Bug#267622: kde: keyboard input fails!
Package: kde Version: 3.3 Severity: important i installed kde 3.3 last week. i find that the keyboard is occasionally non-functional. to restore keyboard functionality i must: - logout (with mouse) - select console login (with mouse) - KDE crashes or actually manages to run console login - if KDE crashes and re-runs kdm it is possible to press ctrl-alt-f1 and other keys at that point. i DID once manage to press two keys. it was in between pressing the Run Command off of the Start menu and the dialog box actually coming up with keyboard focus. two letters were successfully typed: all subsequent and prior keyboard input had been ignored. this is a complete show-stopper for a major roll-out of KDE. i cannot use KDE 3.2.2 because as described in another bug-report, the functionality of the systray in KDE 3.2.2 is so unreliable as to cause kicker and/or superkaramba to regularly crash. -- System Information: Debian Release: testing/unstable Architecture: i386 Kernel: Linux highfield 2.6.7-selinux1 #4 Fri Aug 6 10:18:54 BST 2004 i686 Locale: LANG=C, LC_CTYPE=C
