. The security relevant bug is: When I tell the system to suspend, and leave the system alone in this state, assuming that my session was locked before going to sleep, I actually lose my session to anybody able to hit the power button since my session is not locked any more before sending the system to sleep. Bug#775763: does weird things on lid close
I have set my KDE in Energy Saving - System Settings so that the screen is locked when I close the lid while the system is on AC power. It is set to suspend on lid close only On Battery and On Low Battery. It looks like the system honors these settings. At least, the moon symbol does not come up when the lid is closed. After opening the lid again, I briefly see my desktop before the sceen lock kicks in. This may be an accidental information disclosure bug. Additionally, a WLAN reconnect seems to happen. The plasma-nm applet shows a swirl and I am prompted for the KWallet password. This is really important since I guess that network connections get severed in this situation. When I tell my system not to suspend on lid close, I do expect it to stay online as well. Bug#761487: This issue makes printouts with okular impossible
Package: okular Version: 4:4.14.2-2 Hello, since we (at work) use an (older) version of okular as default pdf viewer I use it a lot at home (this machine) as well. Unfortunately, this printout issue makes it unsuitable for printing out. I experience for some time that files printed out with okular are missing pices at the borders. I now tried to print out the official German tax forms for 2014 and again, they are missing parts at the edges. Printing the *same* form with the *same* CUPS printer driver using evince instead results in a complete page. Comparing the print outs, the topmost visible part of the okular print out seems shifted up by about 1 cm (though it is missing something at the top) and shifted left by a few mm. At the same time, the okular print out is expanded, i.e. on the right hand side some parts are missing, the right most part visible is about 5 mm to the right compared to the evince print out. At the bottom again some parts are missing, the bottom most part visible on the okular print out is about 8 mm lower than on the evince print. Please note that there is still paper left on all edges of the okular printout, so it appears as if the printout was expanded and cropped *before* handed out to the CUPS printing system. Please tell me if/which additional information you need to track this down. (And it would be great if it could be fixed possibly for Jessi or a later point release). Maybe there is a test page which contains clear marks (like many printers have built in). I could try it both in okular and (as a comparision) in evince. I'm using the driver FS-1020D for the Kyocera printer of the same name. -- System Information: Debian Release: 8.0 APT prefers testing APT policy: (500, 'testing') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Locale: LANG=de_DE.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=de_DE.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) (ignored: LC_ALL set to de_DE.UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Init: sysvinit (via /sbin/init) Versions of packages okular depends on: ii kde-runtime 4:4.14.2-2 ii libc6 2.19-13 ii libfreetype62.5.2-2 ii libjpeg62-turbo 1:1.3.1-11 ii libkactivities6 4:4.13.3-1 ii libkdecore5 4:4.14.2-4 ii libkdeui5 4:4.14.2-4 ii libkexiv2-114:4.14.2-1 ii libkio5 4:4.14.2-4 ii libkparts4 4:4.14.2-4 ii libkprintutils4 4:4.14.2-4 ii libkpty44:4.14.2-4 ii libokularcore5 4:4.14.2-2 ii libphonon4 4:4.8.0-4 ii libpoppler-qt4-40.26.5-2 ii libqca2 2.0.3-6 ii libqimageblitz4 1:0.0.6-4 ii libqmobipocket1 4:4.14.2-1 ii libqt4-dbus 4:4.8.6+git64-g5dc8b2b+dfsg-2+b1 ii libqt4-declarative 4:4.8.6+git64-g5dc8b2b+dfsg-2+b1 ii libqt4-svg 4:4.8.6+git64-g5dc8b2b+dfsg-2+b1 ii libqt4-xml 4:4.8.6+git64-g5dc8b2b+dfsg-2+b1 ii libqtcore4 4:4.8.6+git64-g5dc8b2b+dfsg-2+b1 ii libqtgui4 4:4.8.6+git64-g5dc8b2b+dfsg-2+b1 ii libsolid4 4:4.14.2-4 ii libspectre1 0.2.7-3 ii libstdc++6 4.9.1-19 ii phonon 4:4.8.0-4 ii zlib1g 1:1.2.8.dfsg-2+b1 okular recommends no packages.
