While cross-compiling is supported, the target needs to be a valid Debian architecture. So in theory, you could patch dpkg to support such a Windows target, build enough of the archive with a cross-compiler to satisfy all the build dependencies and then build ffmpeg. But then you'd end up with some debs and I'm not sure if that's what you want. If you just want ffmpeg built for Windows, I'd follow the upstream guide and ignore the Debian package. We already established some time ago, i.e. after reassigning #884956, that this is https://bugreports.qt.io/browse/QTBUG-53022. The only difference on the VLC side is that VLC 3.0.x enables HiDPI scaling via QApplication::setAttribute( Qt::AA_EnableHighDpiScaling); and VLC 2.2.x didn't. Hence reassigning to libqt5widgets5. If you use KDE (i.e. plasma-integration), then maybe the binNMU was not enough and libqt5widgets5 needs a brake against the broken plasma-integration version. If you are not using KDE, then maybe other users of the part of Qt need to be binNMUed as well. Bug#841448: phonon-backend-vlc: switch from vlc to vlc-plugin-base
Package: phonon-backend-vlc Version: 0.9.0-1 Severity: wishlist The vlc packaging now split the plugins from the binaries so it's possible to depend only on the plugins. Depending on what phonon-backend-vlc uses, please switch the Depends on vlc to vlc-plugin-base (audio outputs, almost all access plugins, codecs, muxers, etc) and if required - vlc-plugin-video-outputs (video output plugins) - vlc-plugin-video-splitter (video splitter plugins) - vlc-plugin-visualization (audio visualization plugins) Regards -- Sebastian Ramacher signature.asc Description: PGP signature

Package: phonon-backend-gstreamer-common Version: 4:4.8.0-2 Severity: serious Today's upgrade of phonon-backend-gstreamer from 4:4.8.0-1 to 4:4.8.0-2 pulled in phonon-backend-gstramer-common. Unfortunatley, it failed to install with: | Unpacking phonon-backend-gstreamer-common:amd64 (4:4.8.0-2) ... | dpkg: error processing archive /var/cache/apt/archives/phonon-backend-gstreamer-common_4%3a4.8.0-2_amd64.deb (--unpack): | trying to overwrite '/usr/share/icons/hicolor/48x48/apps/phonon-gstreamer.png', which is also in package phonon-backend-gstreamer:amd64 4:4.8.0-1 This is due to incorrect Breaks and Replaces in phonon-backend-gstreamer-common. Since files moved in 4:4.8.0-2, Breaks and Replaces needs to be phonon-backend-gstreamer (<< 4:4.8.0-2). See §7.6.1. Cheers -- Sebastian Ramacher signature.asc Description: Digital signature

Can you please implement that change in git? CCing the reverse dependencies of vlc-nox. Maybe they can shed some light on the vlc / vlc-nox split. Hi phonon-backend-vlc and cytadela maintainers, we are currently discussing the removal of vlc-nox. Unfortunatly, everyone vlc / vlc-nox split predates everyone involved in the current maintainer team of vlc. Do you you have any insights on that?
