This is a serious bug as it makes installation fail, and violates
sections 7.6.1 and 10.1 of the policy. An optimal solution would
consist in only one of the packages installing that file, and renaming
or removing the file in the other package. Depending on the
circumstances you might also consider Replace relations or file
diversions. If the conflicting situation cannot be resolved then, as a
last resort, the two packages have to declare a mutual
Conflict. Please take into account that Replaces, Conflicts and
diversions should only be used when packages provide different
implementations for the same functionality.

Here is a list of files that are known to be shared by both packages
(according to the Contents file for sid/amd64, which may be
slightly out of sync):

  /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libcblas.a
  /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libcblas.so

This bug has been filed against both packages. If you, the maintainers of
the two packages in question, have agreed on which of the packages will
resolve the problem please reassign the bug to that package. You may then
also register in the BTS that the other package is affected by the bug.

-Ralf.

Bug#864004: dune-grid: FTBFS, and cruft package, on hurd-i386

2017-06-02 Thread Ralf Treinen
Source: dune-grid
Version: 2.5.0-1
User: trei...@debian.org
Usertags: edos-uninstallable

Hi,

dune-grid fails to build on hurd-i386 (unsatisfiable build-dependency on
libdune-common-dev), but did build in the past.

As a consequence, we now have on hurd-i386 a crufty binary package
libdune-grid-2.3.1, which is not installable. In case you decide not
to fix the FTBFS, please consider asking for removal of
libdune-grid-2.3.1:hurd-i386.

Thanks -Ralf.

Bug#808004: libdiet-client2.8: not installable on sid

2015-12-15 Thread Ralf Treinen
Package: libdiet-client2.8
Version: 2.8.0-1
Severity: serious
User: trei...@debian.org
Usertags: edos-uninstallable
Affects: libdiet-admin2.8, libdiet-sed2.8

Hi,

libdiet-client2.8 is not installable on sid on any architecture. This is
the case at least since 2015-08-02. The reason for this is that it depends
on libstdc++6, but libstdc++6 (5.3.1-3) declares a Breaks relation with
libdiet-client2.8 (<= 2.8.0-1+b3).

The same holds for:

libdiet-admin2.8 (<= 2.8.0-1+b3)
libdiet-sed2.8 (<= 2.8.0-1+b3)

Bug#766584: fenics: Fenics to be removed with recent dist-upgrade

2015-05-04 Thread Ralf Treinen
Hello,

this seems to be due to the fact that fenics depends on libdolfin-dev
(= 1.5.0), which currently only exists in experimental. The long-term
solution would then be to upload libdolfin-dev 1.5.0-x to sid. A quick
fix for a user should be to install libdolfin-dev 1.5.0-1 from experimental.

Bug#772410: sclilab : uploading the proposed patch fixing bashism ?

2015-01-25 Thread Ralf Treinen
Hi Sylvestre,

I can upload the proposed patch for #772410 (scilab: bashism in /bin/sh script)
if you don't have the time. However I do not know what to do about #749833.

Just let me know.

Cheers -Ralf.

  /usr/share/lintian/overrides/libgyoto1

This bug has been filed against both packages. If you, the maintainers of
the two packages in question, have agreed on which of the packages will
resolve the problem please reassign the bug to that package. You may then
also register in the BTS that the other package is affected by the bug.

-Ralf.

PS: for more information about the detection of file overwrite errors
of this kind see http://edos.debian.net/file-overwrites/.

Bug#722806: mona link with -L/usr/lib

2014-08-18 Thread Ralf Treinen
Hi,

This package has one or more -L/usr/lib in its build system,
which will make it ftbfs if there is libraries under /usr/lib,
while is not the default architecture, mips* for example.

The package (version 1.4-13-3) builds fine on mips [1], so I cannot see
a bug here.

I have today uploaded a new upstream version of the package (1.4-15-1).
If you still think there is a problem you will have to point me to
an actual build failure, or a violation of policy. Otherwise I will
close this bug.

BTW, grep 'usr/lib' */makefile* */makefile* on the mona source tree
(version 1.4-15) gives nothing.

Cheers -Ralf.
