Bug#802345: ktuberling: Crash instead of starting
Package: ktuberling Version: 4:4.14.0-1 Severity: important Dear Maintainer, After recent KDE transition ktuberling no longer starts and crashes instead: carramba@robert-desktop:~$ ktuberling KCrash: Application 'ktuberling' crashing... It used to work few months ago. Recently I performed update (not full, there are probably a few system packages not updated and it no longer works. The update of KDE wasn't smooth and involved several `dpkg -r --force-depends` with `apt-get -f install` at the end, but now apt-get doesn't complain at all. At least some other KDE apps launch just fine: konqueror, k3b, kfind, knode. Haven't tried other KDE games, though. Instead of them I can see reversed P, upper 3 (as in index), reversed ? and other strange characters. -- System Information: Debian Release: testing/unstable APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.6.5 Locale: LANG=pl_PL, LC_CTYPE=pl_PL (ignored: LC_ALL set to pl_PL) Versions of packages knode depends on: ii kdelibs4 4:3.2.3-2 KDE core libraries ii libart-2.0-2 2.3.16-5 Library of functions for 2D graphi ii libc6 2.3.2.ds1-13 GNU C Library: Shared libraries an ii libfam0c102 2.7.0-5client library to control the FAM ii libgcc1 1:3.3.4-1 GCC support library ii libice6 4.3.0.dfsg.1-5 Inter-Client Exchange library ii libkdenetwork24:3.2.2-2 KDE Network library ii libkdepim14:3.2.2-2 KDE PIM library ii libmimelib1 4:3.2.2-2 KDE mime library ii libpng12-01.2.5.0-6 PNG library - runtime ii libqt3c102-mt 3:3.2.3-3 Qt GUI Library (Threaded runtime v ii libsm64.3.0.dfsg.1-5 X Window System Session Management ii libstdc++51:3.3.4-1 The GNU Standard C++ Library v3 ii libx11-6 4.3.0.dfsg.1-5 X Window System protocol client li ii libxext6 4.3.0.dfsg.1-5 X Window System miscellaneous exte ii libxrender1 0.8.3-7X Rendering Extension client libra ii xlibs 4.3.0.dfsg.1-5 X Window System client libraries m ii zlib1g1:1.2.1.1-3compression library - runtime -- no debconf information
Bug#252888: Sudden crash of konsole
Package: konsole Version: 4:3.2.2-1 Severity: normal I've used konsole for a long time. It works good for me. However, today strange situation happened. I was logged on by ssh on remote machine. I was running shell script with a lot of output lines. While browsing the script output with ctrl-pgdn/ctrl-pgup konsole disappeared. I had two konsole sessions opened, so couldn't close both of them by accident. No bugreport window from KDE appeared (the one with Konqui, saying, that application did something wrong (SIG11 or sth)). I couldn't reproduce the problem (but will try to), but I am pretty sure that the bug exists somewhere, because: a) I didn't do anything special, which could cause observed behaviour b) I have no strange problems with system - everything works as expected So, while it is still easy to close the bug with UNREPRODUCIBLE tag, I'd like to give it a chance and try to find and fix it. -- System Information: Debian Release: testing/unstable APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.6.5 Locale: LANG=pl_PL, LC_CTYPE=pl_PL (ignored: LC_ALL set to pl_PL) Versions of packages konsole depends on: ii kdelibs4 4:3.2.2-2 KDE core libraries ii libart-2.0-2 2.3.16-5 Library of functions for 2D graphi ii libc6 2.3.2.ds1-13 GNU C Library: Shared libraries an ii libfam0c102 2.7.0-5client library to control the FAM ii libgcc1 1:3.3.3-9 GCC support library ii libice6 4.3.0.dfsg.1-4 Inter-Client Exchange library ii libpng12-01.2.5.0-6 PNG library - runtime ii libqt3c102-mt 3:3.2.3-2 Qt GUI Library (Threaded runtime v ii libsm64.3.0.dfsg.1-4 X Window System Session Management ii libstdc++51:3.3.3-9 The GNU Standard C++ Library v3 ii libx11-6 4.3.0.dfsg.1-4 X Window System protocol client li ii libxext6 4.3.0.dfsg.1-4 X Window System miscellaneous exte ii libxrender1 0.8.3-7X Rendering Extension client libra ii libxtst6 4.3.0.dfsg.1-4 X Window System event recording an ii xlibs 4.3.0.dfsg.1-4 X Window System client libraries m ii zlib1g1:1.2.1.1-3compression library - runtime -- no debconf information
Bug#245830: kdesktop: consider reassign the bug?
Package: kdesktop Version: 4:3.2.2-1 Severity: normal Followup-For: Bug #245830 I am the bug reporter. I have some extra info about it. It happens only with launching "kmines". Other apps just work without problems. That is the reason of my topic - reassigning the bug to kdegames? And second thing - when I launch kmines from kdesktop launcher and then close kmines, kdesktop doesn't hang - it only displays info: "KDEInit nie może uruchomić '/usr/games/kmines'", what is probably "KDEInit cannot launch '/usr/games/kmines'". Then I close that pop-up and everything appears to work. Bug#245830: kdesktop hangs sometimes
Package: kdesktop Version: 4:3.2.2-1 Severity: normal It started to happen on my current version - on previous versions it never happened. >From time to time, when I press alt-f2 to execute an application, I click "Run" on kdesktop window, then selected application starts, but kdesktop window doesn't disappear. Clicked button ("run") stays pushed. After a few seconds I click on top-right cross to close kdesktop window, then pop-up comes and says that kdesktop is not responding and if I want to close it. I want to close it. Then "Run a command" command from my KDE menu stops working. Alt-F2 doesn't work, too. When my focus is on konsole, pressing Alt-F2 causes printing "OQ" character sequence on terminal. (Alt-F1 still works). I repeat - it didn't happen before my current KDE version (specified below). -- System Information: Debian Release: testing/unstable APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.6.5 Locale: LANG=pl_PL, LC_CTYPE=pl_PL (ignored: LC_ALL set to pl_PL) Versions of packages kdesktop depends on: ii kdebase-bin 4:3.2.2-1KDE Base (binaries) ii kdelibs44:3.2.2-2KDE core libraries ii libart-2.0-22.3.16-5 Library of functions for 2D graphi ii libc6 2.3.2.ds1-12 GNU C Library: Shared libraries an ii libfam0c102 2.7.0-5 client library to control the FAM ii libgcc1 1:3.3.3-6GCC support library ii libice6 4.3.0-7 Inter-Client Exchange library ii libjpeg62 6b-9 The Independent JPEG Group's JPEG ii libkonq44:3.2.2-1Core libraries for KDE's file mana ii libpcre34.5-1.1 Perl 5 Compatible Regular Expressi ii libpng12-0 1.2.5.0-5PNG library - runtime ii libqt3c102-mt 3:3.2.3-2Qt GUI Library (Threaded runtime v ii libsm6 4.3.0-7 X Window System Session Management ii libstdc++5 1:3.3.3-6The GNU Standard C++ Library v3 ii libx11-64.3.0-7 X Window System protocol client li ii libxext64.3.0-7 X Window System miscellaneous exte ii libxrender1 0.8.3-7 X Rendering Extension client libra ii xlibs 4.3.0-7 X Window System client libraries m ii zlib1g 1:1.2.1-5compression library - runtime -- no debconf information
