Bug#629659: [src:kde4libs] Please provide a plugin mecanism for file filter, particularly bz/xz
Package: src:kde4libs Severity: wishlist Filed under the src package section because it is also a packaging problem. Now kdelibs support of compression filter is done at compile time. You enable bz support but disable xz support. If I want to support xz, I need to: 1. recompile the whole package (not nice for end user) 2. add xz dependencies to all user (not nice for a lot of user). It is better to enable compression filter support throught a plugin mecanism with on demand loading of library. Qt3 removal rational
I comaintain upstream qucs a simulator of electronics circuit and the only free one able to simulate radio frequency circuit. In the scientific field a lot of software depend of qt3. And a lot of uptream lack ressource to port to qt4. At my workplace (university) we are using a lot this kind of software for in house use. We are not ready to scitch to qt4, and I am willing to ask more explanation about removal of qt lib. I have also seen that it exist some projet to package trinity for debian, that could offer an alternative and some delay. What is the status of inclusion under debian? The problem is that changing resolution go to previous setting without interaction of user after 15 second But merging the two output (do not know the english name but it is applying the same resolution to both screen) does not fall back automatically. I could go back to logon doing a ctl+alt+backspace. Bug#520150: [kde] Regression: accent are not displayed
Package: kde Version: 5:48 Severity: serious I have upgraded this week my testing system (last update from five day ago). Since this date accent are not correctly typed on kde application (and qt). They are typed by two white box but they are correctly displayed for instance on localization box and by text file under konqueror vievwer. MLoreover under emacs it work correctly. To test switch to a french keyboard and type 2 normally it will display an e cute. Accent are really important in french for instance a and agrave are two different word, one is the verb to have, the other means to. Therefore it is a serious bug, that render my desktop completly broken. Help needed for #377468
Hi! I would like to ask for some help for the bug #377468, if possible, please. Particularly from a mozilla-plugin wizard. The problem is that djvulibre in upstream is not linked against a particular libXt in order to adapt against different libXt version depending of the browser used. The question raised by the upsteam is the case of the browser itself already uses libXt, and links to a different version of the library than the plugin. This bug is easily demonstrable using the command [1]: $ ldd -d -r /usr/lib/netscape/plugins-libc6/nsdejavu.so But this behavior is quite fragile and could break [2] and I personally think that on debian browser and plugin will use the same version of library. Does my assertion is always valid? Can I enforce linking against libXt at build time? BTW should we contact other plugin developper about bug like this and should we document this issue?
