There are spurious dependencies in the output of artsc-config --libs: -L/usr/lib -ldl -lartsc -lpthread -lgmodule-2.0 -ldl -lgthread-2.0 -lglib-2.0 -ldl -lpthread -lgmodule-2.0 -ldl -lgthread-2.0 -lglib-2.0 are _not_ needed here (since the artsc _interface_ doesn't depend on these libraries) and just bring unneeded dependencies. They should be used only for linking libartsc.so itself, and put in artsc-config --libs --static (for static linking).
