Bug#865377: dolphin: Devices list not updated after ejecting Media (external DVD drive)

2017-06-26 Thread Maria
¡Hola Maximilian!

I tested it again today. Actually, that always happens - regardless of
where I eject them. I tried hard button, inside dolphin and inside k3b
always with the same result of piling. :)

There are other things I realized:

* All the entries vanish as soon as I close dolphin and start it again.
* If I start a second instance of dolphin there is only one entry.
* This also applies to Data-CDs. I couldn't test DVDs as I don't have
some around here.
* when I disconnect the DVD-Drive the latest (active) entry vanishes,
but the older entries stay visible

You think I should file it upstream?

Yours
Maria

after ejecting media from my external USB DVD drive the "Devices" list is not
updated. A newly inserted disk leads to a new entry with the new name of the
disk. After doing this with e.g. 5 disks I got 5 different entries in devices.

I would expect the entry to disappear after ejecting.

Are you ejecting the disks using the physical eject button or the eject option
in the device shown by dolphin?

I would expect this behavior to be caused by a lower level library than by
dolphin per se, that would be kio, udisks, the kernel module for the usbdvd,
etc. I don't have a usb dvd drive to test this (nor any data
cds/dvds around for what it's worth), so I'm tagging this help as way to
request someone to confirm that they can reproduce the issue.

If you consider this not really needed, please forward the bug upstream
directly, reporting the issue in: https://bugs.kde.org, and please send us the
url of the upstream bug after doing so.

Happy hacking,

Bug#865377: dolphin: Devices list not updated after ejecting Media (external DVD drive)

2017-06-20 Thread Maria
Package: dolphin
Version: 4:16.08.3-3
Severity: normal

Dear Maintainer,

after ejecting media from my external USB DVD drive the "Devices" list is not
updated. A newly inserted disk leads to a new entry with the new name of the
disk. After doing this with e.g. 5 disks I got 5 different entries in devices.

I would expect the entry to disappear after ejecting.

Thanks for your work!
