Bug#836894: Please add support for LXDE desktop

2016-09-06 Thread Raphaël Halimi
Package: qt4-x11
Version: 4:4.8.7+dfsg-8
Severity: wishlist
Tags: upstream patch

Hi,

Same rationale as #825769, here is a small patch to allow Qt4 to detect
when they're running under LXDE desktop, and behave like they're run
under Gnome (mainly, use the current GTK theme).

I tested it under LXDE and it seems to work; it's also quite simple and
thus unlikely to change anything under other desktops.

Regards,

Please give back plasma-desktop on armel and armhf

2016-09-06 Thread Maximiliano Curia

Hi,

The latest upload of plasma-desktop [1] failed to build in armel and armhf,
due to memory exhaustion. At the same time it built fine in my local
olinuxino-lime SBC (1G of ram + 2g swap). I think this is has to be a hiccup
in those machines. Could you please give back plasma-desktop in those arches?

Alright. But isn't being able to choose a desktop environment a core
functionality of a display manager?

I don't remember xdm having a session selection (other than the .xsession
file). Also, you can choose your desktop environment, it just won't record the
last one chosen by each user (but only the last one chosen globally).

Anyway, the feature request upstream is:
https://github.com/sddm/sddm/issues/346

It's currently a post 1.0 goal, with some discussions about whether to use
~/.dmrc, AccountsService or sssd...

Maybe a patch could move things forward (nudge, nudge).

Bug#836816: calligra-l10-*: not installable in sid

2016-09-06 Thread Ralf Treinen
Package: calligra-l10n-bs
Version: 1:2.8.5-1
Severity: serious
User: trei...@debian.org
Usertags: edos-uninstallable

Hi,

I am filing this bug against calligra-l10n-bs but in fact it is the same
for all calligra-l10n-* packages. They are not installable in sid, at least
since 2015-09-11, since they depend on calligra-libs which does not exist
in sid.

Are these packages cruft? The calligra packages only exists in <= stable,
and as source in sid.

Yes, its still the same problem. Even booting without HDMI monitor gives
the same result. Another user get the panel correctly. Can I remove some
config files to fix this?

I tried removing .local/share/kscreen and restart the machine. Is there
any other file I can try and remove? Now the panel has moved to laptop
screen once I connect the HDMI monitor (I made Laptop screen as primary
in system settings). But if I remove the HDMI cable, the panel vanishes.

Lets hope that fixes it.

Alright. But isn't being able to choose a desktop environment a core
functionality of a display manager?

I have connected an HDMI monitor to my laptop and the menu and panel
appears on the HDMI monitor, but when I remove the HDMI cable, the menu
and panel does not appear on the laptop screen.

I have to use run command and alt tab as a fallback. But I miss
notifications, especially the power status and network status.

This should be handled by kscreen, so I'm reassigning the issue. I can't
reproduce the issue here (with an Intel HD Graphics 3000), I'm not sure if
this is somehow fixed in 5.7.4 or it was caused by something external
(hardware or dependency). Is the issue still reproducible using kscreen 5.7.4?

What shows the xrandr output before and after unplugging the hdmi cable?

Searching in the upstream bugs I found this one:
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=366067

That might be related, sadly, while it claims that's fixed for 5.8, it doesn't
point to the corresponding commits, so we can only wait for 5.8.

Happy hacking,

Sorry, this is bug alright, it's annoying, but still, it's a bug, it doesn't
merit a grave severity.

I have two users in my system and when using sddm, each user has to
select their preferred desktop session **EVERY** single time. One user
wants KDE/Plasma and another GNOME. When first users selects GNOME and
logout, the second user also gets GNOME, even when they have selected
KDE/Plasma as their preferred session in previous login.

As a workaround you could use the .xsession script to start the desired
session to each user.
