Hi,

during a test with piuparts I noticed your package fails to upgrade from
'testing'.
It installed fine in 'testing', then the upgrade to 'sid' fails
because it tries to overwrite other packages files without declaring a

This package fails to build with default-jdk pointing to openjdk-9-jdk.
Please fix it, so that we can start the transition to Java 9.

The "/jre" part of the install path is gone. Also, many of the libraries
have moved. I'm not sure why configure cares so much about the actual
locations.

FWIW, some years ago I did the atlas port for s390x. For dynamic linking the 
atlas
build/package process did support the exploitation of ELF HW_CAPS. So you could 
build a z900 (generic) and a z13 variant which is then picked by the linker at 
runtime. No idea if openblas allows the same. Of course the static variant (.a) 
must be the generic one.

Dear Maintainer,

Currently, libarpack2-dev depends on specific BLAS/LAPACK implementation:
libblas-dev and liblapack-dev. However, this prevents me from uninstalling
liblapack-dev and install libopenblas-dev, which provides libblas.so and
liblapack.so virtual package.

Could you add the dependency to alternatives?
Attached patch fixes this trivially.

I am not totally convinced by this solution. If we adopt it, somebody who
installs e.g. octave on an old system-z machine will be hit by a failure in the
dpkg installation process, which needs manual intervention. This is likely to
generate problems in automated installers (and also confuse and annoy system
admins).

Running help2man is always a bad idea, because it breaks cross
compilation and the manual page is of dubious value. I looked at the
generated one and couldn't figure out what glpsol is supposed to do.

The attached patch adds a script that extracts the --help output from
the source to avoid running it. While that doesn't improve the quality
of the manual page, it makes glpk cross build.

Please consider applying the attached patch or replacing the manual page
with a useful one. A short discussion on #debian-devel revealed that the
preferred solution is to replace it with a version that says what glpsol
does and directs readers to further documentation (e.g. running glpsol
--help or https://en.wikibooks.org/wiki/GLPK/Using_GLPSOL) rather than
extracting it.
