Bug#836139: Downgrading network-manager to 1.2.4-2 fix the issue.

2016-08-30 Thread Viktor Malyarchuk
Package: libkf5networkmanagerqt6
Version: 5.25.0-1
Followup-For: Bug #836139

Dear Maintainer,

the workaround for this bug is downgrading network-manager to the version in
testing.

Work fine with network-manager=1.2.4-2

Best regards,
Vitkor

Bug#836139: networkmanager: Fails to connect to wifi networks

2016-08-30 Thread Kyle Robbertze
Package: libkf5networkmanagerqt6
Version: 5.25.0-1
Severity: important
File: networkmanager

Dear Maintainer,

Updating nm breaks its ability to connect to Wifi networks.

I am using a broadcom chip with the firmware-sta-dkms package installed.
It worked well until I updated to 5.25.0-1 when, although it saw the
wifi networks around me, it cannot connect to them (log attached)

A work around is to disable mac address randomization as described in
[1]. However while using this work around, the plasma widget in the
system tray shows that the network is not connected (the icon is the blank
wifi symbol with a question mark), however it is actually connected and
working.

I do not know if the fix that has been committed upstream [2] solves
this second issue or not.

Thanks

Bug#836108: libaccounts-qt: please use dbus-run-session to run tests

2016-08-30 Thread Simon McVittie
Source: libaccounts-qt
Version: 1.13+20150813-1
Severity: normal
User: d...@packages.debian.org
Usertags: dbus-launch dbus-launch-for-tests

As described in
I'm trying to reduce how much dbus-launch is used in Debian.
This package currently uses dbus-x11 for tests, explicitly launching
dbus-launch. It also seems to be missing the necessary build-dependency
on dbus-x11 - presumably that gets pulled in by something else,
or the "cd -" masks the error.

It should be possible to replace dbus-x11 as follows:

* add a build-dependency on dbus (>= 1.8)
* replace "xvfb-run -a dbus-launch --exit-with-session make check" with
  "xvfb-run -a dbus-run-session -- make check"

If D-Bus is the only reason you are using xvfb, you can remove that too,
and just use "dbus-run-session -- make check".

While you're editing the override_dh_auto_test stanza, it's probably also
a good idea to use "&&" instead of ";" so that test failures aren't
ignored, and remove the "cd -" bashism. (Each line of a Makefile recipe
is run in its own shell invocation, so cd'ing to a directory does not
affect subsequent lines unless you use "\" for line joining.)

Thanks,
S

Even if I could check the "Qt side" of the patch I would also not be able to
asser the correctnes of the openssl side. But on the other hand Qt4 is dead
upstream, so we could push it to the archive and see what happens... Not the
best idea around, but a compromise solution. And we only have less than three
months before freeze :-/

But even if we could do that with Qt4 we would still have to fix Qt5 too.
OpenSSL final was released a couple of days ago, so upstream will probably
start to work on this soon.We want upstream to do this change because they
know much better than us what's around the code. But this also means that this
won't be ready for stretch.

I do *really* understand that, much in the same way I would like to support
only Qt5, it would be preferable to support only one openssl version in
stretch, but I think we are already too late for this from the Qt side.

I would be perfectly happy to push the Qt4 patch once we get stretch released,
and we will probably have a compatible Qt5 version around that time too.

Kinds regards, Lisandro.

IIRC the last patch applies properly and compiles with openssl 1.0 and
1.1, but since the package doesn't run a test suite at build time I
have no Idea whether it breaks functionality or not.

As I pointed out before, I'm neither anopenssl nor a Qt expert, so
additional reviews of the patch would probably be sensible.

database and may (or may not) still be in the pool; this is not a bug.
The package(s) will be physically removed automatically when no suite
references them (and in the case of source, when no binary references
it). Please also remember that the changes have been done on the
master archive and will not propagate to any mirrors until the next
dinstall run at the earliest.

Packages are usually not removed from testing by hand. Testing tracks
unstable and will automatically remove packages which were removed
from unstable when removing them from testing causes no dependency
problems. The release team can force a removal from testing if it is
really needed, please contact them if this should be the case.

We try to close bugs which have been reported against this package
automatically. But please check all old bugs, if they were closed
correctly or should have been re-assigned to another package.

Thank you for reporting the bug, which will now be closed. If you
have further comments please address them to 835...@bugs.debian.org.
