Bug#887793: okular: Does not display text (the text is there and you can copy it) when it contains accents
Package: okular Version: 4:16.08.2-1+b1 Severity: important Dear Maintainer, After one of the latest security updates in debian stretch some pdf files started to display "transparent" text. I think that this is related to pdf with accents. Another user (http://forums.debian.net/viewtopic.php?f=6=135888) says that thi happens when generating a pdf from latex and using \usepackage[T1]{fontenc}, needed for accentuated text. -- System Information: Debian Release: 9.3 APT prefers stable-updates APT policy: (500, 'stable-updates'), (500, 'stable') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 4.13.0-0.bpo.1-amd64 (SMP w/4 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=es_ES.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=es_ES.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8), LANGUAGE= (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Init: systemd (via /run/systemd/system) Versions of packages okular depends on: ii kde-runtime 4:16.08.3-2 ii libc6 2.24-11+deb9u1 ii libfreetype62.6.3-3.2 ii libjpeg62-turbo 1:1.5.1-2 ii libkdecore5 4:4.14.26-2 ii libkdeui5 4:4.14.26-2 ii libkexiv2-114:15.04.3-1 ii libkio5 4:4.14.26-2 ii libkparts4 4:4.14.26-2 ii libkprintutils4 4:4.14.26-2 ii libkpty44:4.14.26-2 ii libokularcore7 4:16.08.2-1+b1 ii libphonon4 4:4.9.0-4 ii libpoppler-qt4-40.48.0-2+deb9u1 ii libqca2 2.1.1-4+b2 ii libqimageblitz4 1:0.0.6-4+b2 ii libqmobipocket1 4:16.08.0-1 ii libqt4-dbus 4:4.8.7+dfsg-11 ii libqt4-declarative 4:4.8.7+dfsg-11 ii libqt4-svg 4:4.8.7+dfsg-11 ii libqt4-xml 4:4.8.7+dfsg-11 ii libqtcore4 4:4.8.7+dfsg-11 ii libqtgui4 4:4.8.7+dfsg-11 ii libsolid4 4:4.14.26-2 ii libspectre1 0.2.8-1 ii libstdc++6 6.3.0-18 ii phonon 4:4.9.0-4 ii zlib1g 1:1.2.8.dfsg-5 Versions of packages okular recommends: ii cups-bsd 2.2.1-8 Versions of packages okular suggests: ii ghostscript9.20~dfsg-3.2+deb9u1 ii jovie 4:16.08.0-1+b1 pn okular-extra-backends ii poppler-data 0.4.7-8 ii texlive-binaries 2016.20160513.41080.dfsg-2 pn unrar -- no debconf information
Bug#839236: same problem
Dear Maintainers, I am having the same problem as that signalled by B.N.S.Robson, on the current stable version 0.14.0-4 of sddm. I have an old desktop i686 (MB ASUS A7V600-X, AMD Athlon XP 2400+, ATI Radeon 9200) on which Jessie with KDE4 is running fine. I tried a clean install, on a separated partition, of Stretch 9.3 with KDE desktop. No error during installation, but at the start-up the graphic login is not activated (screen totally black, and no mouse pointer), and can only log via tty2. The last line of the dmesg output (file attached) reads “sddm-greeter[456]: segfault at 4 ip af76076d sp bfe6e500 error 4 in libLLVM-3.9.so.1[aee5a000+2d1b000]” I tried reinstalling with the Xfce desktop instead of KDE, and it looks ok. I had the same situation also with Stretch 9.2.1 and filed a bug a couple of months ago (#881543). against the package libllvm3.9. And up to now I did not see any follow-up at all. Now I found that this same bug was signalled more than one year ago, but also this is left without any even minimal comment in the “Unclassified”. Bug#887788: plasma-workspace: plasmashell process leaks memory: memory is lost proportionally with time
Package: plasma-workspace Version: 4:5.10.5-2+b1 Severity: important Dear Maintainer, (using Debian 10 testing/buster, every package updated to latest as of2018-1-19) I've discovered that the plasmashell process is leaking memory at a fast rate, actions needed to reproduce: log in to KDE, open ksysguard, wait 30 minutes and +/- 1 GiB is lost in that time interval. I didn't do anything besides updating my system. I also rebooted, it keeps leaking. I'm using X11 VESA driver, and not the AMD/Nvidia ones, as those tend to create even worse leaks (sometimes). I don't think I can do anything to avoid this problem, as I don't think it is configuration-related, I think this is development-related and introduced with an update. If there's anything else I can do, or send more info, please tell me. Thanks. -- System Information: Debian Release: buster/sid APT prefers testing APT policy: (500, 'testing') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Foreign Architectures: i386 Kernel: Linux 4.14.0-2-amd64 (SMP w/8 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8), LANGUAGE=en_US (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Init: systemd (via /run/systemd/system) LSM: AppArmor: enabled Versions of packages plasma-workspace depends on: ii dbus-x11 1.12.2-1 ii frameworkintegration 5.37.0-2 ii gdb 7.12-6+b1 ii iso-codes3.77-1 ii kactivitymanagerd5.10.5-2 ii kde-cli-tools4:5.10.5-2 ii kded55.37.0-2 ii kinit5.37.0-2 ii kio 5.37.0-2 ii kpackagetool55.37.0-2 ii kwin-common 4:5.10.5-2+b1 ii libappstreamqt2 0.11.7-1 ii libc62.26-4 ii libcln6 1.3.4-2+b1 ii libgcc1 1:7.2.0-19 ii libgps23 3.17-5 ii libice6 2:1.0.9-2 ii libkf5activities55.37.0-2 ii libkf5auth5 5.37.0-2 ii libkf5baloo5 5.37.0-2 ii libkf5bookmarks5 5.37.0-2 ii libkf5calendarevents55.37.0-2+b1 ii libkf5completion55.37.0-2 ii libkf5configcore55.37.0-2 ii libkf5configgui5 5.37.0-2 ii libkf5configwidgets5 5.37.0-2 ii libkf5coreaddons55.37.0-3 ii libkf5crash5 5.37.0-2 ii libkf5dbusaddons55.37.0-2 ii libkf5declarative5 5.37.0-2+b1 ii libkf5globalaccel-bin5.37.0-2 ii libkf5globalaccel5 5.37.0-2 ii libkf5guiaddons5 5.37.0-2 ii libkf5holidays5 17.08.3-1 ii libkf5i18n5 5.37.0-2 ii libkf5iconthemes55.37.0-2 ii libkf5idletime5 5.37.0-2 ii libkf5itemviews5 5.37.0-2 ii libkf5jobwidgets55.37.0-2 ii libkf5js55.37.0-2 ii libkf5jsembed5 5.37.0-2 ii libkf5kdelibs4support5 5.37.0-2 ii libkf5kiocore5 5.37.0-2 ii libkf5kiofilewidgets55.37.0-2 ii libkf5kiowidgets55.37.0-2 ii libkf5networkmanagerqt6 5.37.0-2 ii libkf5newstuff5 5.37.0-2 ii libkf5notifications5 5.37.0-2 ii libkf5notifyconfig5 5.37.0-2 ii libkf5package5 5.37.0-2 ii libkf5plasma55.37.0-2 ii libkf5plasmaquick5 5.37.0-2 ii libkf5prison55.37.0-2 ii libkf5quickaddons5 5.37.0-2+b1 ii libkf5runner55.37.0-2 ii libkf5service-bin5.37.0-2 ii libkf5service5 5.37.0-2 ii libkf5solid5 5.37.0-2 ii libkf5texteditor55.37.0-2+b1 ii libkf5textwidgets5 5.37.0-2 ii libkf5wallet-bin 5.37.0-2 ii libkf5wallet55.37.0-2 ii libkf5waylandclient5 4:5.37.0-2 ii libkf5widgetsaddons5 5.37.0-2 ii libkf5windowsystem5 5.37.0-2 ii libkf5xmlgui55.37.0-2 ii libkf5xmlrpcclient5 5.37.0-2 ii libkscreenlocker55.10.5.1-1 ii

The handling of the NEW queue is outside the control of this team, and the FTP Masters team is the *only* in change of it. Asking here basically is worthless, since we cannot do anything about the NEW queue (if not just poke the FTP Masters). Comments regarding qt5ct_0.34-1_amd64.changes
I am going to accept the package, but please address the following issues in your next upload: Do not ship the AUTHORS file in docs. Anyone who holds copyright on item in the package has to be listed in debian/copyright (policy 2.3), which does not seem to be the case here. As such, it's just package bloat. Come up with a solution for environment variable setting other than manual user edits. (policy 9.9) Scott K
Bug#887772: kmail - does not start akonadiserver automatically
Package: kmail Version: 4:17.08.3-2 Severity: minor Dear Maintainer, I do non know, if this is intended or a bug. Since kmail (version 17.X.X) one has to start akonadiserver manually, when kmail is started at the first time (and no other application needs akonadiserver). I do not know, if this behaviour was intended by the developer or a bug. I checked the chanhelog, but there was nothing mentioned in that sense. So I allow me, to point to this here. However, when this was intended by the developer(s), just close the bug. Just thought it worth, to mention it Best regards Hans -- System Information: Debian Release: buster/sid APT prefers testing APT policy: (500, 'testing'), (500, 'stable') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 4.14.0-2-686-pae (SMP w/2 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=de_DE.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=de_DE.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8), LANGUAGE= (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Init: systemd (via /run/systemd/system) LSM: AppArmor: enabled Versions of packages kmail depends on: ii akonadi-server 4:17.08.3-2 ii kdepim-runtime 4:17.08.3-3 ii kio 5.37.0-2 ii libc62.26-4 ii libgcc1 1:7.2.0-19 ii libgpgmepp6 1.10.0-1 ii libkf5akonadiagentbase5 4:17.08.3-2 ii libkf5akonadicontact54:17.08.3-1 ii libkf5akonadicore5 4:17.08.3-2 ii libkf5akonadimime5 4:17.08.3-1 ii libkf5akonadisearch-bin 4:17.08.3-1 ii libkf5akonadisearch-plugins 4:17.08.3-1 ii libkf5akonadisearchdebug54:17.08.3-1 ii libkf5akonadisearchpim5 4:17.08.3-1 ii libkf5akonadiwidgets54:17.08.3-2 ii libkf5bookmarks5 5.37.0-2 ii libkf5calendarcore5 4:17.08.3-1 ii libkf5calendarutils5 4:17.08.3-1 ii libkf5codecs55.37.0-2 ii libkf5completion55.37.0-2 ii libkf5configcore55.37.0-2 ii libkf5configgui5 5.37.0-2 ii libkf5configwidgets5 5.37.0-2 ii libkf5contacts5 4:17.08.3-1 ii libkf5coreaddons55.37.0-3 ii libkf5crash5 5.37.0-2 ii libkf5dbusaddons55.37.0-2 ii libkf5followupreminder5 4:17.08.3-1 ii libkf5grantleetheme-plugins 17.08.3-1 ii libkf5gravatar5 4:17.08.3-1 ii libkf5guiaddons5 5.37.0-2 ii libkf5i18n5 5.37.0-2 ii libkf5iconthemes55.37.0-2 ii libkf5identitymanagement517.08.3-1 ii libkf5itemmodels55.37.0-2 ii libkf5itemviews5 5.37.0-2 ii libkf5jobwidgets55.37.0-2 ii libkf5kcmutils5 5.37.0-2 ii libkf5kiocore5 5.37.0-2 ii libkf5kiofilewidgets55.37.0-2 ii libkf5kiowidgets55.37.0-2 ii libkf5kontactinterface5 17.08.3-1 ii libkf5ksieveui5 4:17.08.3-2 ii libkf5libkdepim-plugins 4:17.08.3-1 ii libkf5libkdepim5 4:17.08.3-1 ii libkf5libkdepimakonadi5 4:17.08.3-1 ii libkf5libkleo5 4:17.08.3-1 ii libkf5mailcommon-plugins 4:17.08.3-1 ii libkf5mailcommon54:17.08.3-1 ii libkf5mailtransport5 17.08.3-2 ii libkf5mailtransportakonadi5 17.08.3-2 ii libkf5messagecomposer5 4:17.08.3-1 ii libkf5messagecore5 4:17.08.3-1 ii libkf5messagelist5 4:17.08.3-1 ii libkf5messageviewer5 4:17.08.3-1 ii libkf5mime5 17.08.3-1 ii libkf5mimetreeparser54:17.08.3-1 ii libkf5notifications5 5.37.0-2 ii libkf5notifyconfig5 5.37.0-2 ii libkf5parts5 5.37.0-2 ii libkf5pimcommon-plugins 4:17.08.3-1 ii libkf5pimcommon5 4:17.08.3-1 ii libkf5pimcommonakonadi5 4:17.08.3-1 ii libkf5pimtextedit5 17.08.3-1 ii libkf5sendlater5 4:17.08.3-1 ii libkf5service-bin5.37.0-2 ii libkf5service5 5.37.0-2 ii libkf5sonnetui5 5.37.0-2 ii libkf5templateparser54:17.08.3-1 ii libkf5textwidgets5 5.37.0-2 ii libkf5tnef5 4:17.08.3-1 ii libkf5wallet-bin 5.37.0-2 ii libkf5wallet55.37.0-2 ii libkf5webengineviewer5 4:17.08.3-1 ii libkf5widgetsaddons5 5.37.0-2 ii libkf5windowsystem5 5.37.0-2 ii libkf5xmlgui55.37.0-2 ii libqgpgme7 1.10.0-1 ii libqt5core5a 5.9.2+dfsg-6 ii libqt5dbus5 5.9.2+dfsg-6 ii libqt5gui5 5.9.2+dfsg-6 ii libqt5network5 5.9.2+dfsg-6 ii libqt5widgets5 5.9.2+dfsg-6 ii libqt5xml5 5.9.2+dfsg-6 ii libstdc++6 7.2.0-19 Versions of packages kmail recommends: ii accountwizard 4:17.08.3-1 ii gnupg 2.2.4-1 ii kdepim-addons 17.08.3-1 ii kdepim-themeeditors 4:17.08.3-1 ii mbox-importer

For many menus and submenus, before this update, the translation was good. But after this same update, many menus switch from french to english, although french language is chosen in kde settings. The problems occurs for both testing and unstable versions. I wait for a solution to solve the problem. Kind regards, Etienne. --- End Message --- --- Begin Message --- ¡Hola Etienne! Bug#887746: okular: Please package new upstream version 17.12.1
Package: okular Version: 4:17.08.3-2 Severity: wishlist Dear Maintainer, thanks for maintaining Okular for Debian and providing a Qt 5 based version with version 17.08.3. In the meanwhile, upstream has released version 17.12.1 and it would be great if that one could be packaged for Debian. It seems that qmake's argument parsing is position dependent and the insertion of -qtconf breaks the handling. This issue has been spotted elsewhere already: https://stackoverflow.com/questions/6592931/building-for-windows-under-linux-using-qt-creator The easy fix is to special case the -query handling and insert it early. I checked that doing so still considers the -qtconf and gives query results for that qt.conf. So this should work. qsynth still needs to switch to AC_PATH_TOOL to see the issue. Please contact ow...@bugs.debian.org immediately.) -- 886437: https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=886437 Debian Bug Tracking System Contact ow...@bugs.debian.org with problems --- Begin Message --- Package: libqt5core5a Version: 5.9.0~beta+dfsg-1 Severity: important As a fix for bug 805399, the file /etc/xdg/QtProject/qtlogging.ini was added to disable debug output from Qt (using *.debug = false). This fix breaks the developer experience, because it makes qDebug() do nothing when working on a Qt application. The way it's supposed to work is that KDE apps and libs are supposed to be using categorized logging (qCDebug, qCWarning etc.), with severity "debug" being disabled by default. This way, the default category, the one used by qDebug(), should keep working. Bug 805399 shows for instance this line: org.kde.kded5[4940]: org.kde.kurifilter-shorturi: path = "xterm" isLocalFullPath= false exists= false url= QUrl("xterm") This comes from KIO (which I maintain). Investigation shows this one has been fixed : since KDE Frameworks 5.23, the logging category is defined as QLoggingCategory category("org.kde.kurifilter-shorturi", QtWarningMsg); which means warnings (and above) are enabled by default, but debug is disabled by default. The debug messages from kioremote don't exist anymore since commit 2a3b74df in plasma-workspace (the code has now moved to kio). So, overall, I think the underlying issue is fixed, we're trying to be better citizens by using qCDebug and by disabling debug output for all specific categories (since Qt 5.4 which supports it). Conclusion: please remove /etc/xdg/QtProject/qtlogging.ini again. -- David Faure, fa...@kde.org, http://www.davidfaure.fr Working on KDE Frameworks 5 --- End Message --- --- Begin Message --- Source: qtbase-opensource-src Source-Version: 5.9.2+dfsg-7 We believe that the bug you reported is fixed in the latest version of qtbase-opensource-src, which is due to be installed in the Debian FTP archive. Need to get 57.8 MB of archives. After this operation, 81.9 MB of additional disk space will be used. ^^^ Please make marble-qt usable without any KDE components again. P.S.: Technically this bug is not release-critical, but IMHO a marble-qt with KDE dependencies should not migrate to testing, so feel free to bump the severity to serious. -- System Information: Debian Release: buster/sid APT prefers unstable APT policy: (990, 'unstable'), (980, 'unstable-debug'), (600, 'testing'), (111, 'buildd-unstable'), (111, 'buildd-experimental'), (110, 'experimental'), (105, 'experimental-debug') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 4.13.0-1-amd64 (SMP w/4 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=C.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=C.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8), LANGUAGE=C.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Init: systemd (via /run/systemd/system) Versions of packages marble-qt depends on: [bogus data, because I refuse to update marble-qt due to the above] marble-qt recommends no packages. marble-qt suggests no packages. -- no debconf information --- End Message --- --- Begin Message --- Source: marble Source-Version: 4:17.08.3-3 We believe that the bug you reported is fixed in the latest version of marble, which is due to be installed in the Debian FTP archive.
