Bug#908588: Some more observations
Evidently, the "fix" doesn't seem to have the intended effect. Launching Akregator just now spawned three "HTTP Cache Cleaner" instances and the animated cursor, with the plasma-desktop process increasing its activity. I suppose it is possible that the referenced .desktop file is not involved, but the /usr/lib/kde4/libexec/kio_http_cache_cleaner program does seem to be invoked. Paul

Bug#907460: kdepim-runtime: /usr/bin/akonadi_imap_resource keeps crashing preventing kmail to work

I'm seeing the same problem with version 17.12.3-2 (tracking testing/unstable). The akonadi_imap_resource shows in akonadiconsole with many connection tasks and creates a lot of aborted connection attempts (sockets in TIME_WAIT) while thrashing wildly. Bug#908649: kmail2: kmail - TLS negotiation was unsuccessful
I suppose, the problem is that openssl minimum protocoll version changed to 1.2 and your mail server supports only 1.0. You could probably restore the old version by changing the last section of /etc/sll/openssl.cnf from [system_default_sect] MinProtocol = TLSv1.2 CipherString = DEFAULT@SECLEVEL=2 to [system_default_sect] MinProtocol = TLSv1.2 CipherString = DEFAULT@SECLEVEL=1 Perhaps you need to change the MinProtocol line to MinProtocol = TLSv1.0 Reinhard
Bug#908649: kmail2: kmail - TLS negotiation was unsuccessful
Package: kmail Version: 4:17.12.3-1 Severity: important File: kmail2 Dear Maintainer, running debian/testing running kmail I can not get mails from the mailserver. It looks like this is the same problem, which appewared in 2016. Please see the description of the bug here: https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=363531 It looks like the same bug is now appearing again, as it shows the identical errors as desribed in the bug of 2016. (So I need not to bother you with the same description again and again). It would be nice if you could take a look at it. Thank you very much indeed!
