Bug#499226: konqueror: cannot edit blogspot.com posts
On Wed, 24 Mar 2010 16:45:26 +0100 Eckhart Wörner ewoer...@kde.org wrote: tags 499226 + moreinfo thanks Hi, you reported http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=499226 some time ago. Since then, KDE Software Compilation had several releases. Can you please verify whether the bug you reported is still present in a more current version (and - if yes - specify which version)? Hi Eckhart, I am afraid I cannot test this. At this point in history, I live in China, where blogspot.com is completely blocked / censored. Normally when I go to this site these days, I proxy through an SSH tunnel, in the case of the chrome browser for instance, by starting it thusly: proxychains google-chrome. However, konqueror does not seem to work with proxychains. When I start konqueror as proxychains konqueror and point it at blogspot.com konqueror complains: The requested operation could not be completed: Unknown Host I do not have this problem with other browsers. Bug#499528: kate: some Vietnamese characters not displayed when utf-8 encoding is selected
On Wed, 10 Mar 2010 18:32:33 +0100 Eckhart Wörner ewoer...@kde.org wrote: you reported http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=499528 some time ago, however, I wasn't able to reproduce the problem and therefore need some additional information. Can you please tell me what font you use in kate? Your problem looks like it's related to the used font (a square normally tells that the font does not contain the letter). Also, if you have a newer version of kate at hand (especially from KDE SC 4.x), I'd appreciate if you verify the bug is still present. Sorry Eckart, but it has been most of two years since I have been in Vietnam, and tried to type Vietnamese. I do not even have a Vietnamese environment to play with here anymore. Bug#532732: kde-minimal: Ctrl-Fx to select workspace only works for Workspaces 1-4
Package: kde-minimal Version: 5:50 Severity: normal In KDE4, if I configure more then four workspaces, the Ctrl-Fx short cut keys for workspace selection only work for the first four workspaces, ie. Ctrl-F1, Ctrl-F2, Ctrl-F3, and Ctrl-F4. Mouse action is required to get to Workspace 5 and above. Also, in the standard keyboard shortcuts window, these shortcuts are not shown, and there is no apparent way to add custom shortcuts. -- System Information: Debian Release: squeeze/sid APT prefers testing APT policy: (500, 'testing') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.6.26-2-686 (SMP w/1 CPU core) Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Versions of packages kde-minimal depends on: ii kdebase 4:4.2.2-1 base applications from the officia ii kdebase-runtime 4:4.2.2-1 runtime components from the offici ii kdebase-workspace 4:4.2.2-2 base workspace components from the ii kdelibs5 4:4.2.2-2 core libraries for all KDE 4 appli ii kdepimlibs5 4:4.2.2-1 core libraries for KDE PIM 4 appli kde-minimal recommends no packages. Bug#499528: kate: some Vietnamese characters not displayed when utf-8 encoding is selected
Package: kate Version: 4:3.5.9.dfsg.1-5 Severity: normal On this page http://blog.langex.net/index.cgi/Vietnam/dsl_broadband.html you will find some Vietnamese words on the first two bulleted lines on the subject of account ID and password. I edited this pyBlosxom blog entry using kate. When I pasted the Vietnamese words into kate (with utf-8 encoding selected) all of the letter 'a' with the additional markings on them, four in all, were rendered as little boxes in kate. The only 'a' that was visible was the unmarked one in the word 'ban'. As you can see from the final web page, the characters stored in the text file are correct. kate's rendering is not. -- System Information: Debian Release: lenny/sid APT prefers testing APT policy: (500, 'testing') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.6.26-1-686 (SMP w/1 CPU core) Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Versions of packages kate depends on: ii kdelibs4c2a 4:3.5.9.dfsg.1-6 core libraries and binaries for al ii libc6 2.7-13 GNU C Library: Shared libraries ii libgcc1 1:4.3.1-9GCC support library ii libqt3-mt 3:3.3.8b-5 Qt GUI Library (Threaded runtime v ii libstdc++6 4.3.1-9 The GNU Standard C++ Library v3 Versions of packages kate recommends: ii kregexpeditor 4:3.5.9-2 graphical regular expression edito Versions of packages kate suggests: ii aspell 0.60.6-1 GNU Aspell spell-checker ii ispell 3.1.20.0-4.4 International Ispell (an interacti pn kate-plugi none(no description available) ii khelpcente 4:4.0.0.really.3.5.9.dfsg.1-5 help center for KDE ii konsole4:3.5.9.dfsg.1-5 X terminal emulator for KDE -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of unsubscribe. Bug#440012: improvement: now it works a little bit
Konsole and SCIM were actually working for a while, and now since a recent update there has been a degradation: Now when I use SCIM to enter Chinese characters into konsole, some of the characters appear as they should, and some just show up as square boxes. $ apt-show-versions | grep konsole konsole/testing uptodate 4:3.5.8.dfsg.1-2 Note that SCIM continues to work with other applications like claws-mail: 你好吗?

Bug#440012: konsole no longer plays with SCIM

In the recent past, I was able to start konsole, hit Ctrl-Space, then type Chinese directly into konsole. Now when I hit Ctrl-Space nothing happens, ie. the SCIM window does not pop up. Would you mind tell me more details: 1. How did you configure your SCIM? On this particular machine I have this in ~/.xsession: #!/bin/sh export XMODIFIERS=@im=SCIM export GTK_IM_MODULE=scim export QT_IM_MODULE=scim scim -d xautolock -time 10 -locker xlock -corners 00+0 -cornerdelay 0 fluxbox (Just in case you are a scim guru: This install is several years old. Don't ask me why, but I have another machine installed more recently where I needed to do absolutely no config. Just installed the scim packages and it all worked. Both machines track testing.) All my locale values are en_US.UTF-8. 2. Which version qt are you using now? I am not quite sure how to answer that question. Is this what you are looking for?: $ apt-cache show libqt4-core Version: 4.3.0-4 This machine tracks Debian testing very closely. 3. Have you installed scim-qtimm? Well, no, it was not necessary before. Nor do I see it in the list of scim recommends or suggests. However, after I install scim-qtimm SCIM starts working with konsole again. May I suggest this bug report be used to add scim-qtimm to the scim recommends list right beside scim-gtk2-immodule? Bug#360875: Acknowledgement (quanta: Can't open files)
The problems I reported here seem to have gone away as of the latest Quanta 3.5.5 that I just installed. I don't necessarily have exactly the same KDE packages installed, but I am testing under fluxbox. Please close this bug report.
