Bug#1019446: kde-config-cron: Binary missing

2022-09-28 Thread Sune Stolborg Vuorela
'kcmshell5 kcm_cron'  also works and is a more light alternative. There
might also be other host apps for these plugins that can be coerced into
loading the cron kcm plugin.

If we do want dependencies, at least kde-cli-tools | systemsettings
should be the dependencies.

"systemsettings" and "systemsettings5" does not exist on my system and
not in the repos (via "apt-cache search").

That’s incorrect :

$ apt-file search bin/systemsettings
systemsettings: /usr/bin/systemsettings
systemsettings: /usr/bin/systemsettings5

It seems to me that the package "kde-config-cron" has some missing
dependencies.

Yes indeed, it’s missing a dependency on the systemsettings package, I’ll add
it in the next upload.

It seems to me that the package "kde-config-cron" has some missing
dependencies.

Hello Christian,
I guess the kcm_cron.so is really just like a module
loaded by systemsettings5.

So maybe you can start it with the supplied desktop file,
or by "systemsettings5 kcm_cron".

# cat /usr/share/kservices5/kcm_cron.desktop
[Desktop Entry]
Exec=systemsettings5 kcm_cron

Kind regards,
Bernhard

Bug#1019446: kde-config-cron: Binary missing

2022-09-09 Thread Christian Buhtz
Package: kde-config-cron
Version: 4:20.12.0-1
Severity: normal

Dear Maintainer,

installed "kde-config-cron" without having a full KDE desktop environment
enabled. I am using XFCE here but would like to have cron gui front-end.

After installation I can not find a binary for "kde-config-cron".

I checked the /usr/bin

ls -lr /usr/bin | grep kde
-rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 19K 17. Jan 2021 kdeinit5_wrapper*
-rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 19K 17. Jan 2021 kdeinit5_shutdown*
-rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 55K 17. Jan 2021 kdeinit5*
-rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 76K 17. Jan 2021 kded5*

I checked what is installed related to kde.

apt list --installed | grep kde
sudo: Hostname quark kann nicht aufgelöst werden: Der Name oder der Dienst ist
nicht bekannt

WARNING: apt does not have a stable CLI interface. Use with caution in scripts.

I checked the content of the package itself

dpkg -L kde-config-cron | grep -e bin -e lib
/usr/lib
/usr/lib/aarch64-linux-gnu
/usr/lib/aarch64-linux-gnu/qt5
/usr/lib/aarch64-linux-gnu/qt5/plugins
/usr/lib/aarch64-linux-gnu/qt5/plugins/kcm_cron.so

It seems to me that this isn't a stand alone package but something like an
addon or plugin.

That is sorry for me because I don't like to install complete KDE just for such
a simple application.

But it also seems that the dependencies of that package could be reviewed.

Or is there a way for me to start that application?

You maybe find my "Debian" unusual. It is a semi-(in)official arm64 image from
https://raspi.debian.net. It is not Raspian or a hobby project. Is is pure
Debian.
