As I've found out now (after having some mails exchanged with the KAddressbook
maintainer Tobias Koenig) - this problem exists only for addressbooks that
were added via the option "traditional address book".

Other options as e.g. VCard files or VCard folders are not affected by this
problem.

Kind regards,

Klaus

installing GTK-QT-Engine with KDE default installation

2010-09-15 Thread Klaus Staerk

Hi Debian/KDE maintainers,

when a machine is installed with Debian squeeze netinst cd with KDE as
"alternative desktop environment", there are 2 packages missing which allow
the GTK based apps to be shown in KDE style.

The necessary package would be "gtk-qt-engine" and "gtk2-engines-qtcurve".

When I install these 2 packages manually, the following additional packages
are installed:

kde-config-gtk-style

As soon as these 3 packages are installed, the look of the GTK based apps can
be configured in the KDE system settings. I would propose to preconfigure these
settings in that way that GTK apps use KDE qtcurve style + KDE fonts.

Kind regards,

Klaus

installing KIPI plugins with KDE default installation

2010-09-15 Thread Klaus Staerk

Hi Debian/KDE maintainers,

when a machine is installed with Debian squeeze netinst cd with KDE as
"alternative desktop environment", there's always the Gwenview package
installed. Unfortunately, the KIPI plugins are not installed - but these are
IMHO very important when I use Gwenview.

The necessary package would be "kipi-plugins".

When I install kipi-plugins manually, the following additional packages are
installed:

enblend enfuse hugin hugin-data hugin-tools kipi-plugins kipi-plugins-common
libboost-filesystem1.42.0 libboost-system1.42.0
  libboost-thread1.42.0 libcv4 libcvaux4 libdc1394-22 libglew1.5 libhighgui4
libimage-exiftool-perl libkdcraw8 libksane0 libpano13-1
  libpano13-bin libplot2c2 libwxbase2.8-0 libwxgtk2.8-0

Kind regards,

Klaus

This problem appeared when KAddressbook was introduced as "Akonadi-based"
version in KDE 4.4. This bug did not exist in KDE 4.3.

Maybe it is possible to use the KAddressbook version of KDE 4.3 instead of the
version from KDE 4.4 in Debian squeeze. Otherwise the next version of Debian
stable will have a broken KDE PIM (as a broken KAddressbook also affects the
use of e.g. KMail and KOrganizer) for th enext ~ 3 years.

Any chance to get a workaround or solution for this issue for Debian
squeeze? I see this as severe problem for KDEPIM in squeeze.

Thank you,

Klaus

Let's record this as a bug against tasksel.

What's the needed package?

The name of the package is "openoffice.org-kde".

broken kaddressbook in KDE 4.4.5 (Debian squeeze)

Re: Debian Lenny / kde-i18n-de

Hi Lisandro,
Hi all,

> Just guessing: probably there is no space in
> the first CD for that. But just guessing :-)

Uhm, no, I don't think that this is the problem :-)

One detail I forgot to mention: I added ftp.de.debian.org as Debian mirror
during the
installation setup. And I assume that the package kde-i18n-de should have been
downloaded
from there.

E.g. the i10n-de-package for OpenOffice was downloaded and installed correctly.

Kind regards,

Klaus (off-list)

Debian Lenny / kde-i18n-de

2008-11-05 Thread Klaus Staerk

Hi Debian KDE team,

I installed Debian Lenny + KDE using the Debian Lenny KDE CD
(debian-LennyBeta2-i386-kde-CD-1.iso) that I downloaded from here:

http://cdimage.debian.org/cdimage/lenny_di_beta2/i386/iso-cd/

During the installation I chose "Germany" as country and "German" as default
language,
keyboard settings etc ...

Unfortunately, after the installation, the German KDE i18n package was not
installed
(kde-i18n-de), so my KDE desktop was shown in english.

A manuel installation of kde-i18n-de (using apt-get) worked fine afterwards.

The other day, I retried the complete installation of Lenny + KDE and had the
same problem
again - so I thought it may help you if you are informed about this issue ...

I couldn't find a bug concerning this issue on bugs.debian.org ...

Kind regards,

Klaus
