currently I'm not able to configure kdm to use a german keymap but use
english language in the greeter. kdm forces me to decide between either
having a german keymap, as I'm using when logged in and german text. Or
I'm getting all text in english, but then I'm also having a US keymap.
Please consider adding the possibility of having a german keymap while
having at the same time english texts. Thanks!
I have a Spanish keymap here, plus messages in English in the greeter.
AFAICT, you should be setting the keymap in your /etc/X11/XF86Config-4,
right? E.g.:
$ grep -i language /etc/kde3/kdm/kdmrc
# Language and locale to use in the greeter, encoded like $LC_LANG.
# Language=
$ grep -i XkbLayout /etc/X11/XF86Config-4
Option XkbLayout es
What are the steps you follow?
Thanks for your fast answer to my bugreport. Currently I'm unable to
check the configuration, since I'm on a short visit to my parents. But
when I'm back next weekend, I'm going to report back.
