Yes, and that's exactly one of the issues, and not the first time this issue happens. Since these packages are (still) team-maintained, uploading things without checking a) what is done in git b) what was already uploaded, and/or stuck in some queue somewhere is not really acceptable. Please be respectful of other people's work. > Is there any real change missing in 5.36.0-1 apart from the changelog > block? The point is not this. The point is that somebody else did work, which is ATM stuck somewhere for "review", so pushing more work based on things that may change is not a good idea. breeze-icons contains only an icon theme, so I don't see even the "urgency" nor the pressure to push things like that. I would have updated it to a newer version, in case the rest of frameworks is uploaded to unstable before 5.28.0-2 is out of NEW and migrated to testing. -- Pino Toscano signature.asc Description: This is a digitally signed message part.
Bug#861318: Globe (Marble), too!
Thanks for taking the time to let me know how to handle this. I submitted bug 382109 - "Marble missing in kdeplasma-addons version 5" to the kde bugtracker on 7/7/17. Bug#812752: phonon: please depend on phonon-backend-gstreamer on hurd
Hello, Maximiliano Curia, on mer. 12 juil. 2017 09:43:38 +0200, wrote: > It seems to me that libldb is needed for the vlc samba plugin, which is > optional for vlc, also phonon4qt5-backend-vlc is only the recommended > backend, but it should be replaceable with phonon4qt5-backend-gstreamer or > phonon4qt5-backend-null at package resolution time if phonon4qt5-backend-vlc > is uninstallable. Sure, but buildds don't do that automatically. > Anyway, I think this issue should be solved by now, but I don't have a hurd > machine to test this, could you please recheck if this issue is still > affecting hurd? It is still a problem: # apt-get build-dep akonadi ... builddeps:akonadi : Depends: kdesignerplugin (>= 5.16.0~) but it is not going to be installed Depends: kio-dev (>= 5.16.0~) but it is not going to be installed ... # apt-get install kio-dev libkf5kio-dev kio libkf5notifications5 libkf5notifications5 : Depends: phonon4qt5 but it is not going to be installed # apt-get install kio-dev libkf5kio-dev kio libkf5notifications5 phonon4qt5 ... The following NEW packages will be installed: ... phonon-backend-gstreamer-common phonon4qt5 phonon4qt5-backend-gstreamer so apt manages to pick up the gstreamer version. But that's not what the buildd resolver does: it always picks the first alternative, so as to get deterministic behavior. For those KDE applications, I do add the dep by hand to get things built, but that's not how it is to be done. Samuel

Bug#812752: phonon: please depend on phonon-backend-gstreamer on hurd
¡Hola Samuel! El 2016-01-26 a las 11:07 +0100, Samuel Thibault escribió: Most of KDE is currently not buildable on hurd-i386 because phonon tries to pull phonon-backend-vlc, which is currently not installable due to the missing libldb-dev support on hurd for now (the person working on this is still working on this, but it seems to be taking months). Quick update: phonon-backend-vlc is no longer the recommended backend for the qt4 version of phonon, but phonon4qt5-backend-vlc is still the recommended backend for the qt5 version. It seems to me that libldb is needed for the vlc samba plugin, which is optional for vlc, also phonon4qt5-backend-vlc is only the recommended backend, but it should be replaceable with phonon4qt5-backend-gstreamer or phonon4qt5-backend-null at package resolution time if phonon4qt5-backend-vlc is uninstallable. Anyway, I think this issue should be solved by now, but I don't have a hurd machine to test this, could you please recheck if this issue is still affecting hurd? Bug#823159: phonon: No Sound at all on Thinkpad T560
¡Hola Maria/Rafael! El 2016-05-02 a las 11:14 +0200, Rafael Maria Raschkowski escribió: I just noticed, that in Mint 17.3 Sound works on the Live-iso although they use the older 3.19 Kernel. Maybe that helps. Sound doesn't work at all with this installation on this computer. I used netinst jessie (stable) to install KDE. This is just to inform you as unlucklily I have to change to Mint although I don't like their intransparent non-free policy. Maybe I'll try again in half a year. I would expect this to be an issue of pulseaudio or alsa, and not particularly of phonon, unless phonon it's using the null backend (which would cause the no sound for kde apps), it forwards the sound requests to it's backends (vlc for the looks of the reported installed packages). Could you please test playing some sound with vlc directly? if that doesn't work, then the problem is either in vlc or in a lower level.
